Most of these get links to sites with multiple drawings. because honestly, one pic doesn't really give you that great of a scope. Except Mignola of course, I should hope we all know what his stuff looks like, haha.

Tealin Raintree - She gets number one, because I found her during my formative artistic stage, in grade 7 or so (thank you, Harry Potter), and she's stuck with me. A lot of my influences were found more or less through her - she is certainly credited with making me want to read Discworld books, and lord only knows what that's done for my cynicism.

Paul Kidby - The Discworld's current illustrator extrordinare. Google him for more stuff - he's so varied, but there isn't a single webpage with a collection of his stuff on it, although he hase a couple rather smashing art books.

Mike Mignola - Interestingly, this was initially indirect - before I knew who he was, I was being unconsiously influenced by people who had been influenced by Mignola. Too many to list.

Peter de Sève - His drawings have such personality. C: He does a lot of concept art for Disney movies, and he also does a lot of New York Times covers.

Garrett Hanna - Probably the most obscure person on this list, Mr Hanna just happened to be in fourth year of my program last year, when I was in first year and trying to learn how to colour better.

Just wanted to say: I'm not even going to QUESTION Naruto/Sasuke shippers anymore, after a chapter like that. I'm not one m'self, but I mean good grief, it's practically canon now, to the point where I wonder if Kishimoto secretly ships them himself.

And usually the first ten pages are devoted to backstory because we don't know who the hell these animu dudes are and golly it's HARD to show personality past uke/seme, and so much easier to pretend that a terrible home life and/or all your family members dying is an adequate replacement for a character arc.

I mean fer chrissakes I realize ya read it for the pr0nz, but you could at least TRY, yaoi manga writers. Make the characters at least EARN the sex somehow, not just for the reason that they are animu dudes.

Second year of animation here we goooo.

Can someone explain to me what exactly you find so alluring about furries/scalies/whatever-the-heck-ies? I've encountered several journals/submissions about how HORRIBLE everyone finds bestiality to be, and yet... you're essentially drawing sex-i-fied animals, aren't you? Which means you think animals are hot, and while you are probably not actually banging any, why are you so revolted by the idea when that's pretty much all you draw? I presume the "pretty much all you draw" bit of course, but since a lot of people on here claim to not be able to draw humans I doubt it's an entirely unfounded conclusion, haha.*

I predict that some of you might point to Disney and other similar companies that make use of what can be broadly termed "furries," but then, those onscreen animals don't walk around with over-large erections dampened with glistening spooge either. AKA: they are what I label as Cool-i-fied Animals, whereas Furries are pretty much sex on legs. Therefore furries =/= Disney's Robin Hood. BUT NICE TRY. XD (If you're curious I can go into detail about what does and does not equal a furry, at least to my mind.)

Also, I obviously recognize that the typical muscle-sculpted furries are not the only things populating this site. But come on admit it - you're here for the porn. XD

So I guess my overreaching question here is: if you think being attracted to animals is gross, what exactly is it that you like about looking at/drawing furry pics? Feel free to both answer this and refute anything else I've mentioned before it, haha.

And uh, I'm not trying to offend anyone with this, I'm just kind of boggled, and it irks me when I don't understand something properly. Like most people, I only have an 8 1/2 by 11 inch size scanner. Unfortunately, mine's got elevated ridges as well, so I can't even scan piece by piece very well because of the resulting annoying shadow. So I figured that since my scanner isn't suitable that I might as well look into getting a bigger one.

Except I can't hardly find anything near what I want for lower than 3000 bucks. What the hell. I don't want any of those bajillion-page jobs or ridiculous DPIs, I just want a functional scanner I can fit things on. My silly scanner that's part of my all-in-one has quality enough for me, it's just the SIZE that's not right (and the ridges), and that only cost me 50 bucks. :I I don't care about "color feature extraction" or "error diffusion halftoning" or "adaptive thresholding." DO THOSE PHRASES EVEN MEAN ANYTHING AT ALL.

Anyway, do any of you guys have any idea if such a thing as I desire exists, and if so where? Just a flatbed scanner, size maybe around 11x17 inches. Preferably not a thousand dollars. :|

Uh. Apparently we (we being any program at Sheridan in the art department, including mine which is animation) get Adobe Master Collection this year. Normally $2900 (Canadian moneys, like 2500 american), we get it for like $150. And the $150 is already paid as part of our tuition. They will tack this on every year from now on, and we get a new copy every year.

Holy pants.

I am stricken by the sudden irrepressible urge to animate something. In truth, it's been lingering at the back of my mind for the whole summer that I really, really, ought to animate something so that I'm not rusty when school comes rolling around again. But I am continually stuck on the what of what to animate.

I know I want to animate to some dialogue, so I've been looking around online for soundclips, but although I've saved a few nothing's really struck a chord with me.

So do any of you guys have any suggestions? Movie clips, song clips, clips from radio plays. I don't need any context for any of these things, mind you - it's fun to make it up according to how it sounds anyway.

Final Battle: Bury Me With It - Modest Mouse. Yep, cutting back and forth from my drunken husband stumbling home and me at home doing something like burning his dinner or something. And then... he comes home! Epic struggle! I hit him with the frying pan! A bit too hard, perhaps on reflection...

No price changes, just tidying it up and added the sketch page.

The sketch page is basically as many drawings as I can squish onto a page. It can be all one character, or multiple chars. It's completely random as too what size and stuff it'll be, I'll probably mix it up a lot to keep me interested. :)

I'm also considering offering icons, for like 5$-7$ or something. But, uh, I will try it out on me first I think unless there's somebody really daring out there, lol, as majestic as my frog avatar may be.
