Give Up Art or Not Give Up?
Heya, Alex Blastfire here!
Some people I used to consider friends told me that I should give up on art, just because I'm a whinny beginner artist who can't make a living out his art. I already took my decision, I want to know what YOU guys think
I really can't do anything else, all they said was "get a damn job" "freaking wake up and stop dreaming" those words really broke me, but something a friend said to me was heart breaking "You'll NEVER get a job in the art industry with this kind of f***ing attitude! You'll end up in a deeper hole that you will never get out of" all because of how I react to failure... because of my stupid fears, I'm already a failure....
I just want to know your thoughts, I already made up my mind, you don't have to worry about my choice, I want to know what you people think I should do
I'll say nothing more.... just.... I'm sorry... : c

If someone is telling you stuff like that: "give up/you're not good enough" it should indicate to you that you're actually doing something right. They're just toxic and insecure and people like that literally cannot handle seeing someone who's motivated and actualized. Spend some time analyzing their lives, lifestyles and career choices and ask yourself if that's the life and attitude you want to adopt. How happy or fulfilled are those people? What kind of life and success have they built around their attitudes and thoughts?
If anything, I strongly suggest you double-down on your art and keep at it. You'll set a good example and weed out toxic folk like that. Commit to your art even more than you ever have.
"You'll NEVER get a job in the art industry with this kind of f***ing attitude! You'll end up in a deeper hole that you will never get out of": there may be something here worthwhile of consideration. If you seem to react in a very negative way to "failure", it is certainly going to be a detriment to your development and skills. Failure is important, it's an integral aspect of any kind of endeavor and there's a chance that it could teach you a lot about yourself and how you want to apply yourself.
At your worst, you can even do it just to spite them. While spite can be toxic in itself, too, it can also be a strong motivating factor that could be useful for a time.
