Finally Updated
Posted 10 years agoFinally got around to updating my FA. Thought I'd update my journal too as although I don't have anything to say, having a 2 year old journal on my front page was really annoying me!

vain?
Posted 14 years agoI have pictures of Alfa (as in fursuit) as my desktops and backgrounds on everything. I realised a few days ago that that is basically just pictures of myself. In a 'suit all be it, but it's still me in there.
I spend hours a day actively - or more usually passively while doing something else, but still - looking at pictures of myself thinking how good I look. Often, thinking thoughts I usually reserve for behind closed doors filter groups.
What struck me was that I don't see me in those pictures, I see Alfa. However, that is me in the pictures. There's no getting away from that.
So, does that make me vain? Narcissistic perhaps? Just strange?
He is hot though, no question! ^^

Yays and Gays - 26th January Two Thousand and Hen
Posted 16 years agoSo, back again with another Yays and Gays! *Yay!*
After the last round of Yays and Gays feedback was mostly positive so until you all bitch and whine so much I can't take it any more you'll all just have to put up with my ramblings *Yippee!*
In personal news today I'm still applying for jobs *Yay!* however with not near half the success I had in Portsmouth. I guess there must be a bigger, better talent pool for the roles I'm looking for in this area. *Gay!* But I've applied for well over fifty jobs now so something has got to come though, right? *Amen!*
In wider news, one of the local pubs in the town has just been bought out. *Yay!* Not by Wetherspoons as we'd hoped, *Queer!* so as to drive down alcohol prices in the town and keep the scum away from all the good bars in the evening. Rather, a Prezzo is moving in, so yet another Mid-range Mocktallian eatery. *Gash!* Don't get me wrong, the food there is lovely and at very fair prices but with a Zizzi practically next door, Pizza Express two doors down and a host of indipendant Mocktallian restaurants in the town, that niech was kind of already catered for. *Poof!*
Nationally, the country is officially out of recession *Hoorah!* with the posting of growth figures for the fourth quarter of 09 showing a weaker-than-expected 0.1% growth. This is, though a small figure not insignificant at all. It is the first recorded growth in the UK economy since the first quarter of 08, the longest period of economic shrinkage since quarterly figures were first recorded in 1955. *Fag!* Unemployment fell also, the first time in 18 months it has declined rather than increased. *Booyah!* It's yet to be seen though whether this can stick with many prominent economist forecasting a 'W' shaped economic pattern. *Flaps!*
So, it's goodbye from me *Yay!* and it's goodbye from him *Awesome!*
Until next time, happy mocktallian economic jobseeking to you all!

Some tips to avoid shark attack
Posted 16 years ago1. Don't swim in the sea
More then 99% of all shark attacks happen in large water masses, also known as oceans. The way to establish if you're in an ocean is to taste the water. It should taste salty.
2. Swim with fat people
Always make sure there are fat people in the water before you enter. Chances are you will be able to swim faster than them and save yourself.
3. Don't go in the water without a knife
This is to stab the nearest swimmer when you see a shark. As soon as he/she bleeds profusely, swim as fast as you can to the shore and claim you tried your best to save him/her. You might end up getting an award for bravery.
4. listen intently
All sharks have a 'theme song' - if you hear the following, swim for your life: da-dam, da-dam, da-dam. If it sounds like this: dadam dadam dadam you're already a goner.
5. Don't Pannic
Stay calm when a shark bites you. It's already over, you're gone and it doesn't help to try and survive. The people on the shore will appreciate it, they don't want to hear your mad yelling and screaming, it's not nice. Please think of the children.

Yays and Gays - 18teeth January 2010
Posted 16 years agoSo, I'm all too aware that people will be wanting to hear a comment on the subject of Lupus and I. Unfortunately because of time constraints and my utter lack of wanting to talk about it right now *gay!* we'll just have to continue on regardless.
So, the job search starts again *fag* but with courage behind me this time, as it certainly was a very nice surprise to get call backs from some of the jobs I applied for that I believed to be well above my station. *yipee!* Proper management positions and the like, which lets be fair I don't have the experience for *poof* but I guess I know how to write a good CV! *hoorah!*
In other news I cooked today for my hard working wolf. *cheers* Taking my recipe from 'The Bovril Cookbook'. Choosing the chilli over everything else because I had the ingredients for it handy and that's what I was going to cook anyway! It really did add something really quite special to it *yays* even if I did manage to not find the chillis in the fridge and have to use the last of our chilli powder to make up for it. *raging homo!*
So, a short one today, can't be arsed with more. *boobies!* now was that supposed to be a good or bad review of my statement? *slut* Still, what? *dick* Ahhh, I see. *win!*
From us,

Furries on Brazilian TV - Watch out for my foxxie self!
Posted 16 years agoThe Brazilian television show 'Fantastico' ran a piece on furries and showed up to a Londonfur Meet to see how the Brits do it. They spoke to a few of us and got footage of the fursuit walk. They have an article on their website about it which I have badly translated below (it's like one of those self assembly instruction manuals! =P) and they were good enough to have some footage on the site too. However I have nicked it and put it on youtube too, for posterity.
For the record, I am the fox with the big tail and light camo' trousers and
werewolfoflondon is the buff guy in the glasses who they're interviewing at the end.

The Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koDsK6ZBIaY
The Babel Fish Translation:
"Young if they dress of animals of pelúcia for pure diversion
“Furry” is a person who if dresses as an animal. They themselves create the pelúcia clothes, that arrive to cost R$1 a thousand more than.
Animals taking a walk for the supermarket? For shopping? Would be an invasion, the revolt of the animals? Nothing of this! A group if dressed with pelúcia clothes and left for there. The criançada one adored!
” I taste very of these bichinhos”, count Mariana Ribeiro, 6 years.
“I do not have fear, because I know that is fantasiada person”, she affirms Maiara Ribeiro, 9 years.
Owner August Maria liked what the children more than. ” They go for street dresses thus? ”, the pensioner asks. Yes, they go!
After all, who is this group? They are “furries”, the word come of the English “fur” that she is for the one in Portuguese.
Maira and Leandro are a type of furry - they are “fursuiters” - people who if dress as the animal. They themselves create the pelúcia clothes, that arrive to cost R$1 a thousand more than. E thus, Maira if transforms into the wolf Kouta and Leandro in the Zuthar dog.
” The animal in general is the choice of the person, what it feels that it is”, Maira “Kouta Oni” explains, student.
They explain that they are not creating no newness. “If you will be to think, come since old, of the part of Egypt, legends of deuses with heads of animals, only that at that time this did not exist to use fancy”, observes Leandro “Zuthar”, security.
Only that nor all “furries” leave for there using the fancies. Some like to create personages who only exist in the drawings and games of the Internet.
“It is group of people that has interest the same, therefore when people speak of furry, people say “fandom” that she represents the universe of the fans”, count Iara Coutinho “Tiamat”, to designer.
It is a universe similar to the one of the people who like Japanese drawings, histories in quadrinhos and series of TV. Only that in the case of furries, the art is to mix animal and human beings.
In London also it is in fashion if to dress of animal and to leave for the street making bagunça. “When I am with the fancy, I can leave for the street hugging the people and to gain many smiles”, says a youngster who if dresses of tiger.
It is difficult to understand? An engineer makes a summary of what is to be one furry - is to be glad and to also make other happy people!"

Yays and Gays - 8th 'Jaznuary' 2010
Posted 16 years agoSome of you who have been watching my LJ for a while will recognise the format and remember my attempt at satirical comedy - with added childish taunts. Well you, and everyone else will be glad to know, no, ecstatic to find, mind not so ecstatic your attention is drawn from the main point of focus of course, more, quietly delighted, that 'Yays and Gays' will be making a comeback and will be receiving a regular spot right here, on this journal, here, well not there exactly, all round here, all of this.
So lets begin - yay! - very good glad to see you're still with us Mr voice of the Yay and Gay. People I'd like to introduce you to The Voice, Voice to the people - gay! - I'm sure most of them are, yes, but what they do in their own time is up to them and who are we to pry?
Snow! Everywhere! - yay! - so pretty snow, how could we not talk about it? The news certainly can't stop. You'd have thought that the rest of the world world had actually ceased to function to marvel at our two inches - snigger - make your own jokes, but the world goes on. Slower and kind of more dangerously skiddy than before, but on it goes none-the-less. It's not all pretty fields and the first footprints of a bracing morning though. Schools are closed, - yay! - people cut off, - gay! - so much work missed - awesome! - and the public transport is a running joke, in that it's not running at all! - not cool! - no, not cool at all, more death-of-us-all-freezingly cold actually.
Elsewhere, MP's are still spending money that isn't theirs and other people are trying to take back from them what they already said was okay - cheeky buggers! - but then I guess, ignoring the arguments of fairness sympathy has to run thin for them as they were screwing the loopholes in the system to get it all in the first place and with backdating vehicle excise duties they have only done to us what they say is unfairly being done to them. - Bunch of whining ghays! -
Northern Ireland has provided some good news stories with the first minister's wife having dodgy, extra marital affairs and rather questionable financial affairs to boot! - the shame! - Seems having a man with power wasn't enough for her. She wanted more. Though having seen the emotionless, insincere and tired statement he gave in response to all this I can't imagine he's a real thriller in the bedroom - ooooh, kinky! - or for that matter anywhere else! - gay! -
In world news, Obama is going to cramp down on holes in security and failings in intelligence. I thought with the government change in the US the failing in intelligence had been dealt with, but apparently he left a long lasting legacy! - nitwit! - some other things happened around the world in the last few days but it truly is quite hard to find anything of much interest - lazy! - watch it you, I don't have to type you y'know - homo! - I'll ignore that. There has been some death and bad news and more death and to be honest I really don't want to write about that. its not really the done thing to laugh at the unfortunate and unfair - HA! Corpse! - that sickens me a little - Poof! - why must this always descend into you just calling me names?
Anyway, from Myself and the The Voice I bid you farewell and I hope you all have a joyous and gay day - YAY! -

Finally some time since MFF
Posted 16 years agoRight, firstly I want to say - oh mah gawd I've been busy! I haven't stopped since MFF it self with work and finishing off the house...and catching up on sleep =P
Sorry if I've seemed really quiet, it's not that I don't want to talk, just that I really can't find the time to at the moment! Thanks to anyone who's watched me or favourited any of the pictures I've put up. It'd take me an age to go through each one thanking everyone so I'll just leave a blanket thank you here.
What with being so busy I've not had a chance to update anyone on my life recently so I'm going to try and sum it all up here, from MFF untill now:
Firstly, big thanks go out to Dream, Ryu, Ket and of course Frisky for putting up with my guttural throat-warblings at MFF. You guys are awesome and I can't wait to meet up with you all again. Of course, the door is always open over here should you find yourself in my neck of the woods!
To everyone I met at MFF - and there were so many! To many to list all the names here - Whether I met you for the first time at MFF or whether I knew you before but hadn't met you in person, it was lovely to meet you. I hope we can meet again sooner rather than later. I'll be at MFF next year but it might be a while until I can get to several of the US cons in one year, so I'm afraid your rationed to a single serving of Alfa per 356 days for now! =P
MFF was awesome. The people made it it's fair to say but the con seemed to run very smoothly and seemed to have a fantastic atmosphere. I regret missing a couple of things but overall I'm pretty satisfied I did the con good.
I'll be uploading overdue pics from MFF all day today, either side of my pig-flu vaccination (wish me luck for that, I hate needles!) and they will be followed up by pictures from last weeks Londonfur Christmas Party. Two parties all in one day, aren't you lucky! ^^
Apart from that I've been working my little fox-socks off in the busy Christmas period. It's the busiest we've had yet since the store opened and it's really knocking me for six. I don't think I've ever worked so hard! It's fun though, keeps me on my toes and my tail wagging.
Enough Blah from me now, I must dash and clean and tidy the house and get stabbed by a nurse and stuff like that!
Busy fox out!

Of evil and the beast
Posted 16 years agoOkay, I'm starting to get worried. As Iron Maiden famously said, the number of the beast is 666. Well I've been having a lot of run-ins with it lately. A LOT of run-ins.
About 3 or 4 days ago at work I was serving someone and their order came to £6.66. A strange little coincidence but no less likely than any other number coming up. Factor in that it came up SIX times that day. SIX! Six orders in one day al coming to £6.66, that's stretching a coincidence into an alarming pattern.
Then, a couple of days later I look at the list of who I'm watching on FA and realise that there are six hundred and sixty six of them...theres that number again!
Now, I look at the comments recieved figure on FA and yup, you guessed it, 666 again.
What's even more concerning is that during the process of writing this journal I've hit the number six key by accident, three times. Spelling, yeah, there it is again 6-6-6!
I'm a sceptic to these things and like to think they are just random events and coincidences exaggerated by a wish to find certain patterns or codes but honestly, it's getting beyond a joke now!

Expectations
Posted 16 years agoExpect picture submissions to come soon.
I've not uploaded anything new for a while and thanks to not suiting since CF I've had no new material for even me to enjoy.
This will all be rectified over the weekend, when I make full use of the Londonfur Meet and the 10 year anniversary afterparty to suit my furry little butt off.
Expect pictures, lots of them!
I truly can't wait for what will surely be a momentous occasion.
I R CaMra HoRE!

Alright Im ready
1) Of the many pets I've owned over the years some of the stranger ones include gerds, a snake, crabs and snails.
2) I have high riding patellas, which means my kneecaps arein the wrong place.
3) I changed my name by deedpoll to Alfa Fox, which makes conversations about my fursuit challenging.
4) I'm a metalhead and my favourite bands are metallica, iron maiden, system of a down, rage against the machine, lacuna coil and...well I guess there's too many to list, I like them all!
5) Back in the day I was ranked 3rd best in the world and 2nd in the UK at the game this is football 2004 or was it 03...it was a long time ago either way =P
6) I've appeared in the national publication bizarre, in the form of fursuit photos (so rather, Alfa has appeared in...) twice now.
7) I am right handed, though thanks to a temporary paralysis after a bike accident when I was 15 I'm pretty well practised with my left hand too.
8) My IQ is 214 - oh hang on - true you say - scratch that one then! =P
And I tag...
Anyone who wants to do it. I'm too lazy to choose specifics.
*yips*

The Fandom's Favourite Fursuit Fracas
Posted 16 years agoAlfa's turn for voting in the fursuit tourney: The Fandom's Favourite Fursuit Fracas, has come. He'll be judged by the furries of the community over the space of the next 24 hours or so...
However, I swore I wouldn't do this. I swore that it wouldn't matter this much. I swore I wouldn't care if I didn't win...
I WAS WRONG!
This is why I need you! I need you to get yourself over there to register your vote and to show your support for London's cheekiest green haired urban fox.
Please, I implore you, just a few seconds of your time...to save me from utter despair and failure. Is it so much to give??? I mean, it's not like I'm asking for you to set up a direct debit or anything! =P
In the sport of good sportsmen showing good sportmanship while sporting, however. I hope the best fuzzybutt wins...
