(answers gotten about YCH auctions, thank you!)
Hey there. Does anyone know where I can get info on how to start or run a Your-Character-Here auction?
I hear there are some (or used to be) that are run on FA using the comment system, but I'm fully unsure on how that would work at all.
Can someone point me to an example one? I'm sorry to be a bother, I'm practically new at this kind of thing (again) and just want to have something like that go smoothly.
I just can't figure out the best way when I try to plan it out the proper steps myself so I'm looking for a little help. Thanks.

Reckon if I do go this option I'll have to sign up as something else.
Thank you!
Here’s a ych auction I bid into. Some ych auctions I’ve seen have tiers, where the more money is bid, the higher quality image is done. Sketch to linework to colors to shades.
^^
Anyhow, if you do go forwards with a YCH, looking forward to seeing what you come up with! ^_^
Some terms to remember:
SB: Starting Bid
MB: Minimum Bid Increase
AB: Auto-Buy price.
You can also add things like more complex/NSFW/et cetera at various bid levels.
Hope this helps!
heres an example of my basic ych layout. once get the basic parts down it's easy to keep track of everything.

I'll be keeping it simple and to 1 slot, too much of it all just hurts my brain. ^^
here's an example of an old one i did on FA: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28208156/
but lately i've been using YCH.art, which has a lot of cool features, including letting your bidders stay anonymous. here's an example of one of mine there: https://ych.art/auction/45438 and the corresponding submission i make on FA for it: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41823763/
i have all my info that i use in both of those so everyone can see it!
It's good to see that fully on that site. I tried to sign up and said my name is taken though, so I'll have to find a different name to go under.
Thank you!
and no problem! i figured i'd provide lots of examples to give you ideas, haha
I'm terrible at that kind of stuff and dont' want to come across as copying that (modified with my own preferences/info) without at least saying something.
You post a pic, and it gives an anonymous system where people can bid and emails people when they're outbid. I don't know if it takes a % or not.
To simplify, set things like minimum bid increases, if there is an autobuy, and nip anyone getting outside the comment chain (like if they post a bid to the wrong previous one) fairly quickly
Though I'm now aware there are dedicated sites to this kind of thing too. I may not have the organized mind to try to reign in a lot of moderation of outside commentaries. ^^
I've seen a few with 'no taurs', and 'wings/complex patterns +$15'

Bid Goals: bid reach X then colored, if bid reaches X2 colored, if bid reaches X3 shaded, X4 then background
What platform to use is somewhat of personal trial and error experience for everyone because different people can (or cannot) deal with different things. Just like with doing art itself.
The art can be in different formats: single slot or multi slot, just figure outlines and you ask commissioners what background they want (which is a hassle with non-single) or you would have a nearly complete art with "insert character here" spot... or you leave it at your choice depending on characters or just would state: "simple background". Your gallery is plenty of art where "simple background" is used and they are still lovely <3
Depending on that it requires different amount of communications and how you can handle them.
Oh, and there is kind of "inverted YCH": "give\bid me your character and I draw it in situation I want" , often called "blind commission" if no raffle or bidding is involved, but I guess it's more of art-block breaker than monetizer.
