I fully intend to purchase a Primagen when one becomes available.
However.
I am on my country's disability from brain cancer. I had the tumor removed in November of 2019.
The removal stopped my seizures, but it knocked out my ability to use my right side.
This meant that I could no longer pursue a career as a Firefighter/Paramedic and had to retire from my job as one.
I can only have $2k in all of my collective finances.
So... you figure with how expensive I've seen Primas and rare Protos go for...
It'd pretty much cripple my savings.
So, for now, I'd like to keep Snow and make a Common/Uncommon Protogen for him. 
I don't believe there would be real repercussions, aside from angry furry's, having your character be an unofficial primagen. It's ridiculous of them to be so restrictive on creativity.
I know you don't want to upset the creator but I don't think you should change your character to a protogen if you don't want to. Especially due to your situation and your inability to afford them at this time. If you have to cripple your savings in order to be considered "official" then something is wrong in my eyes.
Self expression should be free and not restricted by the pursuit of money.
I know I kind of went on a tangent there but I really feel bad about your situation and I don't think you should be forced to change things just because someone said so.
