I'm back to work after the break to help family. Wips are going out steadily and I'm making good progress on art again! Exciting! :D
Unfortunately during my break I was unexpectedly put on a new medication that my insurance absolutely won't cover. I've eaten through my small savings while away and need to get this covered ASAP so I'm opening for colored sketch commissions to be worked on between my larger projects over the coming weeks.
My colored sketch commissions start at $90 per character for sfw prompts but I'm open to NSFW prompts for an additional fee. :3 I'm hoping to take on four spots to cover the meds so I can get started on them soon. Please note me if you'd like to claim a spot! Any help is appreciated. 💙

I wanted to make a quick journal since ill be away until the 22nd. Commission work is mostly paused while i tend to a family emergency out of state. I'll have my iPad with me to try and sketch work out if time allows but finished work and replies will resume as soon as I'm back! Quick update post surgery! Some medical talk ahead, if that makes you uncomfy feel free to skip!
So I had my big surgery on the 2nd! Going in was nerve wrecking but everyone was incredibly kind and patient. The main surgery went well, my surgeon was kind enough to take some pics of the removed organs and tissue so I can finally see what was causing so many issues for so long. I'm excited to see those next month when I see him again! Pathology already got back with the reports and the adeno was really bad, there were cysts in places they shouldn't be, and my reproductive organs were twice the size the should have been. Oof. Given all that there weren't any complications with the actual surgery itself thankfully!
Afterwards I unfortunately caught norovirus less than 24 hours post surgery and the vomiting caused some internal tearing that I was in the hospital overnight for. Ouch. Once that passed I had the unfortunate complication of being allergic to the suture glue on my skin, that was making the incisions reopen as my body reacted to the glue. Thats being treated with a lot of allergy medicine and ointments (finally feeling worlds better from that now!) Things are finally looking great! My scars are gonna be pretty prominent but honestly I earned those after all this. I'm already fond of them because it feels like something I can show proudly to say I won. I was so medically gaslit that this was all normal before this surgeon took me seriously, but now I can look at these scars and feel accomplished in advocating for myself.
It's only been two weeks and I feel like an entirely new person. I no longer need supplements to combat the blood loss from before, I'm not constantly clouded mentally from the pain. It feels like they turned my brain off, took away the bad, and turned everything back on and gave me a whole body reboot. Honestly if it weren't for the incision issues and the noro setback I feel like I'd be ready to jump back into work already! I'm so so excited to get cleared to sit at my PC again! I cannot thank my surgeon enough for giving me my life back and I cannot thank you all enough for sticking through this with me. Things can only go up from here! 💙
With everything, I'm on bed rest and movement/lift restrictions for a couple more weeks and then I'm finally good to go! I'm building up my tolerance to approved activity slowly, and should get the final all clear early next month. I'm hoping to tolerate sitting at my desk in the next week or two! Again I wanna thank you guys so so much for sticking it out with me through this.
Surgery date set!

After much waiting, and many hoops jumped through with the medical system i finally have a date set for everything. I go in jan 2, and should hopefully be set to go home the following day as long as everything goes smoothly! I'm stoked to get this over with, the pain and fatigue both physically and mentally have been horrid, but im so so happy to finally have the chance to get back to myself after recovery! ;w;
That said i am still catching up on everything as fast as i can. my body has been super limiting and its killing me not being able to create like i want to. Bills are pilling up and im desperately trying not to take on more than i can chew just to stay afloat. I was heavily relying on a loan i had previously been approved for to get me through this last stretch but when i went to reapply and get that going i was denied for an undisclosed reason. I'm trying to keep doing pre-posed YCHs but commission sales are always painfully slow this time of year. Firstly a big thank you for the support on the last YCH i posed. The sales from that have been helping me and my spouse stay afloat ;w; Im working on getting those done by the end of the month!
A quick life update, I've been dealing with medical issues for a while that have just gotten worse over the last 8ish months but I'm finally getting answers! I was just tentatively approved for a medically necessary hysterectomy that should let me have my life back! I don't have a scheduled date yet as its pending finally approval from the surgical committee at the local hospital but im so damn close. Ive been quietly dealing with endless pain, fatigue, bleeding, and infections that have kept me from doing as much as i want to so this is really exciting for me. ;o; Ill share the date for that as soon as i have it as i'll require at least 2 weeks of solid bedrest minimum before i can be at my desktop and the recovery period is estimated 6-8 weeks to be somewhat back to normal as this is a major abdominal surgery. This is gonna be rough on my body but im so excited to feel like a normal person again. ;;
Thank you to everyone whos been patient with me during this really slow slump I've been in with art. I desperately want to create for y'all and cant wait to be back to my normal self.

Apartment fire - Commissions open

Last night around 9:30pm my neighbor knocked on our door to alert us that our apartment building caught fire in the laundry room (the door two inches from my front door). We were able to get it under control until the fire department arrived, and thankfully they were able to sort it out before anyone lost their homes. Unfortunately my husband had to go to the hospital for smoke inhalation, and our entire living room is covered in soot and powder from the fire extinguishers.

We are safe but extremely shaken up and I just want to be able to clean up this mess and resume life and work but I am absolutely not equipt with the supplies to clean up this amount of extinguisher chemicals..
Due to this situation, I'm opening for two ref commissions and two shades illustrations to get the cleaners we need so we can resume life. ;; any left over from getting cleaning supplies will be going towards an air purifier as my husband and I are both asthmatic and it's hard to breathe normal in our home right now.

Base Shop- update!

Hey everyone, I'm sorry for how quiet I've been and how slow some progress has been this last couple weeks, I unfortunately lost my insurance and I'm desperately trying to get it back. I've reapplied to try and get it back asap but Im really struggling with work without any of my medications. I wanted to quickly bump and promo my base shop since I gotta pay for my meds out of pocket this month and that's a few hundred I don't have right now.

Quick general update!
I'm gonna be starting a new job towards the end of the month so i can take time to really knock out my backlog without having to take on more work finally. This last year has been really rough financially, mentally, and medically. For the sake of transparency at the end of last year/beginning of this i went from living with finances split three ways to it being all on me to cover everything for about 5ish months. To accommodate this added financial stress i had to take on a lot more than I would normally be comfortable taking on at any given time. This led me to having a backlog i just couldn't keep up with at a reasonable rate while still needing to take on more to stay afloat. Once that financial stress was lessened some again my health immediately took a nose dive.
Its finally being managed to degree and I've been making steady progress on the queue but not at the pace i want and i still had living expenses to keep covering. I've found a job that'll be really accommodating to me having time to work on owed art so i can clear my queue without having to take on a ton more each month and will cover almost all my living expenses. ;o; This job wont be starting until the end of the month so i just gotta stay afloat until then.
Im really excited to be able to have a clean slate once this queue is cleared and hopefully can start out 2023 on a high note. Thank you all so much for having been so understanding and patient with me through all this. ;; <3

Hey guys, sorry for the general slowdown of art over the last couple months, my health took another turn for the worse and that's made working at my previous fast pace really difficult. Ive been in the ER twice this week alone because my current mystery infection has had me at a 103 fever thats been impossible to get down for longer than an hour or so. ;;
That said I'm Still working as fast as i can at owed stuff and i really appreciate everyone's patience with me.
Because of my sickness though I've barely been able to open for much to sustain myself and ive been running off savings to float on and give refunds out to those who are understandably tired of waiting.
