It's come to my attention that the coworker I currently work under may in fact be an actual racist and massive Trump supporter. This came to my attention when we were having a nice chat that turned into an argument when the man started talking about how the police are not racist or biased towards black people. I... do not share that opinion and in fact am quite on the opposite side here. Much as I tried to let this go, the guy kept talking about it and I finally started to say my piece about the situation, citing my own sources that basically heavily imply that there is a bias against black people in the police force.

This resulted in us getting into a heated argument that lead up to the events of the George Floyd case, a case they seemingly knew quite little about both individuals in the situation, in which I finally snapped at hearing the dude saying he was glad Floyd was dead. My response was I am glad his murderer was behind bars and should never have been a cop in the first place. I ended the conversation with a "Don't talk to me about shit you know nothing about." and walked away.

Now I have to go back into that job, but I do have a sense of hatred for the man now. So I may be looking for work elsewhere soon. All because politics got involved.

This is why you don't talk about politics in a work place. You will run into people at your work that view things differently. Sometimes to a point where you cannot help but think of them as an enemy of your beliefs.
