Lack of activity...
Posted 9 years agoI'd like to apologize for just the utter lack of content and involvement on this page...just stuff has come up often, there are no local airshows anymore, and I didnt just want to turn an AC Infiniti game event feed. Hopefully with the new AC on ps4 it will help breath life into this page.
Ace Combat Infinity Group Survey
Posted 11 years agoHello and sorry for lack of new content for the group for such a long time.
I was wondering how many of you all have Infinity. What are your opinions of it? A solid entry into the series or just a money fueled nostalgia drive? Love to hear from any and everyone.

AC Infinity beta and War Thunder
Posted 12 years agoHey all sorry its been so long since I posted been wrapped up in a lot of stuff. First piece of business is that after 4 weeks of "matinence" the Ace Combat Infinity beta will relaunch on Japanese PSNs on 12/12/13 and close on 12/18/13. It is unknown when it will launch as a full game or if it will come over seas as it was originally intended to. Will keep you posted.
My second piece of news is after a year of wanting it I finally have war thunder. It was the reson I bought PS4 so I am estatic to finally play it. I have been having a blast flying all the planes that were not in birds of steel and enjoying the improved flight models for old favorites.
The down side is I had to make a temp UK PSN so I could even get it (unknown problems getting it out in the US) so dont wanna get too far in. That being said, anyone else have the PS4 version (crossplay with PC players not up yet). Would love to play with some people. Note/ Comment me your PSNs.

Ace Combat Infinity Beta Out Now...in Japan
Posted 12 years agoI have played a fair bit of the beta so far and I'm impressed. The visuals are every bit as good as Assault Horizon and the core gameplay mirrors that of the PS2 games with a few tweaks. There have been some teething issues but the full game will launch in Japan November 13th with the US Beta starting soon after that
Ace Combat Infinity Beta
Posted 12 years agoThe beta for the next ace combat game is November 7th-the 13th. However its only for Japanese psn accounts. The game will hit the us market at some point I imagine because none of the voice overs so far have been in japanese, even the promo vids in Japan have English actors. Also anouther strangereal super weapon appears in infinity; the scrimfaxi class submarines of ac5 fame.
New Ace Combat Infinity Trailer
Posted 12 years agohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAwMSEG4OB4
A new (and epic) Teaser Trailer has been released. This video shows Infinity's strong ties to AC04, the "falling star" opening the craters, the mobius loop, the AWACS Sky eye and the return of the fan favorite Stone Henge turret network all tied together with "Rex tremende" the intro for Megalith. This trailer also confirms the return of the entire Estovakian Ariel Fleet; making their sony debute with a new white paint job.
Infinity will be part of Bandai's Free to Play game series (Gundam Battle Operation and Tekken Revolution) and like its sister games will be PS3 only. September 23rd is the rumored release date though Bandai simply says "Later 2013"

The new Ace Combat: Infinity

Not much info on it, only one real trailer (listed above) but it does make things rather interesting. Infinity seems to take the events of strangereal and superimpose them on our Earth. An asteroid similar to the 1994UlysisFX04 asteroid crashes onto north america, a brief flash of something that looks like Stonehenge from Ace Combat 04, an aerial fortress similar to the ones from Ace Combat 6. There are only a few possible pilotable planes shown. The AF-X Shinden II with Antares squadron emblems, a very brief flash of a CFA-44 Nosferatu, and an extended shot of a PAK-FA flying over a crater.
I have to say, I am very very excited for this. So far there is no date...only that it will be for PS3.

Ace Combat HD collection.

This has been circulating the web and gaining a fair bit of momentum, so I felt I should help (after
bf109 kindly reminded me, thanks for that ^^). If you wish to see all the PS2 AC games come on PS3, 360, and vita, sign here and hope Bandi Namco listens to the fans. I sincerely hope this happens, there is lack of quality flight games on this generation of consoles, this series has been so formative for so many people, this needs to happen.
On a related note, would love to see the AC's PS1 games included in this...but one step at a time lol.

The Gen 4++ vs the Gen 5 fighters
Posted 13 years agoWell I was watching an old Dogfights, The future of Dogfights I think was the title, and it showed F-22s generally owning Gen 4+ fighters. But this was made several years ago, and the 4++ fighters are in development. These fighters are the Su-35BM, the F-15SE Silent Eagle, and the Chinese version of a Su-27 with an internal weapons bay and maybe thrust vectoring.
The question I pose to you is, which would you rather make your preferred air force out of? Both choices will have at least some semi-stealth/ stealth capabilities. AESA radar, and gen 4 Missiles.
Gen 5's advantages are far superior stealth abilities, better thrust vectoring, better survive ability, and the ability to communicate instantly with each other through a secure data link, sharing target information and other critical data throughout the formation.
Their disadvantages are extreamly high costs, so you cannot have a ton of them, various bugs because they are the first versions of themselves (ie, the F-22A now has its kinks that will be worked out by the F-22B or F-22C), the are a bit slow to make, and Murphy's Law (Like a weapons bay door stuck open, or lucky shrapnel damage to the air frame) can cancel out their stealth
Examples: F-22, F-35, YF-23, PAK-FA, MiG 1.44, Su-47, J-20
Gen 4++ advantages would be realitivly cheaper costs, so you have have 2 or 3 for every 1 Gen 5, that most pilots would be already familiar with them because they would be familiar with their previous incarnations (F-15E to F-15SE), and companies production lines could be more easily adapted to make them, so they are quicker to make.
Their disadvantages would be lower surviveability, somewhat "dated" designs, the lack of the data link and HMD with few exceptions (The Eurofighter has the HMD), and as more Gen 5s come online, they will be at an ever growing disadvantage.
Examples: F-15SE, updated Eurofighters, Su-35BM, MiG-35, and various Chinese designs.
I would love to hear all of your opinions on this ^^

Looking for hard to find Xbox DLC for WWII plane game
Posted 13 years agoHey guys, kinda in a wanting mood right now. I have always been a huge fan of the old Lucas Arts game Secret Weapons over Normandy. I have it for PS2 and had it for Xbox (Sadly broke in a move).
Well I am searching for another Xbox copy right now, and I remembered the Xbox version had a fair amount of DLC I was never able to get. So I am asking, does anyone have it and is the data able to be copied to one of the old xbox memory cards? If so I would really like to get a copy of the game data, willing to offer $20-$25 bucks in the form of any gift card you would like, such as PSN card or I-tunes cards. (No bank account, I normally just pay cash for stuff).
If you have the data please reply to this journal or note me, thanks ^^

Next Submission Set: War Birds
Posted 13 years agoI have posted all of the modern aircraft I have, so I think I am going to post the photos of the War Birds I have.
I might actually sumbit something to the group?!
Posted 13 years agoWell, I have stumbled onto a bunch of airshow pics I thought I had lost. Most of them are war birds, so it wouldn't really fit with the group. Still okay if I upload them?
Ace Combat Assault Horizon DLC/ New Ace Combat I-phone game
Posted 13 years agoWell its been a while since I have posted so I will give a rundown of the DLC I missed first. The Idol masters skins for the F-22, F-15E, and Su-33 are a throw back to the AC6 Idol master planes. Unlike their previous incarnations, they give no stat boost what soever (A relief to a good number of players). For $9.99 you can get 2 versions of each skin, a standard and a monochrome. You may also buy each plane skin set separately for $4.99
In Pack 5 the Su-37 finally made a reappearance. The Su-37 is very similar to the Su-35 in specs, but has 4AAM or a QAAM as its special weapon. It has 3 skins default to it, the Paris Air Show Debut skin, an Arctic skin, and the most fan appreciated Yellow 13 skin. It is available for $5.99, the new standard price for all non super planes. Pack 5 also had several new skins. Unfortunately I have only been able to get one of them. I one I bought was the A-10 "Happy holidays" skin. It is very festive and allows your A-10 to go above 1100mph. The other 4 skins in the pack are a Pac-man skin for the F-35B, a Tiger skin for the RaffleM, and a Lepord skin pattern for the AH-64D. Pack 5 was also the first to introduce new Skills as a non pre-order DLC (The originality Pre-order skils, MG cool down + Enhanced DFM+ and Enhanced ASM+ have now been released in a pack for $6.99). These new skills are Quick Respawn+, respawn online quicker, Sharp shooter, increases the chance for your MG to do score a critical hit, and Defender, greatly increase the durability and range of ECM coverage on your plane. All 3 can be bought in a back for $6.99 or separately for $2.99 a piece.
In the final bit of AC AH DLC rundown, pack 6, two new maps finally appeared as well as 3 real world skins and 3 more DLC skills. The map pack consists of the Tokyo, and Honolulu maps, and 2 planes: the AV-8B Harrier II Plus and the CFA-44 Nosferatu Superplane for AC6. The Harrier makes a great ground attack plane, a good dog fighter. The CFA-44 is very unstable, very mobile and horrible defense.. I recommend you practice with it a lot, otherwise you will be easy meat for more experienced players. The 3 skins are based on real world planes. The first for the F-15C, White Dragon, is based on a Japanese self-defense force scheme from the 2003 TAC meet. The 2 other skins are based on Strike Fighter Squadron 103 of the US Navy, the Jolly Rodgers. The Jolly Rodgers skins are available for the F-14D and the F/A-18F. Finally, the 3 new skills: Quick Assault+ greatly reduces the time it takes to charge the assault circle in DFM and ASM, Boost and Turn increases the throttle and turning performance for your engines, and Enhanced Bombs+ that boosts the destructive power of your smart and dumb bombs.
The final pack in DLC wave one, Pack 7, is on it way with one aircraft confirmed, the YF-23 Black Widow II. So keep a look out.
In the last bit of Ace combat news, a new game has been released for smart phones: Ace Combat Northern wings. For your AC5 fans, Northern wings allows your to control the Ark Bird, so if you have some spare cash, its worth a look.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon DLC Pack 4
Posted 14 years agoThe next DLC pack has been confirmed; Two planes, two paint schemes. The two planes are the Panavia Tornado GR.1 (attacker), and the F-15S/MTD (multirole). Both have 3 paint jobs included. The Tornado's special weapons are Four anti Ground missiles and a bomblet spreader. The F-15 Active's special weapons are four multiple air to air missiles, quick maneuver air to air missiles, and long range air to ground missiles.
The two special paint schemes are a warthog face for the A-10A and the retirement scheme for the F-117. The A-10 scheme is pretty plane, same as standard paint except with a warthog face on the nose. The F-117 bears its real life paint job in honor of its retirement in 2009 ( http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....Nighthawks.jpg ).
The prices should be the same as the last few, 8 USD for the planes and 4 USD for the paint jobs.

F-16C Patriot woes
Posted 14 years agoWell, I have been excited for the Assault Horizon giveaway of the USAF promoted skin for the F-16C. Gamespot was supposed to handle the giveaway. Well...first they reported the wrong date, November 15th, and pushed that date with a video. Numerous sites linked to that video and announcement. Well the 15th came and the codes never went up, many fans posted asking why...they was no word from gamespot. It was later reviled that it was the 18th for the release. Well the 18th came...and codes did go up...but they were for some Assassin's creed skin, people were confused and asked what was going on...again no answer gamespot. So hopefully the Patriot will eventually come out...and hopefully gamespot will stop dropping the ball.
EDIT: The codes are up as of 2:00 pm EST 11/18. You must be a member to claim, but its free to join.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Impressions
Posted 14 years agoI have to say, this game is all I would hoped it would be. For the die hard AC purists (which I am only a steps below that) the story doesn't drive the game like the last games in the series. Not that the story is bad, just not as good as lets say AC5 or ACZ. But the game mechanics and combat are amazing. You could almost loose focus in the damage you do to other planes. The campaign is a bit short, but still satisfying, but its the multiplier that will keep you coming back. Its hard not to be content with the whole experience.
There are however a few little things that bug me. In multiplayer, a player you are trailing behind in Dog Fight Mode as dive at the ground and pull up really late, and you will end up hitting the ground. Another things is that bombers were shown in multiplayer prerelease images, yet they are not in it. And a final complaint is the lack of a points total till after the mission. In campaign, points don't really matter but in the free mission they do, and there is no way to tell what you have till the mission results come up.
Overall, this is a really great addition to the series. It is a pretty big departure from the last games, but I think it pulls it off.

New Ace Combat Games
Posted 14 years agoHello all. The demo for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is out (For PS3 at least, idk about 360). It is really worth a play, if for nothing more than to see the new graphics. The new default controller scheme is a bit difficult to get accustomed to from an AC game but they included the old style scheme as well.
In hand held news, more information on the new AC game for the 3DS is out. From what I saw, no big plot details but info that says they will have an enemy squadron representation similar to Ace Combat Zero. For more information, here is the AC wiki page: http://acecombat.wikia.com/wiki/Ace.....:_Cross_Rumble
Well thats all for now, thanks for reading ^^
