Feed your ex to hungry wolves
Posted 3 years agoWhen it's not enough to say 'Bug off' to your ex, you can feed them to hungry wolves at te Lehigh Valley Zoo. No, really!
Well, okay, you can feed a carcass named after them to the small wolf pack at the Lehigh Valley Zoo (formerly Trexler Game Preserve). It's a rather, ahem, novel way to raise some money for the park.

Save the Lazy Fox Bakery!
Posted 4 years agoThe Lazy Fox bakery is owned and operated by two furries in Wyoming.
The building they are in is being foreclosed without warning, so they are trying to raise cash to buy it, or failing that, to get a loan to buy it.
They have a gofundme, and details are here-

Having a blast on the 4th
Posted 4 years agoVery nearly had a big one out here. Had to drive for some groceries and someone in a car going the opposite way tossed a smoking and sparking something right in front of mine. I just put the pedal down and hurried over it, went off behind the car with a very loud BANG! No damage to either the car or me as far as I can tell, but it wasn't a fun moment.
May the rest of tonight's fireworks be in the sky where they belong!

Quick question for Gumroad merchants/buyers
Posted 4 years agoJust how do you buy something on Gumroad? I've tried hitting the little price tag thing on some art collections, and while it causes a window to open up on my screen I can't see anything to use for actually buying it.

Yes, it's THAT movie! The 'Vore Film'! And read the lines used to describe the film's "action" -- 'Deep Penetrating Evil' as we see a young lovely get consumed. "Dance Hall Disaster invaded by an Undulating Beast". Who were they marketing this film to?
Truly one of the best schlock classics of all time.

Best song for the Anima City nightclubs
Posted 5 years agoI've watched the new BNA anime on Netflix, and it's okay.
I was talking with some non-furry friends about how you'd ever keep people out of the place, which is supposedly 'no humans'. Come on, tell a teenager to not do something and you're basically begging them to do it!
That lead to a discussion about what partying in a Anima City nightclub would be like; what songs would they play?
No one could come up with anything good until I settled the argument with this. You know they'd play it.

The Big Book of Japanese Giant Monster Movies: The Lost F...
Posted 5 years agoRather than complain, a post promoting a book that will hopefully amuse a lot of you:

THAT'S RIGHT. THE LOST FILMS IS BACK. And like a Heisei era Godzilla foe, it’s mutated into its second, bigger, badder form. And it’s got it all: Adam West battling the Big G in BATMAN MEETS GODZILLA? Check. A DAIMAJIN remake starring Steven Seagal? It almost happened. Ultraman teaming with a monkey monster in Thailand’s 6 ULTRA BROTHERS VS. THE MONSTER ARMY? Yep, it exists—even if Tsuburaya Productions wishes it didn’t. This book covers:Unproduced scripts like BRIDE OF GODZILLA (1955), GAMERA VS. THE ICE MEN FROM OUTER SPACE (1966), ULTRAMAN: OPERATION GIANT (1966), KING KONG VS. EBIRAH (1966), GAMERA VS. TWO-HEADED MONSTER W (1971), THE TIME MACHINE II (1979), GODZILLA, KING OF THE MONSTERS IN 3-D (1983), IT ATE CLEVELAND! (1984), COO FROM A DISTANT SEA (1989), MOTHRA VS. BAGAN (1990), GAMERA VS. PHOENIX (1993), GODZILLA VS. GHOST GODZILLA (1995), YAMATO TAKERU II (1997), and HEDORAH VS. MIDORA (2017). Films that came close to shooting, like THE VOLCANO MONSTERS, which Toho produced new monster suits for, and NESSIE—an aborted team-up between Hammer and Toho that sunk itself in the seventies. Partially shot productions such as Daiei’s GIANT HORDE BEAST NEZURA, which had to be shut down when real rats overran the studio.Banned films like ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN (1955), GREAT PROPHECIES OF NOSTRADAMUS (1974) and JUMBORG ACE AND GIANT (1974).Fan films like 1983’s ambitious still in production LEGENDARY GIANT BEAST WOLFMAN VS. GODZILLA and 2003’s GAMERA 4: TRUTH. Oddities like the Italian colorized version of GODZILLA (1978) codenamed “COZZILLA” and even ATTACK OF THE GALACTIC MONSTERS (1983) and SPACE WARRIORS 2000 (1985)!
Hey, I wish we could have seen 'Daimajin vs. Steve Seagal' and 'Wolfman versus Godzilla'!

Ironbadger is home
Posted 5 years ago
Ironbadger's back home according to this:"He came home mid-afternoon today.
Has a lot of short-term followup prescriptions we need to fill tonight, but it'll take him another hour or two before he's able to do it.
Right now, he's on the phone ordering pizza."
So if you want to wish him well, do it here on on his page.
Hopefully now everythig calms down for the both of them.
Good news about Ironbadger
Posted 5 years agoThe latest from Ken:
He expects to be discharged either today or tomorrow.
They want to finish up the last IV antibiotic schedule.
They were talking about the rehab center, but he'd be there only one-two days so it wouldn't make that much sense. And after that nursing home in Seattle where Wuhan Coronavirus went through like fire on gasoline (5-7 dead) I'd be leery of him staying in any sort of medical/nursing facility.
Off oxygen for three days and maintaining normal blood O2 levels.
Chest X-ray Monday night all clear.
He's craving pizza.
So it seems this is almost over and done with, thankfully.

More news on Ironbadger
Posted 5 years agoHe's doing a lot better, color and breathing are vastly improved and he's up and about the room. He should be home by the end of the week. The only problem is that the hospital wants to put him in a rehab place for a couple of days after they discharge him. He could go home and very much wants to, but the hospital is worried about a potential relapse. The fact that Ken is working 10-12 hour shifts at his job and won't be available doesn't help. But Steve is adamant about "You're not putting me in some stinking nursing home!"
So we will see.
So we will see.

Still stable. Awake and coherent. Oxygen saturation in high 90s (normal range) with O2, around 90 (bottom of normal range) without. The new oxygen rig they have him on includes a humidifier which cuts down on his coughing; yesterday they had him on 7 l/hr of O2; tonight he was maintaining high 90s on 5.5. Blood pressure & temperature normal. He is on "breathing treatments" including steroids, put has not mentioned the pulminologist. Bacteria count in his blood is either not going down or going down extremely slowly despite constant antibiotics.

Ironbadger second update
Posted 5 years agoLatest from Ken:
Saw
Ironbadger last night and he was looking better. Exhausted, but better. Oxygen saturation stable in the mid-90s, no fever, even able to get out of bed and take a couple steps to the crapper for a dump. Nurse said they've been culturing his sputum to identify the infection, but he still has bacteria counts which means the infection is still in his lungs.
So he's improving, but slowly.

Update on Ironbadger
Posted 5 years agoHere's the latest from Ken on
Ironbadger's condition:
He's eating some solid food. Last night it was one chicken breast, a handful of zucchini, a little plain pasta, and a small cup of peaches.
He's also keeping stocked on cranberry juice, one of the few things on a hospital diet he actually likes to drink. (Now if they would only stop giving him coffee, which he doesn't drink.)
His oxygen saturation is in the high 90s with oxygen mask, dropping to very low 90s without. According to a mutual friend with medical experience not on FA, 100 is ideal (lungs fully functioning) and 90 is the low end of normal. (Thursday he was barely 90 with oxygen mask and setting off alarms without; Friday mid-90s with oxygen, fluctuationg around 90 without.)
He can sit up in bed, but still needs assistance to actually get out of bed and to the can. When the paramedics took him Thursday morning, he could not even sit up.
Only thing kinda ominous is he's on a rotation of three heavy-duty IV antibiotics to knock out the pneumonia bacteria. And they were increasing the dosage of one of them last night.
I watched them take his vital signs last night; blood pressure normal, fever almost gone. The last one suggests the infection is almost gone,
His diabetes has spiked during the past week, they're restarting his Metaformin plus shooting him up with supplemental timed-release insulin. The diabetes spike has really done a number on his feet; they're all scaly-looking and discolored.
So Steve is definitely better but not completely out of the woods yet.
Oh, and to correct a mistake I made on the previous journal, Steve was taken in to ER Thursday night when he became unresponsive, not Sunday.
He may also have to spend a few extra days in the hospital simply to make sure he stays healthy. He can't be sent home as Ken won't be there; he's working 10-12 hour shifts at his job right now and needs to visit a doctor himself. And still has to take care of the repair bill for getting all the plumbing in his home replaced last month. They're having a very rough time of it.
So if you have any more prayers/good thoughts/well wishes to send Steve's way, please do so!
