If you are familiar with the quote, you may also know that it originally came from a Funny animal comic strip known as Pogo. The strip ended in 1973 so for the most part it was before my time, but it learned about partially because my mother went to school with one of Walt Kelly's daughters. One thing that surprises me, is that not many people seem to know about Pogo or Walt Kelly. He was hugely influential at the time, and was one of the first cartoonist to inject political satire into a strip. He lambasted Senator McCarthy during the height of the red scare, I wonder if he took any shots at Fredric Wertham. I was curious to see if anyone else was aware of Pogo and if not share this link: http://www.i-mockery.com/weeklies/weekly.php?type=comics&id=20 and this https://tropedia.fandom.com/wiki/Po....._(comic_strip)

The art varied, improving as the artist became more experienced and declining slightly toward the end. But it was always entertaining. Frequently thought provoking and frequently not ‘political correct’, although the concept wasn’t around then.
