It needs to be discussed

In eternity, where there is no time, nothing can grow. Nothing can become. Nothing changes. So death created time to grow the things that it would kill and you are reborn but into the same life that you've always been born into.
I don't like seeing FA saturated with political shit, though I do understand why the discussions need to happen. Whether it's LGBTQ+ topics, current events and crises, or other issues, sometimes it just needs to be discussed. This is one of those issues because 20 years ago, on my mom's birthday, I watched on live T.V. as thousands of people were murdered. For the entirety of the rest of my life from that point, I watched news coverage of victories, failures, triumphs, and tragedies. I have watched U.S. military service members be awarded the Medal of Honor, some were able to receive the award themselves, but many had their next of kin receive the award on their behalf as they had not survived the event for which they were receiving said award. I remember sitting in high school, coming to the realization that this wasn't going to end. I often wondered if our president actually knew how to win this war, I wondered if we had any generals or other leaders who knew.
It would seem this month of this year, nearly 20 years to the day that we were attacked, we got our answer...it would seem, but the truth is most people with any kind of critical thinking skills knew before Obama's term in office was up...yeah they all knew. You all knew. We all hoped we were wrong. We weren't.
It's important to note that this is not Biden's failure. Well, not entirely. Not even mostly. He's the poor, stupid bastard who got left holding the check after all the other assholes said "Ahh I'd get this, but I'm broke. Sorry guys!" With that said though, there's a fair share of blame to go around and there is no small amount of it that falls on Biden.
The man campaigned in 2020 against the cancer that was Trump. Chemotherapy is never pleasant or pretty, but a lot of people saw Biden as that. Take the chemo treatment, hope the cancer goes into remission. I don't agree with a lot of Biden's policies and a number of things he campaigned on, but he got elected. As many people feared, he's turning out to be quite useless, choosing the absolute worst hills to die on. More importantly though, of all of Trump's mistakes...THIS is the one that he stands by? Biden supports a decision made out of nowhere to pull our troops out of Afghanistan?
He continues to double down on his instance that there were no intelligence reports that suggested the Taliban would retake Afghanistan as quickly, or with as "little" resistance (there was virtually NO resistance) as there was. Actual reports seem to suggest otherwise, as it was pretty open knowledge that Afghan national army soldiers were problematic on several levels. So here's where things are at with Biden and his administration, from my perspective at least: Biden is done. I don't think the Democrats will get anymore seats in the midterms, they will be lucky to hold onto the seats they have, and it will be a tight majority for whichever party comes out on top. If Biden is even remotely intelligent, he won't even seek a second term in 2024, he'll step aside and let someone else take a swing.
Like I said though, this doesn't all fall on Biden. Four administrations couldn't defeat the Taliban. This also reflects on the American people. We and our government love to talk about the glory days, during and following World War II. We fought and won against Japan and Germany, both nations are still alive and well today with booming economies. However, we forget how we cemented those victories: rebuilding/reconstruction. We dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan, the only times nuclear weapons were ever used during warfare in our history, yet Japan recovered and thrived. It's because as soon as Japan surrendered, the U.S. went in in force to rebuild Japan. Now...there are some, uhh...consequences to that. I swear to y'all, I don't remember how I came down (phrasing) this particular rabbit hole but...yeah we are the reason why Japan has a thing for panties and tentacles. That's our fault. But most of it was good!
Same thing with Germany, minus the fetish stuff (I assume, at least). We helped them rebuild and backed them up when the Cold War started immediately. The U.S. could have helped stabilize so many nations during and after the Cold War that we wouldn't have half the problems we do today if we'd taken the time to rebuild. Sadly, we don't have that patience or want to spend that kind of money anymore. This will have severe consequences. We have demonstrated to the entire world that we've learned NOTHING from Vietnam. More infuriating than that though? Osama Bin Laden may be dead now, but he was right about America's resolve. Some of you may not know that Bin Laden was encouraged to plan and execute 9/11 because of how Mogadishu was handled and the Rwandan Genocide after that. He wagered that our resolve wouldn't be enough to follow through any action to completion. The evidence in the news right now speaks for itself.
Two things we need to anticipate: the first is that another 9/11 is coming. It will happen. The Taliban retook Afghanistan immediately, days if not hours after our evacuation started. That's not the work of a defeated organization. That's the work of a group that knows and understands the strategic value in running and hiding. They know all they have to do is endure.
The second is that when the next 9/11 does happen, we will likely stand alone when military operations start. The U.K. is understandably pissed. And why should any of our allies back us when it happens again? We did this in Vietnam, we failed the follow through when we helped repel the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and we repeated the mistakes of both of those conflicts again. The last twenty years have been a complete and total WASTE. I've never been so ashamed of my nation.
Edit: Okay, had to remove a couple of comments. I don't think I should have to tell any of you, as this is the first time I've had to do this since I've been on this website since...I want to say 2008? Actually you all should get a damn award, that's pretty good! Regardless though, I'll go ahead and say it: please don't use my journal comments to call out other people, especially if they're not actively involved in the conversation themselves. Thank you.

FA+

Starting with the first bit, I'm having difficulty figuring out: do you dislike that I hate Trump and think he was a shit president, or do you dislike that I don't like Biden? Or is it both?
What I am able to discern though is you're saying that, since I hated Trump, I shouldn't complain about Biden? That makes zero sense dude.
As for Trump being great? Just no. Objectively, factually no. He was not re-elected for a reason. Several reasons, actually. But you've clearly got your mind made up and drank the kool-aid, so I won't waste any more time debating the matter.
On the second part, note that I said we HELPED rebuild. The reason why we used the nukes and then went in to rebuild was, in part, concern that the Soviet Union would get involved. So yeah, the U.S. got in there pretty quick. You are right, the Japanese worked very hard to rebuild and restructure their nation. My point was not that the U.S. was awesome during WWII, it's that people misunderstand why the nations we were at war with during that time didn't completely collapse and become failed states. To go further, it wasn't just the U.S. in any of those scenarios.
How precious.
I hope he has a good life full of future happiness.
You seem healthy and well-adjusted. Good job. :)
1. "Lastly about my former loser friend that responded to you, it's funny how he is butt hurt cause I moved on from him and his crazy way of being", first off, the word "loser" is not what I am, it's all on him, did I name call him, not at all, and "butt hurt"? Nope, unless I forgot the soft cushion again, haha! Lastly, "crazy", gee, again with that?
2. "At worst he is a loser with no life and at best is a person crazed and obsessed with me cause I don't think about him one second but it seems like I am always on his mind.", There he goes again with that word he likes so much of, hmm, and saying that I have no life, YES I DO! I HAVE LIFE IN ME! how else am I making this long post? And then the other words of "crazed" and "obsessed", I think he's talking about himself, even though he's bashing me harshly. Lastly, his mind is full of rudeness, and hatred.
3. "I know he will read this and it's why I type this part out, funny how he can't get over me but I love knowing that I built a 50,000 square foot mansion in his mind and I live there rent free while he is still butt hurt and hung up on me a year after the fact.", Gee, that big of a mansion, why not a ginormous skyscraper instead with my square feet into it? lol Again, there's that "butt hurt" part, he needs to go to a doctor about that, and I didn't hang him up, he did that himself.
4. "Maybe instead of stalking and commenting on all my posts get a life and move on.... or don't.... I love knowing I live in your mind and you can't get rid of me while I live my life literally NEVER THINKING about you.", and there he goes again with his obsessed word "stalking", damn, doesn't ever be quiet about that word, I hate it! Name calling from a Canadian furry that I didn't even do myself! Also, I have a life, and I will not move on until he changes that mean a@@ temper towards me and others! And, don't think too much, otherwise you'll crack under the pressure.
5. "The fact I don't even address you by name shows how much I don't even bother to waste a thought on you never mind written text." my "mind written test"? Was that in a driver's manual at all? lol
6. "...I am JUST THE WORST PERSON EVER..." , well he's proven that fact he is, and no, I'm not insulting that spaced out blue whatever, if he thinks for one moment he's acting like a nice person with a bunch of words slapped together in bowl of tirade, then there's something wrong.
7"stalker obsessed disgraced former", those words are uncalled for, I'm not those.
He's different, he has a nasty attitude, he's spaced out on outlandish words and comments, and he's future over his friends will never be the same, I'm sorry he's become like this.
