Aaaaand... merry x-mas!
Posted 14 years agoJust wanted to shout out a "merry christmas and a happy new year" to all of ya - I know it's a bit early but there's a change that I'm clumsy enough to forget it... so better now than never! :)
This year has been somewhat different for me, not only art-wise: figured out that life is not always about avoiding unknown situations because a lot of times that way you might just miss out on what could turn out to be a life-changing experience.
Besides that, I've been investing a lot of time to improve my 3d-animation-skills during the last 6 or so months which also explains why there hasn't been all that much going on in my FA-gallery. Yep, my kitty San is eager to be drawn again and I'd absolutely love to do that - but I gotta finish that 3d-project first before I can set my mind on drawing new pics again.
So yeah... blah... xD Pretty much sums up this year for me. I wish all of you a merry christmas and... in about 2 weeks... a happy new year! :3

Cuuuuurse you, Skyrim! D:
Posted 14 years agoYou know what - I expected this to happen! Pretty much every time a new Elder Scrolls game is realeased, most of my spare time is spent wandering around in that new part of Tamriel. Gosh, I love those games - but why on earth are they so enormously huge? :< Been playing the game for around 45 hours now and it feels like I haven't even seen 10% of the game's content yet... My kitty San has been begging me to draw her again + I've got some animation-projects to do - and yet, Skyrim won't let me go and do other things before I've at least finished that darn main-quest xD
Good thing they don't release these types of games every single year, would totally ruin my life. Anyone got the same problem? >_>

Busy, busy...
Posted 14 years agoCurrently very busy with important stuff outside the fur-art area... hence the lack of new pictures D:
Will return with new pics once I'm done with that other stuff. Can't really tell when I'm finished but don't expect it to happen too soon. Sorry x_O

BBBBBB-Day!
Posted 14 years agoYesssh!
As pointed out correctly by KittyFlame and DragonsMaster: it's my birthday today! :D Still a bit lazy after eating probably the largest pizza I've ever seen with colleagues from my company so I probably won't do a lot of partying tonight - gonna relax and spend the evening with my family instead :) I split up with my girlfriend two days ago so I'm still in a slightly somber mood - fortunately, my birthday is a chance to think about more happy things again. That's life x3

Oslo
Posted 14 years agoMy deepest regrets go out to the victims and people who got injured during today's tragic events in Oslo. Having relatives in this part of norway myself, I was relieved to hear that none of them were hurt. Still, I don't understand why these things do have to happen at all. Kinda lost for words here, feels like I can't fully realize what happened today.
Will be on vacation during the next weeks and probably not online a lot - just in case you're wondering why I might not immediately reply to comments on FA.
Take care, guys!

Proof that I'm the clumsiest person on earth
Posted 14 years agoThat's just soooo typical for me: bought an iTunes-card today - while trying to scratch off the grey panel on the card a bit too enthusiastically, I actually managed to turn half of the code into something not even remotely recognizable. Completely FUBAR. Gotta wait another 24 hours before the Apple-Support sends me the correct code now. Hopefully.
Sometimes, I hate myself. I really do... o_o
I mean, that's even more embarrassing than that one occasion where I almost ripped my leg off while trying to get out of wolflife's car but... that's another story.

No pencils for me :<
Posted 15 years agoNever mind, this is just a... completely random "I'm annoyed"-Journal.
I've bought four new cupboards since the last one I had for my clothes literally fell apart. So since saturday, I've basically done nothing else but building and repairing a couple of new IKEA-cupboards for my clothes and books and I'm seriously getting sick of it. *rolls eyes* Can't even find my tablet-pen due to the fact that the stuff that used to be in the cupboards is now spread all over the floor - and somewhere in there, I guess it's hidden... I seriously start missing it as all of my pencils and sketchbooks share the same fate - lost in the depths of my room, somewhere between a ton of clothes and age-old books o_O
As for the commissions I mentioned in my last journal: I'm still not sure if the things I'm planning ahead will work out but I might know in february. I'm currently working on an art-portfolio in order to be able to start studying in an art college and... well, I'm afraid they aren't really interested in seeing fur-porn as part of the application xD So at the moment (or at least as soon as I find my pencils again), I spend my time drawing "safe for work" things - completely without kitties, tits or foxes with sandwiches :< *cries*
Oh well - there's a good chance this will change soon again x3

Xmas!
Posted 15 years agoAhoy guys!
Maybe a bit too early but during the few weeks before christmas this year I feel like there's even less time for preparing anything christmas-related than usual. Still gotta buy and wrap a few presents even though there's hardly a chance I'll be able to deliver them in time >.<
So before I accidentally forget it: Merry XMas and a happy new year to all of you! :3
Looks like we're having a white, icy christmas here in northern germany - which is a good thing unless you plan to spend a lot of time outside the house. ;) Since I'm a rather clumsy person (I'm one of those few people on the planet who are actually able to lose a leg while leaving a car xD) I think I'll spend most of the time indoor, relaxing, drawing and preparing some things for next year.
Off-topic: I might be able to accept commissions early next year - prices and details will be included in one of the following journals ^^

And another birthday o_O
Posted 15 years agoOh no - that day again! xD Wasn't the last one only like... umm... a year ago? -.-
Anyway, trying to have a nice day, as usual :) Kinda sucks when you gotta go to work on a birthday though , keeping in mind the unwritten rule which states that you need to bring along cakes for the colleagues, of course ;P And I know, they are a greedy bunch, demanding more and more cake every year o_o
Thanks also to all of you guys for supporting the pictures I've been uploading to FA during the last 5 and a half years :) And a special thanks to my close friends - I've gone and still am going through some rather difficult times - thanks for being there, guys! Wouldn't know what to do without you.

Horror flicks!
Posted 15 years agoNo idea if I've asked that before, but since I'm in the mood for watching horror movies at the moment (*coughalmosthalloweencough* x3), I'd be interested to hear what kinda of horror movies you like to watch.
While I like seeing the splattery-gory ones among them (splattery... mmmmm xD), I do tend to prefer movies which slowly build up an eerie and extremely tense atmosphere. A lot of asian directors are able to pull that off extremely well, but as with everything, it really depends on who watches them. My sis for example was bored to sleep while watching the japanese version of "The Ring" (Ringu) but couldn't stand watching even a censored version of "Saw" xD
There are a couple of things I noticed, especially for horror films:
- characters: they absolutely need to be believable - doesn't really help the atmosphere if the main character is a damn one-man army, able to kill off enemies without blinking o_O Which doesn't mean that the hero needs to be some average guy living next door - it's just that you in some way need to sympathise with them, otherwise you couldn't care less if they live or die
- Let the viewer feel that there is always something the camera does not see
- use of shadows and light: becomes really obvious if you look at something like "Alien" where dark actually IS dark.
- NEVER let the viewer see what the monster sees! xD That's just... not scary at all
- Creepy music and sound-effects! :D But nothing too cheesy
Coming to think of creepy things, did anyone happen to play a game called "Amnesia"?
off-topic: just one more week and I'll feel a lot older again *cries* -.-

NININTENDO 64!! (and a few words about trades & commissions)
Posted 15 years agoGuess what? :D Me and my sis just dug out our old beloved N64, gonna try to beat Ocarina of Time once more. Or what about some Banjo & Kazooie? Or... *gasps* GoldenEye? Ah, choices, choices...
Such a great console, so many memories connected to that thing ^^ Maaaaan, can't even remember how many times that device was the reason why I forgot to do my homework for school...
---
*coughs* Umm, back to the furry stuff: got lots and lots of sketches I haven't really got around to color yet. Can't really decide which to finish and which ones to ditch xD More... naughty stuff or more... not so naughty stuff? Well, I guess I'll figure that out at some point x3
I've recently often been asked if I do trades or commissions, here's what I usually answer...
Trades:I do trades, but usually only with close friends. Same counts for gift-pictures.
Commissions: Currently not, but I'm considering that at some point later this year. If I do accept commishs, I'll let you know via my journal here ;3
'nuff said. Happy easter! ^^

Baaaaad idea, really...
Posted 15 years agoSorry for not really updating a lot recently - it's just as usual: so much porn to draw, so little time... >.> Got tons of ideas for pictures I'd like to draw but my work and other real life issues often keep draining me of every bit of energy each day... oh well, I guess you know what I mean.
Combine that with the release of a couple of really interesting video games recently *coughmasseffecttwocough* and voilà, the result: AmbberFox turns into the mighty "LazyBumFox" and plays games instead of drawing new pictures. *sigh* That's just typical for me, y'know...
If this sounds just like the typical sort of whining you'd expect in a journal like this - it actually is! ^^' Just wanted to let you guys know why it's hard for me to update my gallery regularly these days - not even mentioning the fact that I currently have trouble drawing or even looking at pictures containing furry pornography without completely going nuts - don't ask me why, let's just say that for the next 3 weeks or so, doing that might be a really bad idea. Go figure... x3

Hangover aka Happy New Year!
Posted 16 years ago*sigh*
Ok, gotta admit I'm the kind of guy who usually doesn't and shouldn't drink too much - a fact I obviously forgot New Years Eve and painfully came to realize again yesterday. >_>
You know those days, when you wake up around 3pm in the afternoon, everything seems blurry, your stomach feels like it's turning inside out and your head hurts as if you've constantly banged it against an anvil for the past 3 or 4 hours? Exactly, that kind of day...
Anyway, a happy new year 2010 to all of you furry folks out there! ^_^
Let's just hope you didn't get as drunk as I did. And if you did, maybe you got at least laid the next day as that is said to be the best way to get rid of hangovers ;P

Posted 16 years agoMerry christmas and a happy new year to all of you! For the first time in what feels like forever, we'll have a white christmas here in northern germany. Which makes this year pretty special in my opinion *stares at the snow falling outside* o.o

Animation stuff
Posted 16 years agoA little something I've been wondering lately: I've been interested in animation and the creation of animated movies ever since I can remember. However, as I'm from germany (you know, that pesky little country somewhere in the middle of europe), where animation is mainly something considered to be unprofitable arts, I've never really been inclined to get in touch with the animation industry here.
So I've been wondering lately: In case I might be interested in studying animation in the US, is there any place (a website, college) where I can obtain some more in-detail informations about that topic? ^^
And just in case I'm seeing all this too blue-eyed: does it even make sense to study animation these days? Been hearing a lot about how hard it is to get into the industry, which I guess is true. But yet, I think I'd really like to give it a try, you never know... ;3
By the way, less than a month to go until my next birthday :D And visiting my buddy
ipoke in Vienna next week, really looking forward to that as well.

What else do you draw?
Posted 16 years agoLooking at pictures here on FA, I often wonder a bit what other type of things you guys usually tend to draw or paint when you're not in the mood for fur-related pictures - assuming you actually draw something different at all. ^^
Personally, I try to keep a 50/50 balance: half of the stuff I draw in my free time is (obviously) fur related, which includes around... umm... an estimated amount of 80% porn, pinup-poses and naughty close-ups of certain female body-parts. *coughs*
It's actually a bit gross if you think about it - there's a reason why I often think I'm a complete perv, by non-furry standards. xD
The other half of the pictures I try to draw (and which I rarely upload here) have a non-furry theme, mainly fantasy-based, sci-fi or something including aliens or weird looking monsters of some sort. Most important for me in this non-furry category and something which I've been practicing ever since I can imagine: humans. I find it always a bit amusing to hear that a lot of people who draw furs generally don't like drawing humans, even though you can benefit a lot from practicing them.
And, come on, furs and humans aren't aaaall that different - just swap the head with a human one, remove the tail and fur, shrink the genitals to a decent size and voilà: there you go, you've turned your furry character into a human. Sorta. ;3
I'd find it interesting to hear what other kind of things you guys draw, why you draw them or - if you actually prefer to draw furs only- why not.

Bolt
Posted 16 years agoAfter reading a lot of positive comments about Disney's latest animated 3D-movie "Bolt", I decided to finally give it a try and see it for myself on DVD.
Considering the fact that this movie was not produced by Pixar but instead by Disney, I was a little reluctant at first as the Disney Studios have recently had the habit of creating rather awkward and uninspired stuff like "Meet the Robinsons" or "Chicken Little"; both of which managed to make me yawn constantly while watching them. >_>
Fortunately, "Bolt" came as a bit of a positive surprise here: It only took a couple of minutes before I realized that I actually liked this movie - a lot.
In my opinion it's pretty much the first Disney-produced 3D-movie that is well worth seeing as it features many of those aspects that most of the recent Disney-3d-movies seemed to lack in one way or another: really likeable characters, a good plot, nice music and lots of witty scenes. Definitely one of my favorite animated movies of recent times along with Pixar's "Ratatouille" and "WALL-E". ^^
Like mentioned above, especially the character-design and the way the characters interact with each other is why I really liked it that much. My only hope is that "Bolt" won't remain the only good film of this type by them - what about a second Bolt-movie at some point? I'd definitely watch that one. ;D

Apocalypse Meow
Posted 16 years agoCame across something quite unusual this friday: A japanese animation-studio is currently working on an 3d-animated anime series based on a manga called "Cat Shit One" which was initially set during the vietnamese war.
To me, the trailer looks a bit like "Black Hawk Down" combined with all sorts cute animals as characters - killing each other. You can check it out on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr4QBZfjtqs
I don't wanna spark off a discussion about the obvious references to the war in Iraq here - just thought some of you might find that interesting... ;)

A site a couple of colleagues discovered at work. I know there are a lot of sites likes this one, but this guy really seems to know a lot more characters than any other similar site I've come across. Hell, he even knows Francis from the felidae-movies! :D Time to teach him a couple more characters from the fur-community...

Movies!
Posted 16 years agoI'm the type of person who really enjoys watching movies while drawing or coloring stuff on the computer - anything from Sci-Fi, animated, war-themed or fantasy.
The problem is: I'm currently running out of good movies to watch - seen the ones I liked a bit too often by now - so in case you've got any suggestions: drop me a line. :)
Talking about movies: I've seen "Watchmen" with a couple of friends yesterday and gotta admit, I was rather disappointed. Sure, the style was cool, it had plenty of neat gore-filled scenes ... But overall, I found it only mildly entertaining, the first half of it even slightly boring.
I liked Snyder's "300" and "Dawn of the dead" quite a lot, but this one... Definitely didn't live up to what I expected. :/

Merry Xmas!
Posted 17 years agoTime for the yearly "Merry christmas and a happy new year to all of you"-Journal!
Thanks a lot for the amazing amount of favs and comments on "Saloon", gonna reply to them once I'm through the regular "gotta-buy-presents-for-everybody-in-my-family"-time that usually occurs a couple of hours before christmas eve.
Yep, I'm one of those who always have to wait until the last minute before rushing to the shops, desperately trying to find some suitable presents but failing miserably every time.
Well, anyway... Have a nice christmas! =^^=

Work on pictures currently on hold due to...
Posted 17 years ago... Fallout 3! xD
Sorry guys, the reason for the current lack of new pictures is that I simply fell in love with that game, probably the most engaging RPG I've been playing since Morrowind or Oblivion. ^^'
Been able to get hold of the UK-Version, so now I'm able to experience the full glory of exploding heads, flying eyeballs and dismembered legs while pretty much everyone else here in good ol' germany has to play a crippled version that doesn't even contain blood.
Oh well, heading back to the capital wasteland now. New pictures are gonna follow once I'm done wasting those damn Super Mutants, figuring out where my dad is and finishing those errands for Moira. :3

I will soon contribute a commission to
