A question for digital artists.
So I'm stuff trying to get better and faster at drawing, even got a new program that feels better for sketching and I can line with it (prior to this I was using a ummm . . . borrowed copy of CS6).
But the question I have, for those that might read this that are digital artists, is: What size canvas do you normally start with? What line thickness do you sketch with?
Currently I use a line size of 10 and on a canvas size 4000x2500px. (using a Wacom Cintiq 13HD tablet monitor and the program Clip Studio Paint). Guess I'm just seeing how others start and go about doodling and drawing.
I'm asking cause I feel like I'm trying to hold on to the past when I did everything with paper and pencil.
Thanks.
(Also, sorry for not updating anything from my last entry, I can't believe it's been a year. I need to work on that.)

I use a medium thick was for sketching. Exactly how thick doesn't matter because it gets thicker the harder I press, and I use about 33% density on my sketch lines so they get darker the more I go over something. That's the important part, not the thickness.
That's for my traditional, time consuming art.
I also found a way to do some simpler and faster drawings by using a 1000x1000 canvas and pencil brushes (full hard, no antialiasing) for a "pixelated" feel. I can finish a drawing like that, cell shaded, within one hour.
Hope this helps!
Once I'm ready to add more detail and properly -sketch-, I expand it by... Usually 500%, but that is unusually low-res to work in now, I think.
But, even if you do thumbs, a lot of it is kind of gradually finding what works for you. Some people can't stand low resolutions.
line thickness I hover around 6-10 for line work, 10-15 while sketching. I usually work with pressure sensitivity and shrink my brush to refine my line art and use the larger sizes for sketching. Although sometimes I vary the line thickness for my line art.
I've tried several programs and I'd stick with sai for now.
Canvas size is easy to start with a as big as possible size but keep an eye on ur memory , if you'll run out it causes glitches and maybe even a crash.
I use 5000x5000 with a pencil size from 4to 8.
