When I came online today, there were 9 new submissions and 23 new journals waiting for me to read, I was like "WTF" for a moment.
(And yes, to me, that's much, because I keep up to date on my unread journals/submissions and I only watch like 250 people, not 5000 like many others out there :-P)
And then it hit me: those must've been about the new FA banner!
Turns out I was right.

I just love the new banner just for that: the effect it has on FA users ^.^
I mean, there are so many people out there who make serious business out of a simple banner in the upper left corner that's gonna stay there for maybe two weeks, one month max and it's not even a bright pink, flashy one that screams in your face.... it's barely noticeable!
But this MLP show has achieved to divide most of the fandom into either groupies or haters. Neutral people (like me) seem to be the exception.
And this new banner is actually funny, because it caters to both sides... it's not really offensive to either side. (Unless you have a very big stick up your bum, of course.)

Well, three days ago, on August 12th,  neonoae and I had kind of an anniversary: on that day last year I posted "Lust & Passion" (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4302532/) on FA and well... you know how things developed after that, even though we weren't officially together yet back then ^.^

This year, my lovely hybrid surprised me with the pic "Love and Happiness" (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6307700/), which in my eyes is the logical continuation of Lust & Passion :-3

Yeah, our real anniversary is coming closer and looking back on that past year I can honestly say I don't regret anything.
When we agreed to start a long-distance relationship we both knew it would be difficult and tough at times, but thanks to modern technologies internet and webcams, it was bearable.
We just fit and make each other happy, even other people noted that.

So I am more than happy to announce that people will finally be able to experience both of us in person at the same time, because I'm going to MFF in November this year and so is Noa. We will both meet for the first time and are very excited about it. ^.^
(In fact, I wish it would be November already... it's not like I'm missing out on any summer weather x.x)
And while we of course want to enjoy each other as much as possible while there, of course it would also be nice to meet some of you other great furs out there

So far on the personal news, now to business:
I am aware that it has been months since the second chapter of the Singari Civil War.
Yes, progress is slow, but I have not forgotten about or abandoned it. The translation of chapter 3 is almost completed and will soon be uploaded, translation work on chapter 4 will start immediately after that.
Don't worry to all you readers, Turi's adventure will continue. ;-D

Actually, when I first found out about the Furry Fandom, I started as a wolf because they have always fascinated me, but when I became more active in the fandom, I switched to tiger.

Well, the first thing that hit me when I visited FA this morning was the surprisingly high number of journals about Osama Bin Laden's death.
Something I would not have expected on a furry website.

While I understand that many people celebrate his death now - another "face of evil" gone now, after all -
I do wonder if people truly understand that this doesn't mean that something's going to change now.
Al-Qaeda is a decentralized organisation. Bin Laden's death won't put an end to any plots they are scheming or executing right now.
It probably won't break them up either. They now have a martyr that died for their cause and might inspire others to continue fighting.

Ahhh, there are so many "Happy New Year" journals out there, I felt obliged to write one too ;-D

For me, 2010 was a good year. Every year has its positives and negatives, but I feel like 2010 was way nicer to me than 2009 was.
Special mention goes to  codyvfrost for being a good friend and a great host during my trip to California last summer.

And of course the most unforgettable thing happened about a month later when I found the big L.
The trip to California holds second position, the first prize goes to  neonoae - you are the best thing that happened to me in 2010, sweetie! Here's to many many more wonderful years together! <3
