It’s probably someone in the house going to the restroom, the door is really squeaky you thought, calming yourself. Once again, you start to faaaalll aaaaaasssleeeep…. scratch, scratch. Your eyes shot wide open, and turn your head slowly to the rain-pattered window. You see a tree limb lightly scratching the pane. You take a deep sigh of relief and turn back to the ceiling, and as soon as you did that, you felt the color leave your face.
On the ceiling was a disfigured creature, it’s almost human, but at the same time not. It’s skin was a dark green that it almost appeared black and its long, slender limbs are tightly grasping the ceiling with its pencil like fingers, or claws? It’s tail is flicking slowly back and forth, like a cat about to pounce. It’s head was the size of a watermelon and at first it appeared it had no face, but as you start to realize, its face was to the ceiling as it starts to slowly turn its head towards you. When you saw it’s face, you opened your mouth as wide as you can to scream, but no sound came out - you became paralyzed with fear.
Where its eyes should have been are two black pools of nothingness, so black that not even the light from the lighting outside can illuminate it. Its mouth is a fleshy hole with green drool dripping down on your sheets and where its nose should be is a singular slit, dilating every time it takes a breath. Slowly, a tentacle like limb protruded out of its mouth, inching towards your face as the drooling escalates. When the drool touches your skin, it becomes numb and limp, you are getting paralyzed! At this thought, you try to thrash and get out of there as fast as you can, but it was too late. The drool already covered your whole body, you could only move your eyes now, as you watch helplessly as the tongue wraps around your waist and starts to slowly pulls you upwards. The creature’s mouth expanded and expanded until it was big enough to engulf you. Your last sight was the deep crimson of the interior of this monster’s mouth.
*RIIINGG!!!!!* You jolt upwards in shock in your bed. It took you a minute to realize that you are still in bed, safe and sound. The sun was shining through the window, birds chirping outside indicating that it was morning. Was that just all a dream? you thought to yourself. You look at your sheets and notice there was nothing out of the ordinary. You look at the ceiling, nothing. Whew! I need to stop watching those monster movies before bed! you thought, while smiling at the fact you were safe. Then it caught your eye. In the dark corner of the room, you noticed a small pool of what appeared to be water. Perhaps the roof leaked last night?
So you got up and walked over and saw it was not water - but the same green slimy drool from your dream. You dip your toe in it and your toe instantly went numb. No… you gasped. You felt something on the top of your head, then you couldn’t feel it anymore, and that feeling spread to your face, your vision blocked by green slime. You fall backwards so that you are looking straight up, paralyzed again. The creature was back and is very real - and it pounced on you and even though you couldn’t feel it, you see it starting to devour you, ripping you limb to limb as you try all your might to move. Then your vision went to black.
