Am I a masochist or what???
Posted 15 years agoI still have 1,5 month of holidays left. But hey, guess what I do in my free time? I learn about derivative and other f*cked up mathematical things from the upper level ~_~ When I was in high school I attended to 'humanistic' class with major subjects like Polish, English and History. Lol. I chose this type of class because I wanted to study law (if you want to study law and get to the proper uni, you first have to gain awesomesauce score from exam from Polish, English and History), aaand to jump into my dad's "lawyers' mafia" >:D But then I was like... Law is boring anyway, what am I doing??? Then it hit me. Architecture.
Unfortunately it was my second (and the middle) year at high school and I couldn't change my class for that Math one (which of course major subjects were Math and Physics). The problem was that I HAD to pass the exam from upper level math (because the basic one is for morons). I started to learn like a madman. Though I still couldn't catch up with everything that I had missed. I managed though. Still don't know how.
I'm going to study at technical university, which means at least a couple of hours with math a week. Stupid professors won't wait for me, I just have to learn some things now, as I don't want to be kicked out after first few exams....
I am still hopeful. I think that I made a good choice. It's kind of a challenge for me. I've learned to draw animals at the early age. I somehow managed to learn how to draw people, good, in the last three years. But buildings? They are just beautiful. I saw some breathtaking projects/pictures and I thought "I want to create these things as well!" There's something that I both love and hate about drawing buildings. They look amazing when finished, but you can't cheat an eye (like we sometimes can when it comes to people and such). If you make even a small mistake, it's clearly visible (at least for an experienced person). So you have to try hard, very hard. Still there's AutoCad :P
But the cherry from the top of the cake is when you can see your project rise in front of you, when it becomes real.

$4 per character (price updated on 16.08.2010) It's just one dollar. I've saved some cash (from prev commissions too) already but I'm still afraid. I just don't know how much I'll really need. I think that $4 is not much considering that some people take $10 and more :)

Posted 15 years agoSo I thought of doing a fully coloured commission. I mean one semi-realistic (or whatever you can call my style) character with simple background. Something like the icons I've been doing but this time whole body.
I think that the price of 25$ isn't that much. And if you would REALLY like to add a background (cuz it's time consuming) add next 25$ >_> Sometimes bgs alone take more time than painting a character.

Posted 15 years agoYeah, finally. My arm is aching after 5 hours of drawing with no break. I had to draw 2 pictures (50x70 cm and a half of that size). The tasks from previous years were quite easy, I mean easy to draw/imagine. You didn't have to draw a lot.
But today morning, when I was taking the exam, it HAD to be REAL BAD. The themes were time-consuming and well, not so easy.

Yeah, 5 hours is so much time.
I have to relax a bit, then I'll start drawing avatars again.

I am REALLY sorry for my absence on FA. I had no free time in the past few months due to the last year in high school and final exams. :(
I still have one exam (drawing exam kekeke >3) to go, in the end of July. It's a must if I want to get to the architectural studies. Oh well, I'm sure it will be fine :3
As of commissions. I thought of sketch commissions with shading, you know, the pencil-like. (I would like to make the traditional ones however my scanner is broken D: And I will have to use a graphic programme). I am open for any suggestions though. I can draw in any style, realistic, semi-realistic, cartoonish. I like all of them :3 I'm afraid that the price would vary because of the style ( you know, realistic= more detailed picture).
The price? 10$-15$ ? D: Dunno, really. I want to do these detailed sketch commissions with shading as they do not acquire a lot of time, pics with colouring and bgs are just time-consuming, I might consider doing them after my last exam.
I'll try to upload more pictures tomorrow :3 It's past 1 a.m. over here and I'm really tired ^^"
