Go Washington! Go Maryland! Go Maine!
Posted 13 years agoFirst off all, congratulations to the US for re-electing Obama!
But what I found equally important was that the states of WA, MD and ME were also called to vote about legalizing GAY MARRIAGES and I am happy to hear that the gay-rights supporters won in all three states. YAY!

Bravo, Britain!
Posted 13 years agoThe 2012 Summer Olympics in London are officially over, and after watching the closing ceremony on TV, I take my hat off to the British.
It was a spectacular show with many great performances and beautiful fireworks... I love fireworks! <3 <3 <3
The problem with the Olympics in general is that the IOC is a highly corrupt organization and questionable morals, while we can assume that more than 60% of the athletes are doped with anabolic steroids and who-knows-what, making their performances questionable at times and definitely not suitable for being role models, but nonetheless the Olympics have a special atmosphere that lets us forget all this and enjoy a more or less peaceful competition between people from all over the world.
The Londoners were great hosts and certainly made the past 2 weeks more enjoyable than the games in Beijing 4 years ago, mostly because of their laid-back attitude.
Thank you very much!
(They also proved that Mitt Romney was wrong :-P)

More thoughts on rule 34: TaleSpin
Posted 13 years agoOkay, while there certainly are more than enough rule 34 pics dealing with TailSpin on FA, I must say that I was surprised that the most obvious pairing the show has to offer is not that common.
Shere Khan and Don Karnage.
The two biggest bad boys and each one is pretty popular and has been featured in rule 34 fanart quite often.
...but most of the time they were featured SEPERATELY and with other characters from the show, but not WITH EACH OTHER!
I wonder why that is. There are a few Don Karnage/Shere Khan pics out there, sure... but not as many as I'd have thought and those aren't of very good quality either.
So that's what I want: more high quality Shere-Khan-fucking-Don porn :-D
Peace out! ^.^

The final journal about football/soccer: Viva Espana!
Posted 13 years agoWell, the final of the EURO 2012 is over and the new and old European champion is Spain!
They certainly deserved it after a 4-0 humiliation conga against Italy.
I felt a little sorry for the Italians, actually: while Germany and Portugal at least scored some "honorary" goals when they got kicked out in the semi-finals, Italy was denied that chance to save face.
Spain is now tied with Germany for the most wins of the European championship and is also the first team to defend its title (Spain also won in 2008).
The last 3 weeks were lots of fun football-wise, now it's 2 years before the next big international tournament: the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Adios!

A journal about football/soccer: Oh well!
Posted 13 years agoAfter 90 minutes of agony (on one side), Italy beat Germany 2-1 in the semi-finals of the European Football Championship.
The Italians deserved the win, there is no point in denying that. The German team was playing disoriented and wasted many of its chances, while the Italians only had a few opportunities to achieve a goal, but they used most of theirs.
The defense of the German team was jarringly weak, a repeating fault that I also noticed at the last World Cup.
Then finale will be held on Sunday and it's gonna be Spain vs Italy.
It's hard to say who's gonna win, but the Spaniards are entering the match as favorites.

A journal about football/soccer: Goalfest!
Posted 13 years agoAnd Germany made it to the semi-finals with a 4-2 victory over Greece!
All six goals were made by six different players. That game was full of action and very fun to watch!
The next opponent will be either Italy or England. There are pros and cons about both teams: the English are very easy to beat by a German team (no offense! ) but there is still a score to settle with the Italians because they kicked us out in the World Championship semi-finals in 2006.
So either way it will be most interesting!

Hats off to the Danes, though, they put up a good fight!
Germany is the only team that achieved three wins in the tournament's group phase.

Damn you, Wikichain!
Posted 13 years agoIt happened again! I started on TVTropes with the entry for the "Alien" series and 3 1/2 hours later I end up on Wikipedia reading about the Voyager 1 and 2 space probes.
Not only did it steal a huge amount of time of my day, when I was finally able to break the chain and got up to do some mundane tasks like washing dishes and changing the bedsheets, I went into "philosophy mode", thinking about the endlessness of space, the distances in the solar system and how dumb people can be so much happier than intelligent ones.
Need to play video games now...

A Gargoyles rule 34 question
Posted 13 years ago
neonoae and I were talking about it a while ago. Now, we all know that Lexington is the gay one in the Gargyoles clan, but he's not that hot.
Noa's and my favorites are Broadway and Brooklyn, respectively.
I say, Brooklyn is the hotter one, Noa says it's Broadway.
Which one do you find sexier and who would you say is dom, who is sub? XD

Lady Gaga, stick to speaking French or Spanish, because your German is just... WTF XD

Yeah, I'm crazy about Lady Gaga's Americano right now... that song just won't leave my ear!
Heard it a few days ago when a friend of mine put in his Gaga CD and the song reminded me of last November, when
codyvfrost and me went to the theatre to see "Puss in Boots". Why does it? Because the song played over the end credits of the movie ^.^
(Besides, I like Lady Gaga in general, so sue me :-P)

Happy New Year 2012!
Posted 14 years agoWell, it's only 5 more hours til midnight here in Central Europe, so I might as well post the journal now, because I won't be able to later tonight and I don't want to wait until tomorrow ^.^
Happy New Year to all you great furs out there!
Survive the night and may your wishes and hopes for the new year come true!
When I look back at 2011, I see 12 months of many ups and a few downs.
I did have problems with my studies at the beginning of the year and I didn't get the job I wanted near the end of the year, but there have been great moments.
The best of those and worth mentioning is definitely the trip to California and MFF in November.
I got to meet a lot of awesome people, but spending a weekend witrh
neonoae for the first time in real life was definitely one of the best moments in my life!
I love you, my cuddlehybrid!
I am so happy that you are in my life and amazed that we've been together for more than a year now!
Here's to many more with you!
(Assuming, of course, that the world will not end on Dec 21 2012 XD)

End of series depression
Posted 14 years agoDo you know that feeling?
You're watching the very last episode of a TV series you really liked, they wrapped it all up and after the credits roll and you turn off the dvd player... you feel kinda empty inside. Like something's missing, something's been taking away from you. And you know it's ridiculous because you can watch any episode at any time again (cuz you have them on dvd), but still...
I get that feeling every time I watch one of the series I have on dvd completely and yesterday it happened with Scrubs for the very first time. I was kinda sad that it was over.
*sigh*

Oh, hey guys! I guess now that reality has got me back, I might as well write a lil about California and the Midwest Furfest near Chicago. Expect a wall of text!
So after an 11 hour flight in a packed, crowded plane with annoyingly loud Kazakhs on board (seriously, there were a lot of international passengers on board, but those 5 or 6 people were the loudest),
codyvfrost (aka Vince) picked me up from the airport and we drove to his place.
Weather in Los Angeles was surprisingly cloudy that day and Vince told me that the temperatures were below the average for that time of the year. But it was still warmer than at home, so - that's one of the reasons I came anyway ^.^
We didn't do much that evening, except going to the movie theatre and watching "Puss in Boots".
The movie was cute. They tried too hard with some of the jokes IMO, but hey, a kitty was the main character and Antonio Banderas' voice is super hot! <3
The next day we went on a 2.5 mile hike at Malibu Creek State Park. Some people might know that I'm a huge M*A*S*H fan and that's where they shot all the outdoor scenes of the series (and the motion picture, for that matter). Because it had rained a lil the two days before I arrived, we faced some rather large mud puddles, but were able to cross them relatively clean. (Though we later both noticed some dried mud on the lower parts of our pants.)
We were the only people at the M*A*S*H site and I took some pictures... I even got to pose next to the iconic signpost of the series ^.^
After that we hit the beach, because while we were hiking it was sunny and very warm (too warm for Vince, I thought it was perfect), so that would've been some nice beach weather, right?
Except that when we got to Dume Point Beach in Malibu, there was a constant cold breeze. And the sun was setting even though it was only 3 p.m. So yeah... we just watched some freestyle rock climbers going up the cliffs there and called it a day.
Unfortunately Vince could only take 2 days off work that week so I spent the next two days chilling at his house. Thanks to his fiancé however, I was able to try out Dragon Age Origins that was installed on his computer and I really like that game ^.^
On Wednesday we stopped at the Griffith Park Observatory first to get some nice photos with the HOLLYWOOD sign in the background. Our luck was that the fog that covered many parts of the LA area wasn't hanging over the Hollywood Hills (but downtown instead) so that we had a clear view in that direction.
After that we hit the Natural History Museum and looked at the exhibits there.
Most memorable was a stuffed Sumatra tiger that was very cute and of course the dinosaur skeletons... turns out you can make very good fun of them, especially T-Rex (renamed G-Rex = Gayrannosaurus Rex) and Carnotosaur for the useless little arms XD
The museum was followed by the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. It was really nice, lots of different fish and jellyfish participating in a group bondage thing. I also touched a stingray... it had a very rough skin.
We still haven't figured out how the "Sarcastic Fish" got its name, because it didn't want to talk with us.
On my last day in LA we drove out to Vasquez Rocks, an interesting landmark in the desert where quite a few scenes from Hollywood movies and TV series were shot. The rocks have the nickname "Kirk's Rock" because of a scene in one of the Star Trek - TOS episodes.
We climbed around a lil and had a great view (of the desert) from atop some of the large rocks.
The sun was burning brightly and the temperatures were at their highest while I was there - it amazes me that we didn't get sunburned like at the beach last year!
After that we hit Hollywood Boulevard, the Walk of Fame and Graumann's Chinese Theatre.
Took some pictures, but I didn't like it there: too crowded, too many weird people trying to give you stuff like free CD's (and a black guy calling me racist when I refused to take a CD and even dared to not shake his hand... right, my concern was more like where your hand has been before, buddy!) and what I found to be rather amusing was a group of what seemed to be a group of Korean-Americans who held up signs and shouted "Accept Jesus as your savior!" at the people walking by. There was a guy in a Darth Vader costume next to a stormtrooper and it was a lil disappointing that he didn't use Force Choke on them :-D
While I was there, Vince also drew an awesome character sheet for me which you can find on his FA page and I will upload it later today as well.
Early on Friday morning he gave me a ride back to the airport and I was on an uneventful 4 hour flight to Chicago and MFF.
Chicago's airport really likes to send you on a marathon to get to the baggage claim and the shuttle center thereafter. >.<
All the time I was very nervous and excited to get to the con hotel, where I finally met
neonoae for the first time!
He was waiting for me with his buddy
xids, who's a very nice guy, and we checked into our very comfortable hotel room before venturing out to explore the con.
For most things that happened at MFF, I'm gonna be a lazy bastard and just point you to his journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2932979/
GO READ! ;-P
But I want to mention a few people of whom I thought it was really nice to meet and talk to them.
@
xids
It was cool to hang out with you and I'm very thankful that you gave Noa a ride to and from the con (and to drive us to McDonalds that one night ^.^). And give yourself more credit, man - you're a very good artist!
@
maximus-ursus
Was fun to finally meet you, bro! You're a swell guy to hang out with and I was very sad we didn't have the time to play more Magic with each other! We gotta do that next time!
I'd love to hang out with you a il longer!
@
unstablebill and
noventawolf
LOL! Even though I missed the charity show with Uncle Kage and 2 the Ranting Gryphon because of you guys, I can definitely say that Noa and I had way more fun at your place! XD
You two are totally awesome and I'm very much looking forward to meet you again... hopefully around the time of MFF 2012
UPDATE:
I also want to mention
blueeyedwolf - it was nice seeing you again, even though we didn't talk! Also seeing
bigwolfpaws as well as
tiptoe
And not to forget
spyketyranno - you're fun to chat with! ^.^
That's all I got for now, I'm pretty sure I forgot a few people, but I will add them as soon as I remember or someone reminds me!
Oh, and if you're wondering where the "Depression" in the journal titel comes from:
I was very sad because I had to leave early on Sunday to catch the plane back to Germany.
Some people get Post-Con-Depression after a furry con... I don't.
I suffered from Post-Noa-Depression instead. It was beyond description to finally having spent a weekend with him and parting from it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.
So I welled up quite a few times after leaving for the airport and also silently cried into my pillow that night on the plane - I am not ashamed to admit that.
Because I love my woliger very very much!
And I hope that I'll be able to attend MFF next year again!

Chicago's airport really likes to send you on a marathon to get to the baggage claim and the shuttle center thereafter. >.<
All the time I was very nervous and excited to get to the con hotel, where I finally met
neonoae for the first time!He was waiting for me with his buddy
xids, who's a very nice guy, and we checked into our very comfortable hotel room before venturing out to explore the con.For most things that happened at MFF, I'm gonna be a lazy bastard and just point you to his journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2932979/
GO READ! ;-P
But I want to mention a few people of whom I thought it was really nice to meet and talk to them.
@
xidsIt was cool to hang out with you and I'm very thankful that you gave Noa a ride to and from the con (and to drive us to McDonalds that one night ^.^). And give yourself more credit, man - you're a very good artist!
@
maximus-ursusWas fun to finally meet you, bro! You're a swell guy to hang out with and I was very sad we didn't have the time to play more Magic with each other! We gotta do that next time!
I'd love to hang out with you a il longer!
@
unstablebill and
noventawolfLOL!
Also seeing
bigwolfpaws as well as
tiptoeAnd not to forget
spyketyranno - you're fun to chat with! ^.^That's all I got for now, I'm pretty sure I forgot a few people, but I will add them as soon as I remember or someone reminds me!
Back from US / temporary filler

This tiger's getting old...
Posted 14 years agoA quarter of a century now.
Okay, that sounds awful.
"It's this tiger's 25th birthday" sounds less negative ^.^
