Potential New Job?

The Hefty 'Bre has something to say!
I won't sugarcoat it when I say that my job at the theater sucks. Many of you following me might already know that based on my posts either on Twitter, Discord, or even on here whenever I talk about it. It's hard enough as is when I have to usher more than any other position now, giving me no variety to what I do every time I go into work. However, things have been gradually getting more difficult as we're having a pair of assistant managers leave this week and we only just got a couple new part time employees on the job. I had to train one how to usher on Friday night, which didn't go down so smooth given how many shows had to be cleaned back to back and even shows breaking around the same time despite different times they start at. And we even had 3 ushers including myself that night. Same with Sunday night, so in order to make sure we didn't fall behind, I went ahead of the 2 new ushers and cleaned 2 theaters all by myself. Sweeping up garbage, picking up any large ones up off the seats/floors, spraying down any seats that may have been sat in with peroxide, and then taping any seats to show that they are clean. The spray and taping part take up more time than ever now to clean up shows, which has become a huge hassle.
The TL;DR of it all is that my job is a shit show and I need to search for a new job. Thankfully, I got tipped off from a friend of mine that I got to know at the theater before they quit that a Jewel Osco close to where the theater is at are doing open interviews starting around June 2nd and lasts till June 6th. If I can, I want to aim at getting a spot there and get hired. If I get hired and they pay me better, have flexible hours, and have people that are understanding there, I can potentially finally be free from working at the theater. I know some people at my current job are nice, but ushering is seriously isolating given how I am talking to the same people every time I go in. That and some people either talk very little to me, are a bit pushy to get me to do work right away when I am clocking in, or hardly help me when I need it most. Wish me the best for this as I plan to see if I can be hired at that grocery store.

A grocery store sounds a whole lot calmer than a theater. I do hope you get that job.
