Visual Novel Writing Advice
The eternal baff dragon is speaking...
So, I’m looking to write a visual novel, and I’ve got a relatively simple idea in mind. I know I want to use Ren’Py for it, and only four characters have sprites in the game (three side characters and one antagonist NPC) and I have someone in mind for doing concept art for the characters. Problem is just… writing the dang thing. I’ve got the plot in mind, but I wonder if I’m writing it the right way.
What I’m looking for is knowing what pitfalls to avoid, what to keep in mind of to avoid requiring tons of sprites from the main characters or background images. Even formats/sizes for the sprites or programs to make my own backgrounds is something I’m not sure about. If anyone here has any advice for writing a visual novel at all, I’d greatly appreciate anything being imparted.
Thank you for reading, and have a good day today!

Best advice i can give is.... make one story. Then add branches.
Thanks for the advice!
