Considering how long the old journal was up, no, I did not die of flu...thankfully!!! It did hold onto me for a very long time though, more than 3 weeks.

I have been pretty silent overall because in beginning of year I went through endometriosis excision surgery(+a few extras but don't wanna bloat this journal), which... was supposed to help?, but I still deal with side-effects which often make me feel worse than before the operation.

Before OP doctors would claim I will recover in 2 weeks. I did expect I might need longer so I reserved myself a month off. Three days after operations first side-effects popped up - constant bleeding, debilliating pain that OTC meds didn't work on, bloating, gut problems, bladder problems.... I contact my gyn, I contact the hospital - suddenly I hear from all of them: "it's normal! should pass in 3-6 months, clog your teeth!"

I've been dealing with doctors hiding information, dodging answers, dismissing me and gaslightning me. I'm in chronic pain and constant inflammation, because of which I work 4x as much for half of result. I was so happy when I went to OP thinking I would finally get help for this curse and while I'm 4 months in, I'm still barely holding my head above the water.

Doctors seem not to care about me as a person - all they care about is that I keep my uterus "because you will definitely change your mind". You can be dying of pain, but they would rather make you suffer 24/7 than loose a glorified human incubator. The mysogyny and sexism in healthcare is real and gynecologists are officially higher on my hate-list than HR job recruiters. Being a foreigner is a cherry on top. I've never felt so humilliated in my entire life.

My mood has rock bottom because of all of this, i'm doing my best not to let the dark thoughts win, but... yeah. It's hard, and making art is slow.

If you live in Germany and have/had to deal with endometriosis and/or adenomyosis treatment, feel free to reach out.

I really wish I could just sit and draw and not have to deal with this.

Like most I got infected with some kind of flu (mmmm crunchy concrud), thankfully it's mostly tiredness, soreness and a bit of cough on my side. Convention season for 2024 has ended from me with MEX Berlin. What a ....weird con it was. But a good experience nonetheless! And i could meet with some berliner friends too
After the convention I used opportunity that I'm close to the border and visited my family in Poland. Sadly I also happened to visit my friends funeral. Still shocked by his passing :(

Thankfully I'm finally home and not going anywhere much until end of the year, so I can finally focus on finishing owed artwork! New art soon tm!

Whole event is a coronation to the hard work each year and meeting all of you really empowers me. I was always shy to take pictures with random fursuiters, but this time I actually approached a few and ahhh!!! I even bided on a thing in Art show and got a new crocheted bby :D

All my art show pieces have went to their new owners, as well as the blankets donated to charity auction. Can you imagine people bidded around 350 eur on each? All money from those went to a wildlife charity

Back to work on comms

DD went great aswell and thanks to all support I was able to pay all my dues. Now only debts I have is the "art debt" in form of my backlog, which I couldn't proceed on because of whole mess with operation. Thankfully I'm on my feet and can go back to work! I will be tackling the queue one by one.
If I can catch up enough I will open for some special traditional art commissions in November/December. Keep fingers crossed and eyes open!

HI GUYS LONG TIME NO READ

A lot has happened in my life this past 1,5 months. In short - beginning of August I had another covid. Massive coughing and overall inflammation caused a spine L5/S1 prolapse I had to grow so much, it completely sqeezed my S1 nerve, cutting out feeling in my left leg from top to bottom and causing me TREMENDOUS nerve pain. Doctors threw me around like a hot potato and after 3 weeks(!) of pain I finally met a doctor who realized I need an operation ASAP. They operated me the next day. The OP was successful and thank god whole thing was fresh enough that I could have least invasive surgery, but at the same time I walked around with it so long that one of my leg nerves got damaged....

I am right now 3 weeks after operation and first time back pain free since 6 YEARS. The only downside is still numb leg. Thankfully day by day it's coming back a bit, but I am still in recovering phase.

Doctors allowed me to go to EF!!!!!!!!
BUT
I am overall well but I can't walk or stand or sit too long (need to change positions often) and can't do any sort of physical exercise or lift too much for at least 3-4 more weeks.

Due to whole ordeal the commissions work was paused since beginning of August. I am happy to say I can finally sit in my PC chair and I will resume commmission work as soon as I'm back from EF.
The moment I could stand I worked hard to prepare my EF booth as good as I can. There is no sick-leave for freelancers, so any purchases at my booth at EF are a life saviour for my budget ;w;

If I were to make some fanart, what characters would you like the most to see in my style? 👀

My growth on social media has always been rather slow, especially on FA since I do mostly SFW art. Twitter was going a bit more rapid until ElonMelon came and made it one big mess. For months, if not years, my growth became stagnant and on Twitter I couldn't get over the 4000 follows, and on FA 3000. It was always a little under. I knew that it's probably not my fault that posts don't have as much reach, but it always gets under your skin a little. I tried not to think about it and just keep going, focusing on art itself and just trying to swim around all the new platforms, trends, etc. etc.

After multiple stagnant months it seems like I finally broke that "ceilling" and passed the 3K on FA and 4K on Twitter milestones, thank you so much everyone :D Sadly I'm still too backlogged to be able to make a free art raffle yet, but work has been going much more smooth lately so I'll make one as soon as I can. It will happen eventually, it's been so long since last one qq

As for other platforms, I do keep running a Mastodon and Bluesky accounts but I'm not as active there. I check them regularly and post new art and updates, but can't scroll so many social media, I got no brain capacity for that D: While Mastodon is pretty nifty, Bluesky? I have no idea how people grow there xD If 10 people see my post and share it, I'm lucky haha.

One platform that really grew recently is Cara app and while all the others I mentioned try to be a Twitter copy, this one is actually filling up the hole after Artstation. As most of you probably know (or not), Artstation was one of the first "traitors" to give away all of the gathered art to AI generator scrapers and for a very long time there was no safe space for the big industry artists to show their work to public. Now that Instagram and whole Meta wants to put us all into scrapper again people have made a big move to Cara and it makes me so happy. I hate Instagram with passion xD I set my home page on Cara to show me whole network new stuff, and I see both amazing super inspiring art from proffessionals, as well as smaller artists pretty pics. It makes me so happy Lots of great tools to set up a simple portfolio page, I do recommend!

I haven't been advertising it too much yet, but I will be in Artist Alley at Dokomi this year! Nabbed a small table together with  rudzik I will be there with the mousepads and improved neck pillows!
All neck pillows are fixed with my own two hands and none of them will break anymore when spreading their legs. I made sure the sewing is stretchy and rock solid xD I will be refilled on green and yellow dragons too, ofc if package comes to me in time. Also a few new playmat designs :>

I can't believe how fast time flies recently, phew!

April has been a bit hectic. Not only the rapid weather changes made me rather sicklish, but a bunch of chronic pains have really flared up, making it difficult to focus on anything, or even sit out whole day in my workplace chair. On a good note one of the doctors finally managed to push some connection strings and in 3rd week of May I got a date with a speciallist to hopefully get a diagnose. It's connected with my "female parts" and recently more often than not I wish I could just pluck out my uterus without consequences.

Art status

I finished the artwork for , and art for is almost done.
I am currently laying foundations for illustration for as well as speedpaints for , and .

I will be gone on a close friends wedding from 8th to 13th May. When i come back I have the doctor visits, hope they won't interefere too much with work tho.

By the end of May I want the speedpaints to be finished , and the illustration either finished or in final stage.

As for people who were scheduled for May and June, things will move by one month again. BUT! At the end of May I will look back on what stage everything and how my health stands, and then decide if queue goes as originally planned or if I will move around some projects. I will send respective emails and keep everyone updated!

Etsy shenanigans

As you probably noticed, I finally have finallized setting up my Etsy shop! (here a small reminder there is a -20% launch sale ending tommorrow)

Those more observant may have noticed that the shop account was established already....in 2022. Figuring out all the laws around selling (packaging waste tax my beloved) and finding time to actually set up the listings was a very very long adventure for me, and I'm really happy it reached the finish! Now I can slowly polish the whole thing, make more better photos and slowly start adding more products.

Considering I always fail to make my openings in the same time intervals, I would like to try a bit different approach than my peers and test a new way:

Introducing the waiting list

From now on any person whose project got accepted but did not fit into the “nearest future” queue will be put on the waiting list. The moment I’m done with the initial queue, the waiting list people will have priority.

- You don’t have to wait forever for my “opening window” - just shoot me an email if you are interested in the project and I will give you an initial quote and start estimate. You can join the waiting list anytime, and I’ll do my best to give you an estimate of the waiting time.
- Waiting list is basically queue that is not paid yet. You don’t have to pay anything to “reserve” a slot in the list. Once I’m getting close to finish current batch I will contact you and make interest check if you would still like the slot.

Embracing that I’m a slug

It’s not really a revelation, but more of loud thinking of sorts. Whenever I say I’m ready to take a new project on and don’t sprout a sketch in a week I get extremely anxious. And the anxiety makes me take even more time to draw something because I’m stressed xD I have realised, that I can’t always provide a sketch immediately because that’s just how my workflow goes. I usually make bigger artworks. Some pieces need a longer planning time (aka pondering the orb, how do I approach it? What assets should I use for the 3D sketch? etc.) And the more planning is made, the smoother process is later. Sometimes I’ll have an idea immediately, sometimes I need to go touch the grass to get inspiration/ problem-solve a certain piece. Thus for my own sanity I would like to state that even if I don’t sprout a rough thumbnail from my sleeve right after payment is done, I am indeed working on the piece. Sometimes I’m pondering the next project while rendering another one xD I’d say please give me around a month for the initial “sketching”.

My turnaround times usually span between 1-3 months, up to 5-6 months in most extreme cases (eg. going to a con and catching corona and being sick for 2 months in the meantime). I am slow but I’m working on it. I wish I could be quicker, but I can’t jump over my physical capabilities, especially with my ADHD like attention span. I also do not have any agents or anyone who can take over my job for me - and amount of work my partner can help me with is very limited. I do 90% of things alone. Talking, planning, printing, drawing, painting, management, posting on social media, PR, figuring out tax laws, planning conventions, preparing the shop, etc. etc. and I still need to have a life inbetween all this - take care of the house, pets, cook myself a meal.

So yeah, I work slowly but steadily. I’M SORRY I’M A SLUG <sub>(just needed to say it out loud >< )

And that is also why I’m introducing the waiting list. Sometimes the projects get prolonged not even because I take long time, but sometimes clients themselves reply only after 2 weeks and then my whole queue moves around and I need to add this to planning too. With every piece having different delivery time I need to juggle the projects and I feel like a waiting list will make things more easier for me, than the pompous “openings”. I will of course announce comms from time to time but that's it, you can just send me an email, seriously. Poke me anytime. I will announce an “opening” whenever my list gets thin.
