No Mega hotel for wuff

Well, the hotel booking page for Megaplex con screwed up. Wouldn't show any Villas available when the room blocked opened.
By the time they got the website fixed, all the Villas had been booked by phone-in callers. Only took 5 minutes, but that was enough to buy them all out.
Called the hotel desk who confirmed NO villas at con rate available, nor any left at hotel rates. They're 100% booked.
So wuffy is going to be "off site" for Megaplex con. Nuts! Was really hoping to get on-property for this one, but not to be.
Still, going to head down to Orlando and find an AirBnB nearby. Just means wuff won't be able to get in or out as easily (Mega's parking really sucks) and will have to pay the extra parking fees for non-guests. So might see less of wuff in the halls, but will still be there!
Laters, Furs!

But there are LOTS (surprisingly many) reasonable AirBnB properties very close to the con.
And with a bit of searching, can actually end up saving some cash, considering the room rates, plus hotel fee plus parking, etc.
Hotel Villas + everything end up about $250 ea night. Can get a VERY nice AirBnB for around 1/2 that. Some include "Disney Fireworks View", hehe, if those are even a thing by August. As well as pools, mini-golf, and lots of other perks. Plus a full kitchen like the Villas, so wuff can get in some cooking for himself and any furs that want to drop by.
But while the hotel got hit at the high-end rooms FAST, it looks like the regular room block and registration has LOTS of openings left. Surprisingly so!
Per the hotel, it looks like something around 425 bookings for rooms have been completed. So there should be a lot of "regular" rooms still available. And as of last night, the con reg was showing about 1300 openings remaining. Not sure where that sits at now. But a lot of those were roll-overs from last year.
But this wuff had expected a LOT more registrations to hit due to the pent up demand.
Hopefully they're able to fill the reg limit and room blocks! Wuff really wants this con to succeed, and a poor turnout could definitely hurt those chances.
I booked my room today. Looking forward to seeing you at the con!
And yeah, trying to find space for guest parking was just nuts!
It seems like Valet and "Non-resident Guest" parking costs are the same price. So perhaps wuff can splurge for the Valet parking and not worry about cruising for open spaces!

Looks like lots of the regular 2-room suites are left. Those are pretty nice too!
I'm all booked for this year, looking forward to seeing you at the con as well.
Looking forward to seeing you there too!
Have been researching AirBnB rooms for a last few days. So MANY nice places to choose from. Including places like whole house just 5 minutes from con Hotel at just $95 per night.
With the various fees and taxes and con rate room for the Villas, wuff could stay at that house for a full 17 days at the same price as staying at con hotel for 6. So chance to hang around Orlando and play "Tourist" once the con ends.
Only minor worry is parking at con hotel, which was really limited for non-resident guests last time.
