saw the jungle book today with pidge! it was really good! i enjoyed it a lot, the animation was top notch and the story was more like the actual books but with a good amount of references to the animated film as well. Scarlet Jo made an awesome Kaa. hhhhhh

i'm currently juggling a lot of plates; getting college stuff lined up to go back to campus in the fall, tax and inheritance stuff; for whatever stupid reason this week was super hard for me? like there was no real reason why i should feel bad, a ton of stuff was going according to plan even. like, i'm gonna get sweet financial aid considering i'm an orphan with very low taxable income, right? hahah hah hah ah aa

found it! it's a russian adaptation of the books, and actually follows mowgli as he's growing up and stuff and it's awesome. the version i saw was with some different sound mixing and dubbed in english. this version is with subtitles. worth a watch for sure!

i totally forgot it was actually easter!! see, pidge and i are waiting for her sister to come home and visit to do any easter festivities so we're just having a lazy sunday. cause my family's jewish on my dad's side, christian on my mum's, i celebrated both rounds of holidays. the only real easter tradition that's unique to my household is watching Ben Hur on easter sunday.

technician couldn't make it out, called the house to say so. he's got a backlog of work, so he's gonna drop off the new modem on Monday. i told him i could hook it up myself because well, it's not hard. he seemed grateful.

check-up with my doctor tomorrow! just to talk about how i'm doing on my new meds, and how i'm getting along with the ambien (answer: VERY well). i know my doc was reluctant to give me the scrip in the first place, so i'm going to talk with her about a long-term sleep aid, or what over the counter meletonin supplement she'd suggest.
i've also picked up some other uncommon side effects of the SSRI's, so i'm gonna ask her about those too.

a question to my watchers: do any of you guys take part in the Deviantart ARPG DracoStryx? i figured it'd be good practice for my thesis, plus i love a lot of the art that the community makes.
i'm looking to get my hands on a sand or soil Harpia geno, gender/day cycle/inbred doesn't really matter to me. preferably with a couple of genes so i can have fun with the design: one or more of crescent, frosted, flecks, pangare, mostly. i know it's a lot to ask, but if any of you guys could help me out, or point me in the right direction, that'd be sweet.

i'm not very well known on DA, so no one knows my work well enough or is willing to sell a geno for art, and i can't buy a slot with no stryx to breed. i guess i didn't know how exclusive this group would be to get into when i jumped in!

back in my sophomore year, i had to take a class in Character Acting for Animation, which was in part learning how to use your whole body in acting motions, how to get in character to record the best reference footage you could; and part character creation and writing strategies. the first assignment was to fill out this detailed questionnaire to create a well-rounded character portrait. the professor and i ended up not getting along, but there was no way he couldn't give me an A on this particular assignment and most of the in-class exercises, as i used an OC i'd written for about a year for these tests and i put in a lot of research to make him sympathetic, intriguing, and interesting. despite not getting along with the guy, i found these questions very helpful. i've since added to the questions with a few of my own, and some others that i liked from other memes, which will ask many challenging questions about your OC's past, future, description, and philosophy as well as your own inspiration for them.
