Hey folks. Got back from BLFC and it was pretty fun. Felt like I got my props down for my partial and had a bunch of fun interactions with people. Still slightly recovering from trip, but overall it's always a fun trip to Reno.

Recovering for a bit before I get back to posting. I'm luckily into early this year and I've been slightly more consistent with posting. I think making shorter stories on some of the posts helped a lot. Though, I've gotten off longer stories on the ones I feel need them.

Next update will probably be at the end of the year. Thank you everyone!

Just wanted to cover a few things. Since the con happened and wanted to mention the last con I'll be going to this year.

First, I enjoyed Denfur and wanted to thank everyone that turned up at the panel. Don't know if anyone from there will read this, but I appreciate it. Don't know if I was a good host, but my main goal was to poke at the shy people and see if they wanted to talk. When I did that, then they started to engage. I didn't want to suck all the attention out of the room and I felt it worked out hopefully. There is a picture on my bsky if anyone is interested.

My next convention will be BLFC and the last one this year. So feel free to poke me if you want to meet up. As for next year...I'm not sure. A old friend of mine talked about FWA and another friend mentioned EF. I haven't quite decided yet...I'll probably have an answer on FWA by the end of the year. With EF this year, I just needed a break from travel overseas (and it's expensive). Plus it overlapped with my local con. Next year it doesn't, and I'll have to think if I want to do that trip.

Finally, posting! I always talk about this, but I just need to start shoving stuff out there. Not all pieces require a large story, not to say that they aren't my favorite...I love all the art I get. But, I could just tease with little tidbits or a shorter story and get the same impact. It won't exactly be in order, but it's roughly in order and I just need to commit to posting one a day, regardless of mood.

Hey folks, just a couple of things I want to mention.

Had family here for two weeks and it's been hard to write while they were here. They tend to be nosy and make things hard to post. Hoping to get back on track this week and start posting again.

Second, I'll be heading to Denfur on Aug 29th - Aug 31st. I'll also be hosting a meet and greet on Sunday for rodents. First time doing a panel, but hoping it works out. If you want to meet up, let me know or just be at the panel on Sunday 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Just wanted to update, feeling a bit better after a week or two. Today I'm taking a break from posting an art piece, but that was mostly because I finished my "old" queue and had to reorganize the pieces I got since then.

You will be happy to know I have 50 pieces of un-posted art that I commissioned. X_X

I'll try to make it a goal to post every day.

I won't dive into the details but two traumatic things happened in one night and need some time to process them. I'm feeling better but, yea...doesn't put you in the mood to write smut. XD

Hey folks, wanted to give a few updates.

First off, I had fun at Anthrocon, though had a few nitpicks and I wasn't 100% with some stomach issues. I think being unwell and having to take the bus over sapped my energy, that and I'm a bit older didn't help things.

Though, if I were to go again, I would want to have some friends to stay with. It sucks being alone at cons sometimes. But, on the other hand, I did get some good interactions with fellow rats. There was only a few of us, but it's still fun to interact with them.

Also you might have noticed I posted a commission since it's been a bit! Yea...I need to catch up. I'm going to try and post one every day, though I've said that before. But, I really do want to catch up. I do like writing still, but I think it's easy for me to get distracted or intimidating to write for every piece I get. But, all I can do is try.

Heya folks. I wanted to give an update to what's been happening. I do have a new job and I'm much happier, though I'm still learning it, so we will see what happens. But mentally I am in a better place.

Though, a week before I started the new job, I injured my arm in a fall and I'm slowly recovering. A bit of bad luck there. >_>

Also had family visit for two weeks during that time. It's been hard to do anything when that is going on.

Anyway, I'm still alive, just been busy lately. I'm really behind on posting stuff and hopefully I can get into the swing of things again soon. But, at least mentally, I'm in a better spot. It's been hard to do things when I wasn't mentally there.

Hey everyone. I wanted to write down what happened this year in reflection. Suppose this is my way to vent or open up about events and what happened this year. I tend to be rather private about my life, but I think that pushes away people sometimes.

Overall it's been...messy in good ways and bad.

To start, I worked for a new company this year, just same job. However, as the year went on, things degraded quickly and it tested my mental health. I got back on anti-anxiety medication because it was impacting my work. But, I've come to the realization that I need a change away from the tech field. I think I'm more comfortable helping people in other ways and tech didn't satisfy me the way I wanted it to. Guess this is my mid-life crisis, but I'm hoping to have a new job soon.

This year was also the passing of our grandfather. We did expect it and I coped with it rather well, but it's strange seeing that era disappear, as our oldest in our family now is our mothers and fathers.

That's all the negative stuff mostly. It has disengaged me for parts of the year, the medicine stifling my creativity for a few months. But, I felt like I got some of my spark back the last few weeks. I just want to thank those that listened or helped out with that and thank you for understanding.

As for the fandom...well honestly it's been pretty good! I switched to my rat sona early this year and I've been happy about it. I feel more connected with Ramsey than Ras and I liked the change. I've felt consistent with getting commissions, though posting is another story. I went to three cons with my rat partial and felt pretty good about them. I hung out with my best friends and made a few new ones. Thank you for hanging out with me, even though I'm pretty quiet. X_X

As for what comes in the new year? Well first is finding a decent job. I have an interview in the new year and my hope is I'll be doing this new job soon. Second, I want to continue to work on my social skills. I think they've gotten better, but my social battery isn't the greatest. But, it's the in-person conversation I need to work on, since I freeze up in casual conversation. Finally, I still don't know what my sexual orientation is and I'm not sure where I land with that. I'm starting to wonder if I'm asexual, but the nice thing is that can always change.

Hey folks.

Just a couple of things. My con circuit is complete and I was glad to go to all the cons. I connected with old and new friends and I also got to wear a partial. I'm still planning out next year, but I'm currently thinking four conventions next year.

Second, if you follow me on Twitter, you probably saw the announcement that I've moved over to Bluesky. If not, I am going to be more active on that site than Twitter from now on. I will check messages there and continue to poke artists that remain there, but I dislike the changes going on there and last week was the final straw. I've tolerated the changes for awhile, but between bots, AI, and finally the new "block" feature, it makes the app less usable and I prefer to go somewhere where I have an easier time to discover artists.

I went through my follow list and followed almost everyone on Bluesky. Plus, it is not crippling me to move over, since I don't make money on the site and I never really cared for the followers. To be honest, most of the followers I had might have been bots.

Hopefully this doesn't impact my support for artists that much. They are rather over there already or I also follow them on FA. But, I've included the link in my profile, so feel free to check it out.

Other than that, my plan this week is to start posting some of my old art. I have quite the backlog and I would like to catch up. It doesn't help I like to write stories and I want to be in the mood for such things, but I'm feeling pretty good right now, so hopefully I can start back up tomorrow.

Thank you all for the support from my last post. I try not to vent my business on social media, but my activity was abysmal and I wanted to at least give an explanation why.

Heya. Just wanted to make a quick journal since it's been silent on my end. Just been busy and depressing since I got back. Mostly due to work stuff so I apologize if I'm a bit of a ghost right now. I do have a backlog, but my mood hasn't been great.

I'm hoping to find different work once I get back from BLFC. Guess you can call it the mid-life crisis, but I think it's good to reflect and find out what you really want to do as you start to age.

This does mean I'll be buying less commissions until I get back. Plus depression sucks for ideas.

As for my trip, I did enjoy it! Though, I do miss my old and new friends. I'm pretty reserved when it comes to hanging out with others, but to those who I met or spent time with, just know it has brought me the greatest joy to be with you all.

I'll be fine once I figure out where I want to go in my life, but thank you for bearing with me and my reclusive self.

Hey folks, just two things in this journal.

First, you probably seen the avatar change, but I've decided to change over to my rat character Ramsey. I still love Ras and he is a very personal sona to me. However, I've started to feel more attachment to Ramsey and I feel like I want to change over. It's also partly due to having a partial suit for Ramsey. I just resonate with his personality more than Ras currently.

Does this mean anything? To me personally yes. I found a character that relates to me more in the present, than holding on to a character in the past.

As for the art side, well to be honest, it doesn't impact that at all. I will still get pieces of art of Ras and all my characters. I might lean to get more rat than normal, but Ras is still very personal to me and he will still get art, despite the change.

As for the second thing, as usual I'm always open to getting joint-commissions. If you see a character you like and want to get some art together, my DM's are always open.

Hey folks! Since it's coming up at the end of the month, I figure I look back this year and reflect a little bit on what happened and hopes for next year.

Online-wise, I'm pretty happy with how things went! I was commissioning artists at a decent rate, got pieces I really loved. Worked with other people that liked my characters. I'm pretty happy with the results. Got more followers on twitter, but that never really mattered to me. On twitter, I just retweet artists in hopes that people like there work and commission them.

Personally...well the first half of the year was rough to be honest. I was depressed from pushing through college for three years. I didn't have time for a lot of things besides work and college. However, I did see the light at the end of the tunnel. I started meeting some friends in person and started making plans to travel. And once college was over, then things looked up! I took a few vacations, I went to Europe to meet old and new friends, and went to a convention there. Went to two more conventions with friends and I actually started to enjoy cons! I got a partial rat suit, which you all know as Ramsey, and I never felt more connected with the community. I'll be honest, I've never felt happier in my life, because I neglected my social life due to college and work. Now that I have the time, I can finally invest in those connections and relations.

What do I want to do this year? Well there are a lot of things...but there are a couple I'm willing to share. First, I would like to keep the pace on commissions, I was pretty happy with the pace and the breaks I had and I'm addicted to supporting artists. I could be better at managing my money in this aspect, but I'll pay closer attention to that.

Second, I would love to get better at socializing. I feel like I'm getting better and I took risks this year. I just want to keep doing that and meet people I vibe with. If I can continue to do that, I think I'll be happier in the long run.

Finally, I want to start finding myself personally and romantically. Online I've gotten a variety of art and just by looking at my gallery, it is hard to see which way I swing. The honest answer to that is I don't know. I support all types of relationships and bodies and because I spent a good chunk of my life working on my career, I never explored it in real life. I would like to start doing that and I would like to find out what I like and don't like. I want to explore this safely and in my comfort zone, so I can figure out what I actually want.

Hey folks, wanted to do a quick update on my posting. So I have 12 pieces I got from wonderful artists, but I have a bad habit of writing stories to art I really like. I'm in the process of doing that and have written four stories between 6 art pieces so far. I have four more to write. My plan is to finish them this week and over the course of a few weeks, post one once a day. I figure it would give people time to enjoy them and it would end the year right.

Even if people don't read the stories, I'm pretty happy with them. Words tend to have more of an impact on me than the art at times, so it is enjoyable to write a story for them.

Second thing is I have a new character to introduce. I have two pieces and once the second piece is posted, I'll be introducing him. I'm excited for him, as it is a species I wanted for awhile. I'm almost at the capacity of the amount of characters I have. I have a plan for one more, but it will have to wait a bit. Expect to see the character soon. Yes-yes.

Hey folks, just wanted to give an update on my situation.

First off, most of my depression was caused by overworking, though I think there is some brain stuff going on in there. Regardless, I finished college and that burden is lifted. I'll continue to manage it on my own, but for the most part, I'm back to my normal stuff.

Second, I was away for most of the week. If I missed commenting on something, I am sorry. Just want you to know that I appreciate all artists, even if I don't comment on it or not.

Just wanted to post an update and reflection on the year overall. In terms of my hobby here, it was a pretty good year overall! I broke out of my comfort zone and I have commission more artist. I still have my favorites, but there has been a bit more variety this year in terms of artists. I will link their profiles on FA below or if they aren't here on this site, I will mention it. But I wanted to thank all the artists this year for bringing my characters to life. They have been a bright spot in what was a rough year for me in my personal life. So thank you all for what you do and I hope to continue doing this with you all for years to come.

I doubt myself sometimes, but I don't regret the money I spent on art at all. It is basically my hobby and it is mostly money I set aside for it. Of course that money could be used in better ways, but I do think about my overall situation and I always conclude that these days, it is extremely difficult to get a place of your own without another person to help (thanks Capitalism!). I could, but I wouldn't have funds for anything else. Call me cynical on this, but 20-40 year-old people haven't had the best time the last 20 years. :\

Regardless, I guess that rolls into my hopes for next year. I will be finishing college in the spring and my hope is to have a bit of a social renaissance! I basically sacrificed my social life in order to go after career and college goals, and I think it is finally time to stop doing that. I am still nervous socially, which is problematic, but if you don't talk to people or get out of your comfort zone, it isn't going to improve. I plan on going to quite a few more conventions and go from there.

If you want advice on this, volunteering for cons or getting roommates for cons helps. It's a way to force you to interact with people.

As for the site, of course I plan on getting more commissions. I have other characters to work with now with Arasen and female Ras and of course Tilvia is a fave of mine and others for some reason. :P
I also would like to work with more characters from others as well, but it is always difficult. It's mostly due to timing of artists, other parties, and of course if we share the same interests and enthusiasm. Not blaming anyone for that, it is a lot to coordinate.
