I checked my inbox when I came back from a family vacation and noticed I have 3000 watchers!

First and foremost, thank you all so much!!!
As trope-y as it is to say, I do mean it when I say I would not be here without all y'all checking out my little potion shop.

That said, I feel like drawing something to mark the occasion, but... I'm stumped at the moment.
So, I thought it'd be fun if I posit the question towards the audience, since you're the reason I'm marking this day today, soooooooo I ask you this:
"What shall I brew up for you?"

Finished up that banner I was working on, time for some more commissions! (Been meaning to make a more established look of Keane's potion shop, it's been kinda bugging me ever since the Croissant Elixir pic where I just used a bunch of repeating shelves and assets, haha)

Alrighty, finished that new icon I was working on, time for some more commissions!

Lessons learned from the last batch, animations can take me a fair while to do, so I'm most likely not gonna do four in a batch again until I can become quicker at getting those made. Maybe like one or two maximum per batch for now. I started the last batch in August and it took until March to get eight commissions done, I don't regard that as a good thing in my eyes, so this time around I'm going to particularly make a point of getting things done in a more routine fashion, and taking on less animations at once should be the first step towards that

Once ten people have been accounted for, I'll shuffle the names and determine a list order.

If I didn't end up choosing your commission, please don't take it personally. There was quite the turnout this time of interested folks (Over twenty notes! Thanks for all the interest!!). I'll also be getting in touch with those who didn't make it onto the list, to let them know of their status instead of leaving them hanging in a "maybe, maybe?" situation, something I regret not having done last time I did commissions.

Hello everyone,

I'll be cutting off the requests here, and spending today getting in contact with those I've selected for a commission project.

There were a slight bit more than ten requests, so that unfortunately means there will be a few of you whose project I won't be taking this time around. I'm hoping that if you're still interested down the line, you won't have to wait as long this time for commissions to open up again. That said, I thank you all for your interest in my art, and I look forward to these commissions.

Once I've got in contact with all those selected, I'll update this journal once again and I'll also update the slots list as well. To make things interesting this time around, I'll assign an order through dice rolling since it wasn't first come-first serve this time (and I've just been in a real DnD/RPG mood lately) so for those who are at the front of the list, I'll also see if I can get started on yours right pronto as well.

So with the posting of the latest pic, that's my current batch all done that I started way back in July. A big thank you to all you once again for choosing me to draw for you, and extra thanks for your patience if you were further down the list and had to wait longer for me to get around to your projects!

So, I will start up on commissions again in the future, but it won't be immediate. Not to worry though, I'm thinking sometime in January, I just want to take things easy for the rest of December and possibly work on my own personal projects too in the meantime.

Regarding those commissions, I'm thinking of two changes moving forward:
One: I'll have ten slots available at a time instead of five, but no more waitlist. Overall, that's a batch of 10 compared to this batch of 15. A good deal of doodles done, but less time to wait in between for windows of time where I take on new projects.
and Two: Instead of the "first come, first serve" method I had been doing for taking on commissions, I'm going to take a page out of Gettar's book and have a window of time where folks send me their ideas and I pick a bunch and contact those individuals further. I like this idea since it allows me to get an idea of the project scope beforehand and it allows those who wanted to get some art from me a little extra time to contact me (this last batch for instance had quite a few people who were just unfortunately a little slower to contact me and they missed out). Seems like a decent middle ground to me.

I'll be sure to remind everyone of these changes when I next open up for commissions. Until then, I wish you all a good rest of the year. It's been a weird and strange year to say the least, so I hope you all get at least some R&R in at this years' end.

Throwing a little poll out there to see what people think.

As you might've seen, I haven't been uploading a whole lot of things lately. Work's gotten me pretty busy lately, and I feel I don't often have as much time to spare for some of my larger-form works, like those involving inks or more detail.
As such, is there an interest in folks seeing my more sketchy work? I'm genuinely curious, as I have this self-doubt that I feel I'll end up flooding my gallery with sketches as opposed to more completed works.
Regardless, let me know what you think, and maybe give your thoughts on how you'd want them (a lot, some here and there, individual uploads, sketchdumps, that sort of thing)

So! Gonna put it right upfront, you're probably going to see a whole lot less activity from me (more than usual anyway) for the next week or two, but there's a reason behind that!

And no, it's not that I'm hooked on Dark Souls (although that is a fairly notable factor to consider)

The MAIN reason is that I got hired at an animation studio and so now I got work to do for the big chunk of the day!

That said, catch ya on the weekend, might do a stream on Sunday. Probably will sleep in (without feelin' lazy too)

For the month of August anyway, but still!

In August, my time's going to be notably taken up by my new job, being an animation instructor for a local youth group. For those of you who were or are curious about animation, this isn't really a master's course I'm instructing on, it's a precursor to university animation, if you want to think of it like that. Not exactly strenuous stuff, but regardless, I'm going to be rather preoccupied for five days a week for three weeks.

Been a long time since I was last nervous and excited at the same time.

Happy 2015 from my home, the Canadian mid-north. Blazing heat in the summer and frosty cold in the winter, and it looks like it's time for another year of that!

Here's to a promising year. May we approach these new days with joy and hope.
I wish you all nothing but the best in what you do that makes you most happy in life.

I'll be back in the city soon, I look forward to picking up the tablet stylus once again!

So, I'll keep this journal rather short because the title's pretty self-explanatory.

I've been thinking I want to perhaps make another tutorial or two sometime in the future inbetween commission work. Thing is, I'm curious to hear what people would like me to do a how-to about.

List anything you like, no matter how abstract it may sound. Perhaps someone else out there is wondering the same thing!
