I've seen an increase on artists catching flack for prices. Another friend of mine had a YCH and even reduced the price for people to be rude. =/ It's freaking awful. People don't understand artists are doing this ontop of jobs kids and life. It isn't as simple as slaving away for your art for it to be cheap. It's supposed to be something special! It's a process it's time given!! ~_~; I'm sorry you went through that!

I appreciate the acknowledgment. I'm glad I was able to help you in a constructive way and wasn't too harsh on you. There are more elements to this situation but I'll keep it simple and say that it was simply too early to open commissions. I'm sure one day you'll be able to price them that high after quite a large amount of practice. Good luck!

I just don't understand why people feel the need to complain about it most of the time, it makes artists feel bad. Like I've ran into a lot where I've felt the art was not up to par with the skill level and I instead just moved on, who am I to say what someone prices stuff for? Plus I know how it feels with the like 2 adopts I've made, it feels bad when people even aren't interested due to pricing or just not being as good as others creations.

its because of the times, people have not been in work for over a year i bet, and are now starting to lack funds but want artists to bend over, take it in the ass and just do whatever they want for as cheap as they want

I understand people having trouble getting a job, but willing to punish artists with lesser payment is so unfair and selfish. A majority of artists on here I see don't do commissions out of the kindness of heart, they have normal issues like rent and taxes, medical bills and such! Heck I wanted to get art so badly but I couldn't get a job until my parents felt bad and hired me at their company. And now I have slowed the art buying to save for my own place and to start investing as it's the better play, as much as I'd love to get more art. Nobody needs art, but the people making the art need the money to keep the necessities in life.

One rule in life anyone should be able to understand, if you can't afford it, save up until you can buy it or move on. Walmart doesn't lower the price of a game because you have 10 less than needed, and artists shouldn't have to lower prices because you don't want to spend as much. I WISH at some point I'll make enough to start tipping artists, I'm likely luckier off then they are.

Here I am overpaying my artist and as they put it "My art is subpar to most people who you like, stop paying me so much"~ a legit thing said by my artist, because I know them personally and have full trust in them (although they are slow lol).
If you don't like the price then go to someone else is all I have to say.

it would be nice if they did that nowadays, but people are being assholes since they dont have guaranteed jobs now thanks in part to their own stupidity, and now they want luxury items like art at so dirt cheap its not worth making
