Three more weeks until I can get my first vaccination
4 years ago
I finally have an appointment to get my first vaccination. Even as a 36 year old front line worker I still have to wait until May 25th. I used to tell myself that when I thought nobody wanted me alive it was just the depression talking. After seeing what feels like the entire world get fully vaccinated before I do and facing customers every day who imply they'd rather I be dead than inconvenience them buying yogurt, it's a lot harder to tell myself that now.
I'm sorry, it's been a long time since I've put up a journal this depressing but I'm at a pretty low point right now and I don't know what else to do.

And I know you feel like people don't care right now, but we do.
Grocery retail customers are the Lowest Common Denominator, like MALL*WART scum.
Just remind yourself you're superior to them -- and don't let the Karens get you down.
At least know there's people worse off than you, I don't even know if I'll be able to get a first shot this year and I already lost my job due to insane restrictions here, so now I have to put myself at more risk working freelance.
As for the vaccine, I have had both my shots and the second one was a little rough but nothing to harsh. Now that I am Vaccinated I truly feel more comfortable in public. I still wear my mask and social distance just to be sure, but having the weight off my shoulders makes me feel so much better and you will too.
Just saying.
