Godamn why does the absolute worst in people come out when they go to twitter, I'm just so damn fed up with it and everyone acts like it's normal.
Witch hunting innocent people isn't normal, throwing out baseless accusations isn't normal, fuckng up someone's reputation cause you don't like them isn't goddamn normal. Stop tying to normalize constant petty conflict, it's no good for anyone and when actual concerning controversial stuff happens nobody lifts a finger and it damned annoying.
I only tolerate the verbal hellzone cause a few artists I happen to enjoy were lured into it, pray that you don't become popular on twitter cause people will search for any mistake you've made in the past and use it to try and take you down regardless of it you've moved on and become a better person. People have too much damn time on their hands and they use that time just to make others feel awful.
There's no regulations to rumor spreading, witch hunting or allegations and people have field day with that. I just can't take this fucking drama every damn day, it's always some artist turned out to be an asshole or some other guy was super racist or another being called a pedophile, it's old and stressful. There's no telling how many people on twitter that have me blocked due to their assumptions of me, you know the guy that doesn't fucking do anything, yeah that guy.......I hate him for some reason.
This toxic way of thinking should NOT be normalized, it's awful and now I'm once again regretting not being a more verbose person cause then I'd be able to go into depth about this situation; But I can however sum it up shortly, Twitter is like a toxic friend who manipulates you into changing your views or making you say things you wouldn't in person, it twists and enrages bringing out the complete worst in people. I've seen people I once respected become complete assholes, I'm not even sure if their naturally like that or being on twitter just fucks with their judgment. I believe the that we communicate differently than we did 10, 15 years ago. We're a lot more cynical and suspicious of others now. Those of us who fall behind, who intuitively expect people to behave as they did in the past, we tend to be the first victims of the new way things are done. We do and say things that irritate others. We joke in ways we're told not to. We lack shame when its expected. We lash out at criticism... and then people come after us. I've been lucky, but I've also seen it.
Speaking up is risky, especially now. Mild criticism and even mere uncertainty about things decided by a mob can get you blocked. If you make your living here you probably can't afford to piss too many people off.
Twitter somehow gives people the same feeling of anonymous power as 4chan without them being unknown.
Humans are heard animals, they almost always got with the heard even if it leads them off a cliff.
