Some of you may know that I work the electronics department at Wal*Mart. Often times, I work on the receiving dock, checking the electronics freight as it comes in. Today, one of the unloaders, Mike, and I were joking around as we were working. Mike and I are fairly close friends so we're comfortable making jokes about each other that other people would take offence to if they were said about them, including sexuality. While we were making these jokes, another unloader, a young African American male, decided to say that "God doesn't like gays, the Bible says so." I then took the time to inform him of his error. Genesis 4:15 says "The Lord said to him 'Not so! If any one slays Cain, vengeance shall be sevenfold.' And the lord charred black the skin of Cain, lest any who came upon him should kill him." It should be noted that I did not say this out of hatred for either this man nor his race, but rather to show him that if he will use his God and the Bible as a weapon, he should know that the same weapon also points to him. It was general consensus in the room that I emerged the victor today.
