The RONSO International site is currently down on the Waargh.org server till further notice.

So I recently moved over to a new internet provider. Everything works fine, but for some reason all the thumbnails and images on FA wont load. No matter the browser or device; they all fail to load. However they work fine when I use my mobile device's internet. So I have to assume moving to the new ISP is causing the issue.
Any ideas as to a fix or work around?

I've been meaning to give the site a complete overhaul, however due to real life commitments and numerous false starts - I have instead ended up doing some maintenance on the current one.

These include:
-Site was completely re-loaded onto the server and old unlinked or irrelevant files were deleted
-Removal of the splash screen and instead straight to the Homepage from the URL
-CSS clean-up on pages
-Border removal from pages for a cleaner look
-Reworked Links, Profile and Ronso Rage pages
-Introduction of header images for each gallery
-Various other background tweaks
-Gallery cleanup of certain pieces to keep up the standard of the site

I will continue to make some more minor adjustment into the new month. I aim to give the thumbnail layout a reworking; any suggestions would be appreciated. Im hoping by instead of giving the site a complete overhaul that I can rather focus on just adding new material.
With the release of XIV: Shadowbringers and the introduction of the Hrothgar race; I will be adding a respective page in due time.

As some of you have already heard; the latest expansion FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers has introduced the Hrothgar race. A male only lionine race that are essentially based on the Ronso race from Final Fantasy X.

Im honestly surprised how somewhat generic they look compared to the Ronso's set blue fur and horn design. That being said the Hrothgar is never "explicitly" stated to be based on the Ronso, but it's so obvious that it cant be dismissed.

How do you guys feel about the introduction of the Hrothgar race? As more people are jumping on the fanart bandwagon after the announcement; I'll no doubt be adding them to my site in due time.

A lot has been happening in South Africa over the past couple of months and I sort of felt like I needed to put things down here in relation to the Ronso site and other aspects concerning the furry community.

South Africa has recently been declared as Junk Status or sub-investment class. Meaning foreign investors would have to pull out investing the country to meet the contractual agreements not to invest in any sub-investments. This follows after our President fired our renowned financial minister almost 2 years after he fired the previous one and got flack for trying to appoint a no name backbencher. This is all part of a major corruption scandal where our President essentially sold the country to a wealthy Indian family and is trying to ransack the treasury.

Long story short; our country's economy is fucked. As such we expect higher taxes, more VAT and generally the cost of living just going up. Throw in the currency exchange versus the dollar; I dont think it would be viable for me to take out regular commission for the RONSO site as much as I would like. You all may have noticed the lack of exclusives from last year till now and it mostly comes down that. Despite a donation page to help out with exclusives; the site has only gotten enough for one commission the past 4 years or so. Regardless it brings me back to something I said earlier; it was not financially responsible for me to spend money like that to commission art of a videogame character I did not necessarily care for. In all honesty I would rather use my money to commission something for myself or as a gift to somebody.

That being said - I still plan to update the site on regular intervals and maybe commission a piece here or there.

Back to the subject of my home country. South Africa is going through a very hard time. Our President seems to do whatever he wants to enrich himself and his cronies, white/black relations are terrible and the general prospect just seems hopeless. Many people ask me 'Why dont you move?"

Well that something I've been battling for ages. You see despite the country going to shit; Im still reasonably well off all things considered. I have a stable job, my own place, my own car, family, etc. Moving abroad is such a major shift change and I'll ultimately have to begin from scratch again with zero support. In this stage of my life; Im just not sure if I want that.

Moreover if I was going to move I would prefer to move to the US if I was being honest. Solely to be close to somebody special and the largest concentration of my overseas friends. We all know how wonderful immigrating to the US is, so you may understand my feelings regarding that. I have no real desire to move anywhere else save Canada and even then that would be so that I could be close to the US.

With the economy going however I may soon be out of a job and would have no choice but to look at other prospects. There's a lot of questions on my mind on what should I do. Do I continue as is and enjoy what I have? Cut my losses and make a break for it before its too late?
I suppose making plans just in case things goes to shit would be in order, but this also enters another issue - family in particular.

They have certain expectations of me. You see Im somewhat of an inheritor of a family business and they expect me to get involved some day. To be honest I want nothing to do with it. I have no interest in that line of work and was one of the reasons why I left my hometown and struck out on my own. Secondly my folks are now in that age bracket where anything that could go wrong will and I dont like the idea of me being halfway across the world should something happen. Also I have found that despite how much they or others say: "Follow your dreams" or "Do what makes you happen"... As soon as you do they suddenly tell you to slow the fuck down. It just adds to the conundrum of what to do.

Somebody dear to me always says "If not you, who? If not now, when?" I know the answer to the first question. The second one is up in the air.
The omitted question however is How?

Sorry for the delay in updates - the beginning of the year was extremely busy for me and I had trouble securing new material. I've noticed a slow decline in new FF material and it does makes me wonder if I need to start to include other more human like races. However I do feel like that may dilute the experience of a furry/beast race site such as RONSO International. Will have to wait and see.

2016

I realize the general consensus that 2016 was a terrible year, but for me it was a somewhat confusing if not anti-climatic year. The reason why I say that is because by all accounts it should have been an amazing year. I traveled to the United States to see somebody very important to me, there were major releases in movies, books, games, etc that I were looking forward to and just a relatively good year at work. I guess the reason being is that the majority of all the good things that happened were only temporary escapes from daily life. I cant complain with the expectation of the daily grind, but I acknowledge that things were lacking in a lot of aspects. Also the past year was spent sitting and waiting for my trip to the US. Now my trip to the US to visit somebody I care deeply about was amazing and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. However the problem was that it was essentially the only thing in the year that I was really looking forward to. After it was over - there was an overall sense of "Now what?"

2017

Going into the new year I have a generally mixed set of ideas of what I can do to improve my daily life and other aspects. Essentially I will be casting a wide net and see how much of it catches on. To be a bit more brave and be more open. To sate my wanderlust Im thinking of taking more local trips instead of waiting for years just for one international trip. That being said I will be budgeting another trip to the US in 2018, but make it less of a endgame scenario.
I also have to look at long term goals. Do I want to stay with my current job? Finally get involved with the family business? Move to the US?
I kinda have to start finding answers to those questions before it becomes too late for me to do anything about it.

RONSO International Site

Going forward with the site; Im thinking of sticking to the current plan of doing the usual monthly updates with occasional exclusives. Reason being mostly because my interests are going elsewhere, our currency is still bombing and artists are generally getting more expensive too. Personally I would rather now spend the money to commission art of my or of a friend's character than to spend the money on a random FF monster that I have no personal connection to. That being said I still have a ton of ideas for exclusive artwork that I wont be able to get out of my head until it's on paper.

Following the down time I have made a couple of decisions; in particular to put exclusives on hold indefinitely until the financial crisis in my country has settled. Regular updates will still continue however.

The Good

Things didnt look so good late last year when the site's host, Furnation went down indefinitely. Going into this year I was frantically looking at my options and how to go forward. Fortunately the kind folks at Waargh.org offered RONSO International a respite during this time and I have setup a Mirror Site on there for everyone to view.

I need to point out that this is not what one would consider the Live Version. It will be a mirror site of the live version which will update as the live one does. More on that below.
Since it's a mirror site; some things may not work like they are supposed to, so please do let me know if you find any broken links, etc.

The Bad

As you may suspect there wont be an update anytime soon. Two reasons for it being so; first I'am working under the good faith and word of other parties regarding the original site's revival. As such I cant make any promises, nor do I want to get anybody's hopes up; including mine. Updates are currently in a stalemate until what I have decided would be FEB.

Secondly, and this is a real kicker, I have decided to drop Exclusives.
At least for now anyway; with the economy in my country is at crisis levels - it has become financially irresponsible for me to spend around R1000 a month on artwork. Our president decided to commit financial genocide late last year causing our currency to sink from R14/$1 to R16/$1. Since RONSO International is not a paysite and I shell out for everything from my pocket; its just no longer feasible to keep at it. Especially as my other expenses have now also increased.

The Ugly Truth

The main reason for cutting the exclusives is because I'am planning a much needed trip to the US this year. It's practically the only thing I have been looking forward to the past 2 years. Now with the economy as bad; I will have to be extra shrewd about where my money goes.

That being said; its not all bad. Our economy might suddenly get better in the coming months, I may have enough to have the occasional exclusive, but more importantly UPDATES will still happen going forward into FEB.

I thank you all for your support and I ask for your patience a bit more.

As of today, 10 December 2015 - our host FurNation.com has closed down. As such this means that RONSO International has closed down as well. You can read up on their decision to close down on their page: http://www.furnation.com/

That being said RONSO International is not dead; just down indefinitely. Until an opportunity arises expect further content updates via the RONSO International Tumblr page. I will continue to post on there and even post older material for the time being.

It's really unfortunate to see FurNation go after so many years supporting the site, but like I mentioned before it hasn't been the first time that they went down and it will not spell the end for my Ronso endeavors.

EDIT: I don't run Furnation. The admin called SYSTEM does and he wrote the memo on the Furnation page.

Well as most of you should be aware of it's the end of November and there hasn't been an update nor any new artwork.

My hopes that FurNation would be back online by now was quickly diminished when their third "it will be up this weekend" turned into a week long silence and then they posted another update on their homepage: http://furnation.com/

Prospects aren't looking good; however this isn't the first time that Furnation has gone down in the 10 years I ran the RONSO site. As before I have no choice but to hope for the best and just ride it out.
I have been looking at hosting solutions, but the protocol regarding gay adult material of copyrighted furry characters is bit of a gauntlet and have yet to find a viable option.

Im thinking of ending the year with one more exclusive to be posted on the RONSO International tumblr page and then take a break from this until Furnation is up again.
