Photography Happens
Posted 9 years agoIt does! I just mostly post it to Flickr. I could maybe cross-post a few here.
The interested should check out my flickr page. It has wolves.

Really ought to update
Posted 16 years agoAt the very least, I have some more gun photos (what with buying a couple since I last posted anything), and maybe something of the mad scientist setup I had at the lab at work for a few days.
Pak-Pak-Pak
Posted 18 years agoMm, played about 5 hours of paintball today. Had a bloody blast. Fun, feel great, huzzah. Felt like I need to push that TANJ bitchiness off the front page.
TANJ
Posted 18 years agoThere Ain' No Justice. From Larry Niven's Ringworld.
Still alive.
Posted 18 years agoJust sayin'. Bein' at VT and all. Should post some more Italy pics here soon.
This is pretty much how I feel about the issue...
Posted 19 years agoWell, that issue, and violent video games, movies, etc: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/52338/
Drawn/rendered art is quite different from photography in that the 'art' does not mean the event actually occurred, whereas a photograph is a representation of photons reflected from an actual event. Of course, it blurs a bit when Photoshop gets into the scene, but that's...well, I guess it's not really more complicated, just more difficult to determine the reality of the situation.
Have to admit, though, the angst this all has caused is...rather humorous. Stupid, yes, but humorous.

Rifling
Posted 19 years agoDecided to finally clean my rifle (Charter Arm AR-7 Explorer) yesterday... Gods, it was filthy. Anyrate, I got partway into it and decided I'd see how bad it would be to strip down and clean the receiver in-detail... It's not complicated, but it was filthy. The bolt was...frightening. It all works much better now.
I'll have to try and snap a shot down the barrel, it's really need to see the rifling.... Not sure if I'll be able to get it to focus right, though. Little enough control over the camera.
I'll have to take it shooting soon. The small crack in the stock isn't really an issue, and if I just put in a little morning time, it won't take too long, nor take too long to clean, afterwards, since I won't be cleaning several uses and a couple years' sitting out of it. In fact, I can pull it out and clean chamber, bolt, and barrel quite easily, without ever removing the plate over the inner workings of the trigger assembly.
Might get a new one at some point, though, given that it's $30-$50 to replace the stock, and a new one, of better construction (Charter Arms is renowned for producing the shittiest AR-7s, apparently) for only $120. Dunno.

Rambling Update
Posted 19 years agoHmmm, I've been quiet of late. Not much to say, been busy keeping up with schoolwork and Technicon (http://www.technicon.org) work. More TCon work coming soon. Schoolwork is unending. Should practice my pennywhistle some more, though, the Irish Music Weeked (http://www.irishmusicwknd.info) is coming up soon, and I want to be on-the-ball for that. Started running again. Not sure what I'll do about lifting, since I don't particularly like the idea of using the weight room at War Memorial, seeing as it was packed today, and it looks like it's always packed, judging by the usage stats. Alas.
Kilt
Posted 19 years agoJust sitting here in my kilt, it's been the legging of choice for the last few days. Very convenenient, feels nice, looks decent (black Utilikilt original, w/ neotraditional front).
Just saying.
Just saying.
No Subject
Posted 19 years agoPhotos! I'll be uploading my photos from my January 2005 trip to Italy as I work through them and see what I like. Will also post other photos, as I get around to them, but the Italy photos will be the majority of it, for now. At least I can feel I'm contributing to the body of art, now, at least to a degree.
Hmmm...
Posted 19 years agoGuess I should actually poke FA more than once every couple of weeks. 32 messages when I logged in.
Might as well upload the new av I stitched together today. Will have to upload some of my favorite pics I've taken at some point, too.
