Happy fourth birthday, Rat!
Posted 14 years agoRat, my alter ego/fursona/netsona/OC turns four years old today!
I will upload some new stuff later to celebrate. :)
Happy birthday, Rat, and enjoy your gifts!

End of the month upload update! (Oktober)
Posted 14 years agoI've made some new drawings but I haven't had any time to assemble them for upload yet.
New Rouge stuff but no nudes, only suggestive poses and angles.

End of the month upload update! (September)
Posted 14 years agoBeen sick and depressed and have made no new art.
The museum that was going to showcase my art changed the theme and now has an exibit on local photography and other media, no local art. They asked me to make the poster for the new exibit instead, after thinking it over I said no.
The good thing is I'll be making good old porn of Rouge The Bat and other characters I love again instead.

End of the month upload update! 3 (August)
Posted 14 years agoI'm going to have stuff on show at the local museum in November and need to make some good art to showcase. It's the first time I get to showcase my art in public, that isn't on the internet.
This is why there will mostly be non-adult art uploaded for a while.
There will be smut too, just not as much. :)

End of the month upload update! 2 (August)
Posted 14 years agoIt seems the latest batch of stuff I uploaded, that I felt unsure about uploading, was SO bad awful that my latest watcher UNwatched me!
That's what I get for uploading my art, I guess...
No more uploads in a while.
This made me sad.
:(

End of the month upload update! (August)
Posted 14 years agoIt seems that against all odds I've managed to pull some art out of my ass since the last update. However, none of it feels good enough to upload in its current state, it all just feels too unfinished.
Should I upload them anyway? If so, I'll probably be able to do so some day during this week.

End of the month upload update! (July)
Posted 14 years agoNo uploads this month, I'm afraid. Perhaps August will be better.
End of the month upload update! (June)
Posted 14 years agoHopefully I'll be able to upload some new stuff again within the following days before the month ends.
I don't have that much to upload, I've been far to busy lately to have time over for art.
Soon I should have more spare time because of everyone else having summer holidays, then I will be able to take time to stay home and draw instead of being away on errands and business every bloody day.

No digital art for a while...
Posted 14 years agoSo I haven't had a computer for ages, and I probably won't be getting one any time soon, so all digital pics I have that are unfinished will remain that way until further notice.
Bad news for you who were expecting old requests to be done any time soon, but good news in the way that I will upload some new (non-digital) drawings.
I'll try to get at least some new drawings uploaded in the next few days, but no promises...

My latest purchases [Updates every time I buy new games!]
Posted 15 years ago Urban Chaos [PC] (got it cheap pre-owned)
-
Speed Challlenge [PC] (got it cheap pre-owned)
-
Bionicle Heroes )o(Xbox360( (got it relatively cheap for a pre-owned game, I just wanted it because I like Roodaka and read online that she was in this as a boss fight)
-
Okami [PS2..] (got it relatively cheap for a new game, I knew it was a good game but it was actually a lot better than I though, I haven't bought it earlier because of Capcom and Clover's past games (Resident Evil 4 and God Hand) that had a bug in them that corrupted memorycards (happened to me twice, once with RE4 and then again with GH, lost all my saves both times) but it was cheap so I gave it a try, it hasn't corrupted my memorycard yet so I hope the bug isn't in this game)
Shadowgrounds Survivor [PC] (got it dirt cheap for a new game, haven't played it but it was dirt cheap and the screenshots on the back of the box reminded me of Alien Syndrome on PSP (the game that got recognized a few years back for looking better on PSP than on Wii))
Starshine Legacy: Episode 2 - The secret of Pine Hill Mansion [PC] (got it dirt cheap for a new game, haven't played it but it was dirt cheap so whatever)
Starshine Legacy: Episode 3 - The Legend of Pandoria [PC] (got it dirt cheap for a new game, haven't played it but it was dirt cheap so whatever)
-
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat [>XBox<] (got it cheap pre-owned, barely worth the money, the controls kill me more often than anything else, it takes several seconds to just turn around 180 degrees, that's more than enough to be killed by a barrage of bullets to the back)
Colin McRae Rally 04 [>XBox<] (got it cheap pre-owned, barely worth the money, in some ways even worse than RalliSport Challenge, in other ways better, it lacks the Lancia Stratos but at least it has a Lancia 037 as an unlockable)
Splinter Cell [>XBox<] (got it cheap pre-owned, barely worth the money, it's aged horribly)
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory [>XBox<] (got it cheap pre-owned, I am no fan of Tom Clancy or any of his other works but this game was actually pretty good, and a lot better than the original Splinter Cell)
-
Descent 2 [PC] (got it cheap pre-owned, I liked the original Descent on PlayStation so the sequel was an interresting purchase, when I get a funtional computer again I'll try it and see if it works)
-
RalliSport Challenge [>XBox<] (got it cheap pre-owned, barely worth the money, lacks both the Lancia Stratos and the Lancia 037)
-
Pandemonium 2 [PC] (got it cheap pre-owned, an old favorite I've been looking for for a long time)
-
Fitness Fun [PS2..] (got it relatively cheap for a new game, I usually don't like rythm, music and dance games, but this is kind of like an anime bikini babe version of Um Jammer Lammy, and that's awesome, I love Tamsoft games)
Tokobot Plus: Mysteries of the Karakuri [PS2..] (got it relatively cheap for a new game, I like the original PSP game and this updated PS2 port with extra content is just as good)
Zombie Virus [PS2..] (got it relatively cheap for a new game, another Tamsoft game I've looked for for ages, pure arcade fun mowing down zombies in a customizable ambulance, awesome)

Rat's Birthday!
Posted 16 years ago(For those who don't know, Rat is my Netsona/Fursona/Original Character thingy, well one of them, the one that has become the most popular and well known anyway, and today it's been two years since I created him.)
Yes! Today is Rat's birthday! :3
He's two years old today and TOTALLY oblivious about it! So I just put him outside to play with the leaves...
What? He loves doing that! For a two-year-old it's like dying and going to Valhalla!
Anyway, happy birthday Rat, have a good one playing in the leaves! *hugs Rat* ^^
PS.
Watch out for cats! Maybe I should go check on him... o_o

Another avatar and 100 watchers!
Posted 16 years agoI found one of my old 3D model renders on one of my old external harddrives and made it into an avatar with the text from my favorite Die Krupps song! :3

Also, I now have 100 people watching me! It seems that's a big deal, so I guess I'm happy about that. *wags tail* o3o So, um... breadcrumbs for everyone! *puts out a plate with breadcrumbs for everyone to feast upon*

MURR! New avatar! What do you think?
Posted 16 years agoI decided to make a new avatar in MS Paint because I was bored and felt like it.
I have been reading about the Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars game (finally) being ported to PSP.
It reminds me of the good GTAs, the ones that came before the shitty GTAIII and newer GTAs, back when GTA meant top-down view (aka "the GTA view") only, back when the cars were 2D sprites in a 3D world, back when fun was more important than killing hookers and lame storylines about mafia stuff I could not care less about, back when GTA made me smile instead of sigh (both out of disapointment and boredom), and so I decided to draw a pixelart car in MS Paint (MS Paint because it's all I got that works right now).
I've also been playing a lot of L.A. Rush lately both on Xbox and PSP (mainly on PSP, for obvious reasons) and I wanted to make a car that reminded me of the cars you drive in that game.
And I have also been seeing a lot of people use "murr" when commenting on FA, and pretty much an equal amount of people hating people who use "murr" on websites other than FA.
So I wanted to incorporate all those things in my avatar and this is the result!
FA messed up the colors a little because they insist on converting it to .gif upon uploading... it still looks acceptable though.

So I was on my way to work this morning...
Posted 16 years ago...when all of a sudden I violently get propelled forward and downward towards the fucking ground!
After what to me seemed like instantly I get back on my feet, a little off balance but still able to stand, only to be met by a crowd of people asking me how I feel and if I'm alright, telling me I've been out cold for about 10-15 minutes.
Turns out some teenagers on their way to school hadn't seen me as they were speeding by me on their bikes and one genius in the bunch had crashed straight into me from behind, knocking me to the ground with such force that I was literally knocked unconcious for several minutes.
Thankfully no bones were broken and my clothes had taken most of the superficial damage. A skinned knee was the only place I was actually bleeding from, the rest of my body was just really sore and aching.
I then after assuring the people I was alright continued on my way to work, as I finally got there I cleaned my wounds and took a painkiller to get me through the day.
Now it's been about 10 hours since it happened and the painkillers have worn off, so I'm sitting here sore and aching again writing this journal entry.

Birthday Today!
Posted 16 years agoPart I.
Yay, it's mah barfday!
I got a venus fly trap! It'll probably die within a week or so but it's still awesome. I love venus fly traps.
I also seem to have gotten a cold (or the first symptoms of swineflu, I dunno) but I'm not sure if I should count that as a gift... yet. We'll see how much other stuff I get, if I don't get anymore then I might count it as one to raise the gifts-per-birthday ratio... o_o
I mentioned in my previous journal I wanted to draw something to celebrate my birthday, but had no time and no computer to do it on/with... so just as I predicted, I haven't been able to draw anything.
Huge shocker there. I'll let it sink in before I continue...
...I've started a pic, but it's traditional art with pen/pencil/whatever you call it on normal notebook paper.
It's not like I can get it done in a day, what with all the erasing and stuff that's needed when I draw traditionally, so it'll probably not be done before midnight tonight either. We'll see...
Other than that I'll update later in case something else happens that's worth mentioning..
Oh, Rat said he was gonna give me my gift later... I can't help but think it's the breadcrumb he's been trying to "catch" lately. It's just been layng on the floor like any other breadcrumb, but he's been shuffling around it like he's hunting for about three weeks now. It's cute, but I think he way have overanalyzed the situation a little...
End of Part I.
Part II.
The day is now over and I didn't get any art done at all, been way to busy with family members comming over and eating up all my cake...
I got a venus fly trap plant, wich is AWESOME, some other crap, some birthday cards and some candy.
Rat has not given me anything yet... actually I haven't seen him at all for several hours. I wonder what he's up too...
End of Part II.
Part III. (almost two weeks later...)
I finally got my gift from Rat!
It turned out that when he found out that I got a Venus Flytrap, he wanted to give me something related to that. So he had set out to catch a fly!
And not being very large in size, he didn't exactly have an easy task ahead of him...
He had gone out of the city to the countryside, because he knew there were lots of flies on the different farms with farm animals like horses and cows.
To bad he didn't take a map with him, because, as always, he got lost in the woods pretty much instantly.
Luckily with the help of some helpful forest animals he managed to find a farm where they had more flies than they needed. Now he just had to catch one, and ithad to be alive at that!
He started trying to set up what in his mind were infinitely clever and unescapable trap devices (like placing a sugar cube on the floor, wait for a fly to land on it and then jump the fly to catch it), and after a few days of trial and error he actually caught a fly WITHOUT killing it in the process!
So now he had the gift and only had to return home with it...
We all know by now that he got lost again and the fly died after a relatively short time, so I won't bore you with those additional details...
He finally returned home, sad that he wasn't able to give me a live fly, but I explained to him that flies when they get captured go into hibernation and that it wasn't dead at all and that he had done an absolutely amazing job (wich he in all honesty had) and that it was the best gift on them all! And concidering what he went through to get it it was without any doubt the most thoughtful gift of them all.
We then fed the fly to Omnom (that's what I named the Venus Flytrap) and it was the best birthday ever! =3
Oh, and Rat finally caught that illusive breadcrumb as well. It is now on display in his trophy cabinet.
End of Part III.

Birthday on Saturday...
Posted 16 years ago...yeah.
I wanna draw something to make sure I get at least one gift this year, but without a functional computer to make digital art on and no energy left when I get home from my new job* to make traditional art on, I just dunno if I'll be able to make anything by Saturday.
I even got Rat's birthday pic planned out, and I've started the lineart already (Even though it's not due until November!), but nothing for myself...
*It's not really a job, it's just work training rehab without pay, rehab from being long-term depressed for so many years, so I might be able to get a real job after a 6 month period... *sigh*

Computer + Failure = No Art
Posted 16 years agoYesterday my computer died... kind of.
The computer itself is alive, but Windows is dead, and gives me a blue screen every time I try to start it, even with Safe Mode and all that other stuff enabled.
So now I'm forced to use this Linux based OS called Knoppix that works simply by running off a CD. It's not as good as Windows, not by a long shot, but at least I can access my data.
The sound doesn't work and it constantly freezes or crashes the programs it comes outfitted with, but it's still better than a blue screen with no other options, so I'll endure it for the time being.
Hopefully things will be back to normal soon, but until then I'm stuck with it.
All art is on hold until I can resolve these problems... :(
UPDATE
I found out that Knoppix was not compatible with NTFS, so I had to find something else.
With the help of a friend I found another similar thing with a miniature version of Windows XP on it, with full NTFS support! So now I hope I can backup all my data without any more major obstacles, I've already managed to get some of the most important data copied, but I still have tons and tons of other stuff to backup too, mostly 3D models and images, but also music, tons of zipped archives of stuff and other stuff as well. All in all I have about 85GB of data to copy, and so far I think I've only copied about 2, maybe 3GBs, so I still have a long way to go, but at least it's working!
This Mini Windows XP runs from my USB memory, so it's a lot less hassle than having to burn out stuff on CDs all the time like Knoppix had to, and it comes with Opera instead of that god awful worthless piece of garbage Firefox, so that's good too... not as good as proper XP with IE6, but it's still an improvement, and that is always welcome.
Sadly it lacks any type of other programs like Knoppix had though, no image editing programs (Knoppix had GIMP), no messenger programs (Knoppix had one, don't remeber the name, penguin something I think it was called...), no media players (Knoppix had one called GNOME) or any other stuff like that.
The strange thing is, neither Knoppix nor Mini XP can get sound to work... I'm beginning to think it may be my soundcard that is causing all these problems. At first I thought it was the RAM, but I've runs lots of tests and no errors have been found, then I tested the harddrives a little, and none of those seemed to have any errors that might cause this problem either.
I dunno, I'm not into the technical side of computers much, but I'm going to disable audio in the BIOS to see if I may be able to startup the computer normally by doing that. If that doesn't work I'll just assume it's something else causing all this, something completely unknown to me.
So yeah, I'll be busy copying files and stuff for a while...

What's happening?
Posted 16 years agoWorking on an MS Paint drawing of a fox in the woods.
I'm not gonna lie, it's planned to be really detailed and will probably take a long time to make.
I'm testing ways to draw ever single detail on every tree behind the fox.
I'll also try to add some minor details more to the fox, but right now I'd like to concentrate on the trees as much as possible.
MS Paint has some tricks that I like to use, and this time I'm going to use them to their breaking point!
The current size is 2560x2048. It started as 1280x1024 but I decided to make it twice as large for the details, so I scaled and used the original as reference and redrew it all over again.
What I'm trying to say with all this is really just that until it's done I will not do any other art, so don't expect updates until that one get's posted, whenever that'll happen...
UPDATE (27/7 2009):
I've taken a break from the fox pic because those damn trees were killing me.
I'll go back to complete it eventually, but I just don't wanna look at it anymore right now.
Instead I've been working on a new Rouge The Bat pic with her seen from behind.
Now, Rouge herself, with lineart, color and all that, have been done for about a week, but the background is proving to be a much tougher challenge.
So far I've made several different backgrounds, but I don't really like ANY of them that much...
I was originally gonna make the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure 2 the background, but I just couldn't get it to look like it did in the game, so then I tried putting her on a cliff with a sea/sky view in the background, that looked pretty good on it's own but with Rouge and especially the grass I made for Rouge to stand on didn't fit the background one bit, so now I'm currently stuck with Rouge with a plain transparent/white background and we'll see where it ends... if only I can make up my mind about what the background is going to be, and then how I'm going to work Rouge into the background so it doesn't look like two separate images, then I might actually have a complete image done...

I have some drawings of two of my original characters, some old and some brand new, some drawn in Open Canvas and some in MS Paint that later have been modified and enhanced in Photoshop.
Both characters are human.
Only the two Open Canvas images contain nudity, the rest are merely suggestive in nature.
Now I'm simply wondering how much interest there is from you to see these images of mine.
If enough people want to see them, I'll upload them, otherwise they stay offline in my private collection.
So if you wish too see them, make your voices heard...

Funker Vogt - Under Deck
Posted 18 years agoThe sea was calm
And the night was hot
We were staying under deck
When the first boat shot
No suprise to us
That it hit us not
We were drinking under deck
When the second boat shot
The third boat loaded weapons
Before it's cannon shot
We were dancing under deck
When the fourth boat shot
We never will be hit
Led by the hand of god
We were sleeping under deck
When the next one shot
Aboard our ship
Down to the sea
We'll always be safe
God set us free
We seize upon the enemy
We win the fight
We're supposed to win
Because we have this right
Aboard our ship
Down to the sea
We'll always be safe
God set us free
We seize upon the enemy
We win the fight
We're supposed to win
Because we have this right
The wind blew hard
And the sea was rough
We were laughing under deck
When the last one shot
Aboard our ship
Down to the sea
We'll always be safe
God set us free
We seize upon the enemy
We win the fight
We're supposed to win
Because we have this right
Aboard our ship
Down to the sea
We'll always be safe

watermarks or no.txt
Ok...so I post my art on many artsites, DA, FA, and yiffstar as well as others. Now first of all, I hate having to put a watermark on my artwork. It sucks. No one likes doing it. But you know what? There are art theifs out there that will steal our art and use it as there own. This has happened to me a number of times and its very sad. So to help stop that i have to put a BIG FUCKING WATERMARK on my picture. (excuse my language)
Srsly tho, if you can't enjoy the picture even with the watermark, then i dunno...maybe there is something wrong with you. So...I posted my Pin-Up: Galina pic on Yiffstar. a user posted this comment on my pic:
i'm sorry, i really am
i was going to give you a 5/5 and fav, but then i saw the water mark
i really hate people that use watermarks, it's ruins the picture and defeats the purpose of even making it
there's nothing wrong with a signature, but a water mark sprawled across the image is like throwing a bucket of paint on the Mona Lisa
pity, it's a nice piece of work too, but you just had to put that trash on it
such a shame
How fucking rude is that? You don't have to say something like that. YEAH I HATE WATERMARKS TOO but you don't need to say "I hate people that use watermarks" How about I HATE PEOPLE THAT STEAL ART because if everyone on the internet wasn't a dick then i wouldn't have to do that.
So what do you guys think? Do you hate watermarks too?

I think the watermarks are necessary evils for talented artists, sadly. I mean, for close friends, they can be given special copies, but for everyone, they get the marked version (hint hint) ^_~
Anyways, ignore him. *luffles on Nyoko* <3

Your watermark is not bad at all. The one DA lets you put on things is much harder to enjoy a pic with. You do what you have to. You've chosen that the irritation of folks who will tell you they hate you/that you watermark is less than the irritation of having your art stolen. I don't see it as any different than other choices folks make. Some folks will express their distaste at your choice to your face, and most will just shrug and keep it to themselves.

It's not rude or ignorant, and I agree 100% with whoever wrote that.
Watermarks and people who watermark art ruin art, and there are never any acceptable reasons to do such things.
Art theft is actually one of the worst reasons because you're not hurting the art theif by watermarking you're only hurting the art and the fans who haven't done anything wrong.
The art theives will just move on to stealing someone elses art if watermarking is all that is done do to "stop" them.
While the art itself and the fans are left to suffer for it.
Don't let one bad thing lead to another, because unlike popular belief two wrongs do not make a right...
Think about it... would you wreck your car/house/clothes/etc. so no one would want to steal that as well? No, you most likely wouldn't... but you'd ruin your art to keep people from wanting to steal that?
I just find that very odd, and I don't understand such behavior especially among talented and/or well known artists... whoever stole your art for example couldn't possible make more in the same style and quality as you can so proving they stole your art would be easy and in no way result in you permanently ruining your art for everyone, right?
(please excuse my english if there are errors, it's not my native language and I'm tired)

Hope you get some rest, your English seems fine to me. Just curious what is your native language?
Everyone has there own views. No You don't ruin your car, you make sure your doors are locked. To me, putting a watermark on my art is the same thing. Sorry if it ruins the image. Also for those people that commission me, I send them a high quality image without the watermark so they can enjoy it, since they paid me to do art for them (or requests that i do or trades of course)
Yes I agree that watermarks suck. Im just saying that it is a necessary thing for me. Also No, the thief's probably couldn't make more art in my style, but they then just go and steal more art that i have done and post that as well. I used to not put watermarks on my images and i had quite a few people steal like...20 pictures that i had done. Then they convinced people to commission them and pay them first. Then they would just disappear and people would find *me* and i would be blamed for stealing. It is a very big pain when other people ruin your reputation especially when your not a very well known artist.
I don't find that it is rude that people don't like watermarks. I find it rude to just be like "oh i hate people that do that and you just trashed your picture" I don't like people being rude. There are other ways to word such things. People can have their own opinions but please try and understand the artists view and why they do something instead of just being hateful or rude. Besides, My watermarks are usually very faded so that people can still see the picture. I don't like having a big distraction.
Anyways, thank you for sharing your view with me. I appreciate it.

My native language is swedish.
I wasn't trying to be hateful or rude (I was just sharing my view), and I don't think the person who wrote that comment on your watermarked image was trying to be either.
The contrary actually, it should be seen as a compliment that they would like to add your art to their favorites, and that they were kind enough to explain to you why they didn't.
Art is more important to me than pretty much anything, so my opinions may be a bit more extreme than those of "normal" people, who aren't that attached to art in their lives.
I just don't belive in punishing the innocent for crimes that other people have comitted. Not in any way, shape or form.
To me, watermarking because of an art theif, so the art and the fans suffer, is exactly that. Punishing the fans for crimes the art theif commited, and I just hate to see that happen.
I feel sorry for all artists that have had their art used against them in any way, and I understand their pain. I have had stuff happen to me as well, though not as severe as your scenario.
I cannot accept having the art itself and the fans suffer as a necessary evil. Because it's not necessary! It's a choise the artist makes that in no way is a have to.
To me it is the wrong choise because it's ultimately nothing but a selfish act that only really serves to hurts everyone but the person who did the crime.
It first hurts the artist because people won't be able to enjoy the art and thus the artist won't get the recognition they otherwise would get for their hard work, then it hurts the art itself, of course, by lowering the quality of it and not allowing the art to be seen in it's supposed form, and finally it hurts the fans who can't enjoy the art properly either.
All because of the one person the watermark effects the least, the theif, who simply ignores it, has a laugh at the damage he/she was able to cause, and moves on to steal from someone else as if nothing has happened.
Watermarking simply isn't an effective or a fair way of protecting art. Unless it's done right...
...I would like to add that if the watermark in no way serves as a distraction and the art can still be fully enjoyed then I have no problem with it, even when the watermarks are still there doing their job.
However, the type of watermarks that span all over an image is by no means acceptable! (deviantart sadly has tons of these...*shakes head*)
To me, the line is crossed when I have to focus on seeing the art. I should have to focus to see the watermark, not the other way around. That is where I draw the line for where I think it is to much watermark and to little art, and that is when I lose respect for the artist as well, when they are more concerned about art theft than sharing their art to the world.

That is where I draw the line for where I think it is to much watermark and to little art, and that is when I lose respect for the artist as well, when they are more concerned about art theft than sharing their art to the world.
Going to Austria!
Posted 18 years agoIn nothing short of 2 hours I am on my way to the airport where I'll hop on a plane and fly down over Europe and land somewhere in Austria.
My gums around one of my teeth which I not long ago had a cavity in that was "fixed" has been swollen all day.. I always clean that tooth with extra care but somehow it's gone crazy, and the pain it's delivering isn't exactly on the small scale either, it shoots up pain from my opper lip to my forehead! I hate that tooth so much..
I hope it'll get better soon cause I don't want that messing up the trip.
It's me, my mom ,her fiancee and my grampa who's going. We'll be staying for 7 dayas, a week, and check out places where my grampa was raised and stuff. So this trip means a lot to me and my family in that way because grampa is not getting younger and this is probably the last trip we'll ever make with hm.. that's why I'm totally freaking out because of my tooth!
And I'm feeling a bit depressed too.. just missing how my life was before 2006 started.. everything after that has gone downhill in just about every single way. I hate these weak moments where I just feel so angry and helplessly sad about everything bad that's happened. I wish I could go back and change everything to the better but alas, no possible.
I better finish packing my stuff, only got 1 hour 45 minutes left till we leave..
Wish me luck on my journey! (ha, as if anyone reads this)
