As a real quick rundown, several Payment Processors (Visa, Mastercard, [possibly]Paypal) have pressured online services (Steam, Itch.Io) to remove NSFW content from their stores.

Payment processors had previously already pulled from supporting NSFW Japanese content online as well. (Pixiv and their stores, for example.)

It's not a far reach to assume things are going to get worse for NSFW spaces.

Well, that's not entirely inaccurate. At no point since joining this site have I felt this low and I have never spoken publicly about my mental state, like this. Me being down is nothing to do with FA or the internet, though. It's a RL thing I will not go into. Still, this is where I am now.

Speaking of when I joined FA, it was Dec 15th, 2005, so this is a 'fun' moment to notice that it's been basically exactly 17 years since then.

Anyway, my point in making this journal is basically asking for a little mood booster / pick-me-up.

But, as the title of the journal implies, I am hoping to be told of positive or 'good' things that I have somehow done or contributed to the community, via my presence or my work or the art I have commissioned and posted or anything else - rather than just 'I hope you feel better' or "you're a cool snake" or whatever.

Right now it's almost 7am in my time zone, and I'm up early on Tuesday October 18th, 2022.

Back THEN, I was up super late, at around 4am, on the 'night' of Monday, October 17th, 2016.. which was truly the early early morning of Tuesday, October 18th.

I didn't plan it this way, but I just released another story, on this same night. It even fell on the same days of the week! O:

So I'm writing again, after a bit of a drought since finishing my last book.

But, as I look to the future, and plan projects (or pick up old ones again), I wanted to ask my audience - those of you who actually look at journals, anyway:

Since I released 'BLFC Room Party' at the end of January 2022, is it too soon to make another story-for-sale?

Something inside me says I should aim for only one of those per year. But who knows, maybe every six months would be nice? You tell me.

Meanwhile, I want to say, I am planning on making plenty of free stories.

In general, I think shorter things I make will always be free, and longer ones will be for sale.

But, I have also been considering trying to make smaller things for sale. My two books are both over 100k words, and that's a bit of a daunting number of words to read. They were originally priced at 6 and 5 dollars, but maybe people would like smaller things that are 1 or 2 dollars to buy.

[Maybe at that small amount, they won't seem worth it? Then again, look at apps and digital song purchases, that's the whole idea, there! Everything's a dollar! Everyone can spare a dollar, for something they want. >___>]

I am currently in the middle of making a short story that will accompany some new art I've purchased, and that will all be posted together, here on FA. But I already know I want to do a sequel, basically. And that sequel would be bigger and smuttier, more involved.

And I have had many thoughts about going back to various sexy shorts that are already here on FA and adding smutty sequels onto them. But I also imagine I'd be selling the sequels.

My question here is: Is selling sequels to free items somehow rude? I mean, should all my for-sale work be self-contained and not interlink with freely available tales? I have this image of people getting mad that I 'took a free thing and made more, but held it hostage' - but maybe that's silly.

But, isn't this always how it goes? When a game sequel comes out, the first one in the series is given away for free, or DEEPLY discounted? On the Amazon kindle store, every erotica series has a free or super cheap first chapter, then the rest are all 4 or 5 bucks for each segment.

Patreon / SubscribeStar & KoFi / Shinies:

I have always maintained the notion that I do not put out enough work for a subscription-style support system like these sites, where it all comes down to monthly structures.

That said, I recognize that the point of those sites is not really meant to be the rewards or the early access or whatever - the true purpose of Patreon or SubStar is to allow people to support their favourite creators, regardless of what they're making, or how long it takes them. Right?

Still, I never made a Patreon for myself because I thought 'if anyone wants to support me, they will send a Ko-Fi' - my KoFi URL is on the top of my FA profile page, and it's on every single one of my posts, at the bottom of the description box, because it's in my standard footer text.

But I have only ever received perhaps 7 of those.

So on that note, should I turn on the FA Shinies system?

All in all, I think the answer to all of that is 'you might as well make them / use them, because even if you only get 3 bucks once or twice, then that's better than the NO bucks you were getting before.'

Once more, another year has passed me by.

I find it difficult to encapsulate the entire annum succinctly, save for stating how putrid a picture current events have created.

At the very least, this is the year where I began writing again more consistently [starting in August 2021]. But we'll see how long that lasts, I suppose.

I have a cadre of close companions that I care for, and who care for me, in turn. This mitigates a modicum of malevolence.

It's just.. so much detail, so many well-designed anthros from so many interesting species, all in the name of simply having fun, being with friends, and dancing. It speaks of community and camaraderie, and I love it to bits.

Would you be interested if:

-- If I released a story with all kinds of lovely / hot TF material in it

-- But one of the main characters was a shapeshifter that just happened to spend all his time in a non-anthro, quadrupedal equine form? [He begins the story as bipedal anthro before 'relaxing' into the four-legged form] It's also established he was born as an anthro before learning to shift.

I know there are people who don't care for non-anthro characters, and perhaps the inclusion of one would be an automatic pass for them.

I also know there'll be people who don't care what the characters are, as long as it's well written / as long as it has the kinks they like.

So I'm really asking to people who would be on the fence about this, if the TF material and knowing the character is a shifter with the mind of an anthro, would over-rule any eversion one might have to reading a story about a "'feral'" character in a sexual situation. (They wouldn't be feral, but sometimes people read 'non-anthro' as if it automatically means 'feral')

And really, 'feral' should denote a character without human-level intelligence. Meanwhile, 'non-anthro' means someone intelligent who happens to not be in a humanoid form.

Amethystine could choose to be fully serpentine sometimes, in the course of some TF shenanigans, for example. I bet people wouldn't mind that, especially since people who watch me know that Ame is a naga, since they've seen him that way for years.

It's my birthday!

Last year, for a few reasons, most of the celebrating was done in February, and then the pandemic stuff/lockdown things all happened in March.. and now here we are again in March, and it feels like a million years since I had an actual proper birthday.

On this day, 56 years ago, the Ames Sond series of films began!

With the release of Dr. Ssssnow on October 5th, 1962, the long-lived and illustrious career of the serpentine spy known as '00S' began.

At the time, the film-makers didn't even realize that they were releasing it on such a perfect day: North American fans have coined this '00S day' because they write the date as 10/05, which can be viewed as 1005, which contains the digits '005', themselves appearing similar to '00S'.
