PRIDE Month/Some Things You Should Know
General
There are hills worth dying on and fences you don't straddle. I've always believed this way, and I've always tried to stick to my guns about things I truly believe in. Those things have changed over time, some of them, but there are some that have not.
I've been bisexual ever since I can remember. My first crush was on a girl in my first grade class. I'm married to a man. I have been blessed with some great lovers and partners of many gender identities. Some would say that makes me pan, but eh, these days I just say I'm queer as fuck.
Most of this you guys already know. I've never been shy about it. And I'm not shy about this next part either, but it's just something I've never really talked about because it literally does not matter to me at all. But I've seen some particularly hateful rhetoric spoken about people who I at least partially share a label with, and when that happens, you say something about it. That's what you do. You kick a little. You don't stay in the shadows while others are being treated like shit.
You can use any pronouns with me. She. He. They. Whatever. I'm not Binary. Never really have been. The most correct term would probably be Gender Apathetic, and it's kinda in that NonBinary area. People who do not subscribe to a binary gender seem to have a target on their backs lately, and I've got something to say about it.
IF SOMEONE DOES NOT MAKE THEIR GENDER YOUR BUSINESS, IT IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS.
IF YOU ARE NOT FUCKING SOMEONE, THEN IT IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS.
RESPECTING WHO SOMEONE IS SHOULD NOT BE "WOKE", IT'S CALLED RESPECT.
If you make fun of someone purely because of the pronouns they prefer to be called by, don't cry like a little tittybaby when they in turn do not respect you.
So yeah, if you're the kind of asshole who'd like to say that Tumblr defined any gender identity other than "you are what you were born with", I'll draw you a fucking map to the unwatch button on my gallery page.

we're here, we've always been here. no amount of backlash can erase that. it doesn't matter if someone chooses to believe otherwise. history shows otherwise. the modern day shows otherwise.
i'm glad you had the courage to come out this way. i've been out as nonbinary for over 6 years now. i've seen so much in that time, and i've found the push back is a response to it entering the spotlight. times will change soon enough. thank you for being brave and fighting back. happy pride month to you. <3
I'm gradually beginning to come down against the idea of invented neologism pronouns though. Not because I have the slightest problem with any specific pronoun, or the idea that the world is more complex than "he/she"! Lordy no. If anything, my objection is quite the opposite β I think that trying to encompass the full spectrum of human gender with a full set of pronouns is as futile as trying to nail it down to two (though perhaps a little less silly). I'm perfectly content just leaving gender out of it altogether. Though I admit I'd like a more linguistically elegant solution than using "they" as much as I currently do.
And in respecting all people, using whatever term they prefer should be what you do regardless of how you feel about the term.
As a pup I went to a CoE with my mum nearly got confirmed and at one point considered a life as a priest. These days Mum is still CoE, my sisters been a Quaker for almost a decade, I have a friend whos a druid, another friend who was strongly christian (I forget which type) and I follow Kemeticism. We all get along so it is possible
As for Pride Month, I see it like Vailitines Day, why should we only respect X on a specific day ? Do it all year round.
But excellent points made
Say can anyone tell me J. Edgar Hoover's wife's name? What was one of his favorite data to defame those he oppressed?
Anyway, anybody who tries to abuse someone else about their gender or sexuality deserves what they get.
So yeah, I'm with you there. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean you can or should respond with hostility.
