Posted 16 years agoSo my Microsoft Partner Windows 7 32-bit Install CD turned up yesterday, and I decided to visit a friend while the install process chugged interminably (I'm led to believe an upgrade can take as long as 20 hours on a very full system). I was also a bit worried because it hadn't come with any licence keys, so I was anxious that my computer might be stranded until they arrived. I came back at about 6 o'clock this morning to find that not only had the install cycle finished, but no licence key was necessary and - you may want to sit down for this, folks - everything worked first time.
I was in shock.
Everything's streamlined. It works so much more smoothly than Vista. I dislike the removal of the quick-launch but I'm sure there's a way around that somehow. Everything is neater and I haven't had a single UAC pop-up. Everything is ticking over just like it should. All this on the first go.
