Hey guys it's been awhile since I wrote a historical related journal, but after witnessing history rhyming to itself, I had to post. It's a tragedy of what happened to Afghanistan both for the Afghan people and for the US at first went there to get rid of Osama Bin Laden and his fanatics, but now those same fanatics are back because of an inept and corrupt Afghan government that the US has had a hand in, much like South Vietnam, we may talk of freedom and liberty, but quite often pursuit of profit has often had us ignore our own principles(whether its related to human rights at home, or abroad) and we reaped what we sowed. Still for Afghanistan up to the 1970s it was a functional modernizing state, it wasn't always a failed state that it is now it was well on the road to become modern but one factor after another pummeled it into the ground and keeps getting knocked down every time it tried to get back up.
Here are videos that gives a good rundown of a modern history of Afghanistan
How Afghanistan fell apart.
How the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan started a terrible chain of events.
And how we f*cked up

Regardless, it's called the Graveyard of Empires for a damn good reason.
