Sure, there's a credit there NOW, but I'm told that before, there was not only no credit, but my signature/watermark was cut off.
Credit now given to me or not, this person didn't ask before altering my art... and dammit, that's one of MY characters. I don't want her used for someone else's perving without at least ASKING me first. Jerks.
This should go without saying, but don't alter, recolour, trace or copy significant portions of my art without permission... don't use MY characters for other things without permission... and if you've been heavily enough inspired by one of my pieces that your piece/character looks similar, at least toss me a crediting link.
I work hard on this stuff, as all artists do. The art I create is dear to me, believe it or not, and it isn't cool when people go and bend, spindle, or mutilate that art for their own purposes.
At least ask, dudes. Odds are, I'll probably tell you to go for it- but ASK whether you think I will or not. I guarantee you that it'll piss me off to find that you've done something to my art without asking me first.
