My art is evolving. Again. (Also hello everyone)

I'm going to make an effort to start writing journal entries mostly for myself, but everyone is welcome to follow along for insight on what goes on in my mind as I make my art journey. So much is happening regarding my art and so quickly too, so these journals should let me go a bit into detail about how I see my progress.
Dang. Almost exactly one year ago (+/- a month) I'd found and stuck to an art style that I love, and it's similar to what you'd see in the Metal Gear franchise. Love that franchise, love the art. Heck, after one year of practicing in that style, even my quick warm up sketches started looking pretty close to how I'd imagine it in the final version. Buuuuuut yeah I basically ignored clean line work hahaha. Until now, that is!
Endwalker could not have come at a better time. FFXIV's next expansion being released in November is currently my main inspiration and motivation for art. Funny thing is, I don't even play the game ahaha! I just reeeeally love just about everything about it a lot, especially the music! Apologies in advance if FF isn't quite your thing, but I'll be drawing a lot of FF-related pieces for a while. I've got my eyes scouring the internet for artwork by artists like Akihiko Yoshida and Yoshitaka Amano to learn everything I can. I've already dove into it by drawing this Hrothgar Sage! Man, I haven't felt this excited to do art in a long time. My thoughts are currently a mess as they're filled with hype. I'll still definitely be drawing in the good old Metal Gear style; that isn't going anywhere. Besides, there's still plenty of areas in that style for me to work on.
One final thing - I'll be postponing my commission opening to early/mid October. I'm going to get one or two more FF pieces down while I have the freedom to do so. As a heads up, I intend to add FF-style commissions to my list of offerings, but probably not in the next batch. Perhaps the next one, but I'll have to see how confident I am when that time comes
