I am changing my prices for commissioned comics

If you got grandfathered in, then you don't need to worry. You are not going to pay anymore than you already paid for the one you are getting.
But from here on out, when I am commissioned to do a comic book piece for someone, I am going to charge at MINIMUM $20 PER PANEL. Frankly it was drawn to my attention that I definitely undersold myself for what was being asked and I must admit that I very much agree. That will not be happening again.
Also if the comic is simply several pages of single pieces as opposed to panels, I will still be charging $40 starting. Don't try to cheat the system, bro. It won't work for you in the end.
Keep in mind, anyone that wants to commission me for a comic book format style commission, I usually make between four to five panels per page. Seldom does it go above and below that.
Why have I changed my pricing? Frankly, the amount of time it takes for me to map out a page and then draw it is about three hours on average. This varies HEAVILY on several factors such as details like backgrounds, poses, fight scenes, how many people are in the panel, etc. All of which are decided by the commissioner. So I will be charging a minimum of $20 per panel.
The previous pricing method made me realize that work to hour ratio was well below minimum wage so I am not going to do that anymore. I might not be an amazing artist, but I am a competent enough one to know I am worth more than that.

Might want to consider standard commissions to go up too if you're putting in that much work.

I mean maybe. But the standards would still be like only $50 or something.

Definitely record about how much time it'd take to do pics to get an average-idea on if you need to bump it up or not. (Meant that to be posted in reply here... not sure why it didn't reply though).

Ah. Yeah I probably will. It takes on average 3 hours I think.
