Okay okay okay...about a month or so ago, a friend of mine and me signed up for The Amazing Race 16, it's ALWAYS BEEN MY DREAM to be on that show ever since it started airing...Ever since i was old enough i wanted to once and for all have a voice for the fandom to prove to the entire world, what this fandom is REALLY capable of and to show that we are MUCH MUCH more than what we seem to be, to the world. That and my friend and i want to see the world and win that freaking $1,000,000 prize.
Anywho i got a call today from the Studio in LA, California and we were informed that we Qualified for the PRE CASTING FINALS OF THE AMAZING RACE 16...this basically means that over 10,000 applications were submitted and gone through...and they eliminated all but 20 of those applications...AND WE ARE ONE OF THOSE 20 LEFT! They will eliminate 8 more and those final 12 teams will be casted on the 16th season of The Amazing Race.
We are soooo close...SO FREAKING CLOSE...and if we dont make it this time...I will keep trying until it happens...Everyone who reads this...just know that i'm going to TRY and do my FREAKING best to speak the true word of the fandom...once and for all...WISH US LUCK

In terms of "representing the fandom" however, I have great difficulty believing that you, or anyone else for that matter, would be able to do so in such a way that the majority of the fandom would feel represented. I don't think I need to remind anyone who calls themselves a furry that the fandom we identify with is constantly on the verge of devouring itself. Like religion, furry fandom is made of so many conflicting pieces vying for control of one another that it threatens to collapse from the inside. Going on a globally broadcasted TV show in an effort to "speak the true word of the fandom" (which sounds like something a religious zealot would say, and which is a misnomer, as there is no "true word") is an understandable, but utterly pointless endeavor. You will no more change the public's opinion about the fandom than convince them that the bible isn't actually the word of god. You will instead only represent the fandom as a group of gay, loud, hyperactive people - a stereotype I'd rather not be identified with.
If I had any advice for you at all, it would be to represent yourself, not the fandom, and not even attach the furry label to yourself, as people will only fall back on their preconceived notions about the label and blow it out of proportion, as fanatics of reality TV and the media will inevitably do.
Speaking my mind on the subject as though anyone reading your journal would give a damn.
i know skiver well enough that he will be goofy, but he wont damage the fandom as long ashe sticks to who he is and watches how he says stuff(in otherwords he will have to cut down on the joking)
