Only one comparable company I know of. And that is Huion's Kamvas line, which would be the direction I personally would go after much research.

I've been using the KAMVAS Pro 13 myself. I really love it.
The main issue seems to be that Huion is a Chinese-based company. My counter to it is if Huion is putting out a competitive and very competent product for this cheap, source of company be damned, Wacom deserves to sweat for it.
