Retiring AnkuTen as a fursuit (NOT THE CHARACTER)
Posted 8 years agoIt is what the title entails. I am officially retiring AnkuTen as a fursuit. It disheartens me to let him go as a fursuit, but I definitely had a good run while it lasted.
I'm pretty sure most of you are wondering the reason behind this choice. It has come a big realization that I no longer feel connected to him as a character that I did before. If anything, he was the anguish, the sorrow and pain that I have brought with me as I grow older and continue to develop in the fandom. He was, in a way a physical manifestation of my grief and sadness, and tries to be happy by being around friends but also has gone through a lot of hardships and anxieties that has held him back from being truly happy. As cute as a character he can be in drawings, that is far from the truth from what he truly holds internally. He was the dark angel in my mind that has tried to save my from my own internal struggles. He is also the comfort whenever I have gone through some dark times. That is the true nature of AnkuTen. He was never happy to begin with.
When I have came up with Hiro, I didn't think twice that he would come out the way he did. But every time I do look at him, I see hope, a changed person, someone that won't let anything bring him down. Someone who's always happy and always willing to help out a friend with their internal struggles. His full name is Hiro Yasuragi, the last name being a Japanese adjective that means "Peace (of mind), tranquility and serenity. That's exactly how I want Hiro to be in front of everyone he meets.
But this doesn't mean that I'm not giving up AnkuTen. He is the one side I do not wish to impose on others. Even as much as I don't want to, the personality of AnkuTen still can come out when my inner demons like to play with me, but as Hiro he shows the better and lighter side of me. I believe both play an important role in my life. AnkuTen being the darker, realistic side as for Hiro being more hopeful and uplifting. I do not want to be reminded again of all of the personal struggles I have gone through as AnkuTen and start anew and reborn as Hiro.
I've always wanted to act a little more bouncy and silly while performing as Hiro when I eventually gather the funds for a fursuit, which in a related update I actually am getting a fursuit head for him! I will eventually make a FA separately for Hiro as this account will officially be a secondary fursona as I am claiming Hiro to be my new main fursona! I honestly needed a fresh new face for me to run around as and I'm hoping that those that are still with me will realize who I am under the suit when I do go to future cons as Hiro! I just want to say thank you to those that have been on my side since the day we have met online and at cons! It is a bittersweet goodbye for AnkuTen and he will no longer be showing face at conventions. I hope you all will enjoy my new main, Hiro!

Trying to come back! GIANT UPDATE! [To Those Who It Concern]

I know it's been a long time since I have been on here, but I am trying to make the transition into coming back to this website! I don't know who still follows or still sees the stuff I post on my other social media outlets but I'm organizing all of the websites and places I have! I know I haven't done as much convention reports or rants as of late as well. I have been busy focusing on myself and getting my life together, and I think at this point in time I'm starting to stabilize and actually seeing my true potential! I was such a mess in the past year and the previous years. I apologize if I haven't been talking to anyone recently or trying to catch up with all of you. It's about time that I get back to the basics and also keep attention to those that are around me while at the same time tending to people who I never thought are still fans and are wondering what's going on with me! This long break really helped me a lot and I hope all of you understand my very long hiatus from FA. I have my reasons.
One of the reasons is because of that recent outbreak of security that happened during BLFC a few years ago (2015 I think), and I eventually had enough because of people not doing their jobs or having enough people that are dedicated enough or have the knowledge to handle a server that FA is on. I didn't want any part of FA because of so much drama and arguments that occur here that I randomly see tweets about it as well.
Second reason was my motivation was seriously lacking and I would be too lazy to fix anything or update any of my profiles. To add on, I was not enthusiastic or passionate about going to school after being stuck for 5-6 years feeling like I'm not accomplishing anything, and that hurts my self-esteem very badly. Even with the amount of encouragement from friends, it wasn't enough. I was seriously in a river of tears because I was done with life. I didn't want to pursue in a higher education anymore, didn't want to work, didn't want to move on in life. I struck a huge mental and emotional breakdown that I honestly felt like I didn't want to be here anymore. I'm not sure if I'm diagnosed with depression but from reflecting back at the things that I have done so far and how I reacted, it seems more than likely that I may have depression. I will soon later get myself tested whether or not if I have depression or not.
To lighten the mood, I saw the counselor after being suspended from the campus for one semester because of my poor performance. I promised them after a change of degree that this degree will be the one I will pursue. I had talked to a buddy of mine for advice, did research for myself in what my strengths were finding out that my social aspect is somehow my greatest skill. I also found jobs or degrees that focuses on the strengths that I had. I now am currently going to college for a degree in Human Services or a social worker. It still surprises me how many people don't know about this job. To sum up what a social worker is, they essentially help people with social problems that they are dealing with whether if it's drug abuse, family violence, domestic violence, homelessness, jobless, parenting, elderly, people with special disabilities, etc. I can see myself fit in this degree very well since there are some experiences that I have dealt with that when I hear other people going through it, I have a sense of empathy and sympathy. I also want to help those that have dealt with the same problems that I have and help people cope through certain challenges in their life. I also try to have a basic understanding on how people are and not try to fight with them. Understanding someone is the key to being closer and also helping out a person. I have been working on this degree since Spring 2016 and I'm nearing my completion for my Associates degree, and I have been happy with my progress and growth so far. The classes also helped me unlock my potential and understanding what kind of person I am and taking the time to slow down to process things and have a better understanding of my situation. I am honestly thankful that these classes have brought me back up again and I'm taking it step by step into making myself a better person.
I'd also like to thank all of you for reading this journal after such a long hiatus. I'm also coming back to help administer the Hawaii Fur group now that I have more time on my hands or try to squeeze administering the group between work, school and internship. I also am gonna have a big fursuit picture dump soon so watch out for that. I still have Anku 3.0 that's made by Mischief Makers, and I'm considering upgrading him again since I had him for over three years now! I also have a second character, Hiro Corgi! I have start to feel more of a connection to Hiro now than AnkuTen. My personality with Anku is dormant somewhere, but part of him is still with me and to me I believe Anku was the lonely, independent wolf that had to fend off the world on his own. Hiro is probably the reincarnation of Anku and supposed to be the more happy, care-free and understanding part of me. Not only that, but everyone LOVES his design and I'm pretty proud of how he came out too! I'm currently getting a fursuit head made by him but I won't reveal who just yet.

Going On Hiatus...
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone. If you haven't seen on my Facebook or Twitter the other day, I am going on a hiatus from the fandom. There was just too many things that was making me upset, but there was also things that I felt like I had to improve as a person before I come back to the fandom. I was going to come up with something to celebrate my milestone of 600 subscribers on my YouTube channel, 600 watches here on FA, and also 900 followers on my Twitter. I'm happy that I got at those milestones, but it's also sad that I need to leave the fandom for a while so I can get my life straight and get ahead in life. I'm happy to make some memories with you guys through the few years I have known you guys. I will be back after I have improved and have become a better person, and also have a degree. It's going to be hard not being able to be around the fandom a lot, but I will miss all of you dearly. I will still think of you guys. See you all soon.

Kawaii Fursuit Eyes: Update!

I'm still taking requests from either here or on Twitter, or wherever you give me a picture! Week 3 fursuit eyes requests are finished and I'm working on this week's right now when I have free time before my classes start or when I don't have school and I have work later on to go to. Those are the only times that I'm free to do them. It makes me happy that I get to do these for you guys, and your responses make me smile every time!
Week 5 is actually filling up quickly as well, as I've been getting a bunch of responses on Twitter. 7/10 slots are already taken because of that. Hey guys! So, I got to thank everyone for requesting me on Twitter for the kawaii fursuit eyes. It's always a pleasure seeing everyone enjoying these so much! Also, as of yesterday, I completed over 100 requests! And with those 100 requests, 130 fursuiters have kawaii eyes! That's SO much that I completed in over 5 days! Man, I need some water. *whew*
Anyways, I have a big announcement to make!
Due to the mass popularity and requests have been flowing in like mad crazy, I decided to make an organized work load for these requests. So, I will still take requests! But I'm limiting it to 10 slots. I will do 10 slots each week so that the work is spread out. Also, because of 100 requests already have been fulfilled, I'm going to start a TIP JAR! I mean, I do LOVE doing these for free, but I'd like to be compensated or have a bit of a tip for doing these. I'll be checking both Twitter and FA for these requests, and I'll tell you which week of the month I'll be working on your request. Sounds fair? Okay!

Also Happy New Year everyone! Need to have more suiting, more furry events here in Hawaii, and most importantly, improve on some things about myself! Like maybe actually do some body building or getting some muscle, improve my skin because I've had psoriasis on my body for a long time and I want to clear it up, and also have to look for healthcare and dental care because after my 23rd birthday this May, I lose my military privilege for medical and dental. Oh the struggles of being an adult, but still having a young mind.
I'd like to personally thank a whole lot of you for being friends with me through good and bad times, and I want to create memories with everyone that I know. The hardest part is the struggle of finishing college and actually make a living somewhere else. I'm glad for all of the support that you guys give me, and I want to give back as a say of thanks. I want to pursue in a career that I know that I can be passionate about, and I am a person that is in dire need of mutual and emotional support.
Anyways, I thank everyone here that are here, and I give out my love and support in whatever you guys do. Always keep a positive attitude!

I'm thankful for being in this fandom because it makes me feel like I have a sense of belonging, everyone has so much talent and kindness, it's sickening. But I wouldn't mind getting sick from all of this awesomeness. Have fun and don't get any tummy aches from so much good food!
