Rules:

Post up a journal with 10 things you'd like for Christmas. We suggest at least 5 of these be taxidermy-related

Make sure to try and send other people gifts, even just sending a card is nice!

Asking for non-taxidermy items is fine, but if you don't want any, this might be the wrong secret Santa for you.

Wishlist:


List 10 items you'd like to get; the list can be as detailed or blunt as you like.


1. Mutation foxes! Anything from scraps to a full hide would be much appreciated.

Though I'd absolutely love a full kit fox or swift fox hide. I'd love to try my hand at making a soft mount of my own or an art doll.



2. Anything Fox, wolf, or coyote in terms of taxidermy, from skulls to pelts, etc. Please don't send me a green pelt or untanned products. I don't really have the room to tan them. Please have them tanned. Same with if you send me any fox/ coyote tail,s etc.- please have them be tanned products.



3. Framed/ pinned Butterflies, Moths, Dragon Flies ( I collect these and display them.

Butterflies in resin, maybe a tarantula/ scorpion in resin. But no other insectoids, please. Amber/fossilized pieces in resin.

As well shocking discovery No. The USDA does not require permits for dead butterflies or dead moths- unless they are invasive or pest bugs that can destroy crops.



4. An alligator or gator skull or taxidermized alligator head, or a tanned piece of alligator or crocodile skin, maybe some gator/ crocodilian teeth.

(Like the ones you see in Floridian Gift shops, I know likely not to happen, but I can wish.)



5. Collectable Memoria from my Favorite games and shows: Okami is my absolute Favorite video game. Okami is a game you play as a white wolf deity. If someone could get me a physical copy of the PS4 remaster, that would be amazing, since I own my own Disk version of PS5. That would be amazing.



6. I collect crystals and Fossils, so any of these are absolutely adored. I'd love to get more shark teeth and or maybe even a T. rex or Raptor claw or Tooth would be awesome! Replicas would be awesome as well. ( Please make sure these specimens are identified & labeled.)



7. I love getting cards for the holidays, or even a postcard from your state or country would be awesomesauce! Regardless, Holiday greeting Cards are absolutely fine.





8. We’re all artists here, so art! Doesn’t matter if it’s a print from someone well-known or some stickers you made. I collect stickers as well, I actually have a sticker book & appreciate always getting more stickers from various artists to fill it. I normally prefer animal-related stickers. Especially where I am a furry, and if you send me stickers. I am likely to send you some stickers of my furs-onas that I have printed by a professional sticker printing company.

Please don't send me anything AI - I am not a fan of Ai AI-generated artwork.



9. Dog supplies such as dog treats and toys, etc. My boyfriend has told me that he's gonna get me a puppy dog for my birthday or possibly in 2026. Worst case it doesn't happen, I will donate the dog supplies to my local shelter that is always needed or has a wish list for those supplies. Though my boyfriend has been thinking of getting a dog where he's seen how I have been down and depressed after +2 years of not fostering a dog through the rescue group that I used to foster through.



10. Tarantula supplies. I own like 10-15 pet tarantulas and can always appreciate more decor for them or their cages. Please be small decor where I have limited space in my tarantula enclosures.

(Worst case, I'll send you back one of my tarantula molts if you are into it. Though a lot of the time, my tarantulas just tear them up and toss them all over their enclosures. Worst case, you'll get a small vial with a couple of tarantula legs in it.



11: Unpainted DND miniatures & Miniature kits. I have taken up practicing painting DND miniatures. Or if they are 3d printed miniature figures, even better. I have a blast with those. The miniature DND paint kits would be absolutely appreciated. ( Who knows, I might paint one and send it back. I like the animals/ dragon themed ones.)

Restrictions:
I live in a house. But please don't send me untanned fur/ Green hides as I likely wouldn't want to have tan it. Nor do I have supplies to tan green or untanned hides.



Bird parts: USA migratory bird acts. It's illegal to accept bird parts and bird feathers picked up from outside from native game birds. ( While Domestic & Pet birds aren't prohibited. Wild and game birds tend to be an iffy subject. Through Fish and Game, etc.)

Wet Specimens: I do not want any wet specimens due to not liking them. Wet specimens oddly weird me out & are not my thing.

Allergies: Mildly allergic to domestic cats. So please don't send me any domestic cat products, parts, or taxidermy cat furs or pelts such as bobcat or lynx.



No rodent parts, please. I have plenty of frozen rats and mice in my freezer due to owning previously owning pet snakes.





Let's play safe this year and just send me predator animal skulls, bones, claws, and fossils. Also, Cougar and Bear pieces/ are illegal if not tagged with FDA and CITES tags. So do not send me cougar or bear pieces if they are not properly labeled. Actually, you know what- make sure what you send me has a note attached so then I can know what species of animal it's from. Be it bone or pelt or claw, etc., and where it's sourced from.

( I have experienced previous years with nothing labeled or noted on where it was sourced from. I love those little notes with mention where stuff is species + sourced, etc.)

How do you play this game? Do not tell someone that you are sending them something in the mail; just send them something random. You can message for their address, etc, or gift them something digitally, etc. I will mention if anyone sends me something via Secret Santa they will get something randomly sent back.

I have been participating for years in this secret Santa; it's likely my 8th time doing this fun mailbox swap. Lot of the time it's just sending random holiday cards back and forth with postage. I know postage is getting expensive, but this is just to send some holiday cheer and fun to send postcards, etc.

Help Boise Reptile Alley, they need more help than ever now. They are a staple in the Reptile community in Idaho. Help them fund a new location. They normally don't like to ask for help or support, but they need it, and if you cannot help,p please share. We know furries like animals, and I know some would love to help if everyone donated a dollar, their goal would be met beyond.

It's a shame that their current location, which they call home, is forcing them to close and find a new location.
Tho, in my opinion, I bet they'd welcome a bigger location anyway, where they have slowly outgrown their small strip location.
Please show them some love, and if you cannot donate, please share this around, get the word out.
Worst case, donate a dollar; every little bit helps. Let's help them max their goal.
If every fur or everyone donated a dollar, they'd be more than in the green to help find an amazing new location for their reptile pet store.
I have nothing but good things to say about this reptile pet store They have done good things and amazing things for the reptile community.
They don't deserve this, with their landlord being unfair and saying that both Reptile Alley and Boise Reptile Zoo have to close their doors and find a new location here relatively soon.

It's that time again! Anthro Weekend Utah 2024 July meme!

Arrival and Departure: Leaving Thursday, I should be there Thurs- Sunday.
I should be leaving early enough to make the convention. I will be there ridding down with a couple of crazy cookie furs.

If you want to buy me dinner, I won't say no. But I won't pay for your meal. I'll pay my bill tho if you aren't buying.

Smoke:
I don't smoke. So, don't ask me if I want a cig. I've got bad lungs as is from secondhand smoke growing up/ my father was a chain smoker. I don't smoke or do drugs. ( Maybe Do green or 420 if you ask me and if it's legal but otherwise. No I don't smoke)

Hugs:
If you ask and if I'm suiting. I will happily take hugs. I have a partial suit. Hugs are welcomed.

Talk:
Yeah, of course, I can make room for chit-chat if I'm not too busy.
In a suit, all you might hear is muffled silence talking is difficult. That and in suit, you might catch me barking or doing my random jibberious canine talk back but that's all you will get. If you understand dog talk when I'm not in human that's fine.

Do you want to pay me for a scribble? I rarely do freebies unless it's a trade or if I'm drunk enough.

Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Don't have to ask me twice. Feel free to sketch in my drawing pad. I don't mind sharing scribbles or if you'd want to teach me a trick or two.

We strongly encourage all of our followers to call and write your state senators in protest to the Lacey Act amendments on the America COMPLETES Act 2022, that just passed the House TODAY by a slim margin. The over 600 proposed amendments will effectively ban ALL interstate movement (not just sales) and ANY importation of any nonnative wildlife that is not on the Lacey Act’s proposed “whitelist”.

This issue is not just about reptiles, or birds, or fish, or amphibians, or mammals - it is about ALL of them. If you own any animal other than a dog, cat, or traditional farm animal, your species could be treated as injurious. If you have an animal interest business, this will likely affect you.

USARK has a summary of the changes included in the Act, and has written a very professional script for calls & emails that you can copy and modify as you see fit. PLEASE contact your senators about this ASAP!

This year a lot of the taxidermy gift giving group is a little delayed and everyone is okay with that as normally the event starts October-November and into December.
There is still time to get in if you would like to. It's a fun little group and sending a gift back is not required we understand the holidays can be hard on many.
