Meet ideas for April?
Posted 9 years agoPretty much I've got nothing, life has been all over the place for me and I haven't been active in the fandom because of it. There are two cons in May that just about everyone local will be going to, so not worried about May. So, ideas for the Tri Cities area?

RadCon Day 2
Posted 9 years agoFor those at the con who missed the Furries in PNW panel yesterday you can still get a wristband. Just have to track me down while at the con. Shouldn't be too hard really, any local furry will know how to get in contact. Another thing, if you want to help out with CBFC, which we are in need of volunteers, there is a panel tomorrow, 2/14/2016, at 10am called Behind the Scenes-Convention Running in room 2201, please be there. We will get back into the habit of monthly fur meets, just been busy and haven't really been able to plan one lately.

Columbia Basin Fur Con Update
Posted 10 years agoWho all saw the map in the RF art show room? We were drawn in as a new Fiefdom, near the Ruins of FurIdaho. Which was really cool. They sold it at a charity auction, so it was only in the art room until midday on Saturday. We are still on schedule for 2017. Just with the con being so far out, we aren't posting daily updates on what all we have done.
Most of what has been done so far, has just been marketing. Our team has been at three cons in the last five months getting the word out about our con. It's a hard sell, not just with the location but it being a new con and set in 2017. So it has been a lot of us trying to build the hype up. Between Gene, the RainFurrest staff, the Furlandia staff and the staff at BLFC we have received a lot of support. Not to mention advice, every do and don't I hear gets filed away for future reference.
So while I have been quiet about it, we have been working on getting things lined up. We are still on schedule and our reg system will go up around April of 2016 for Pre Reg. We do need volunteers for Ops, Theater and other places. Previous con experience desired, just so department heads can relax a little bit. You can check the website for desired skills in all our positions.
As for the location, we are pretty much settled on it. The next board meeting will nail that down and we shall get set on the contract part of things. Which then means an exact date, so we can start getting all of that worked out. So then those wishing to attend will know and can plan things out. Dealers will be able to work it into their schedules, same with our Guests of Honor.
In other words, we are just about to the part where it becomes full speed ahead. This isn't just talk, we are doing everything we can to make it a reality. Please bare with us while we work everything out, trust me, it will be worth it. All the time spent learning from other cons, is well spent. Hope to see you all there.

TC Shooting/Movie hangout
Posted 10 years agoSaturday there will be a shooting, as in guns, and movie hangout. I don't know where, or what time.
is the one setting it up, so if interested let him know. I didn't plan on doing a meet this month since there were cons going on and most of us would be attending those. I'll have meet information for next month posted shortly, if you want to do the shooting thing, again, contact *points at the above icon* I wont be there, I didn't plan it, I will be at work that day. So send inquiries that way, thank you.

CBFC wristbands
Posted 10 years agoOut of the 50 I brought with me to BLFC I handed out 53. The ones I was wearing when I got here have been handed out as well as one of Eilie's. Lutra will be taking a bunch to Camp Fire Tails and Lucky, Eilie and Uber will be covering FurLandia. So if you want a wristband you need to get to one of those cons. I will be doing a reorder before RainFurrest and may get two new colors for that batch.
As far as the marketing campaign for next year goes I want to get our ad in as many con books as possible. Really hype the hell out of CBFC and try to fill the hotel with as many furries as possible.

BLFC 2015
Posted 10 years agoI will be handing out CBFC wristbands at BLFC. For locals who want one, my suggestion is to snag one today if you can. I'm only bringing a limited number to the con with me. For those going to FurLandia, CBFC has a full page ad in the con book. Same deal though, if you're going to FurLandia and want a wristband your best bet is to get it today or the Wednesday after BLFC, the 20th of May. Since Monday and Tuesday I am busy. The best thing everyone can do, since I get asked often what people can do to help out CBFC, is to tell people about it. Hand out business cards, tell people to come.
We are on track for it to launch on time. Only thing I have to do is to lock down the weekend I have in mind for CBFC. So don't think it is a possibility, or an idea. This thing is going to happen. I am getting a lot, and I do mean a lot, of help from Gene Armstrong, RF and FurLandia staff.

Columbia Basin Fur Con
Posted 10 years agoOur group is in the process of starting a Fur Con. With help from Gene, the dragon behind RainFurrest and some other people with con experience. We are going to make this a reality, no matter what. The website is already up www.columbiabasinfurcon.com and our Twitter account (at) columbiabasinFC regularly posts updates as does our Facebook page. So if you want to help there is plenty of time, our con is set for 2017 and there is a lot to work out still.
The big thing right now is marketing. Both the Twitter and FB have less than 100 followers. So please spread the word around, this event wont survive if we cant get attendees to reg and show up. Registration will open next year, hotel information will be listed a year in advance as well, if not sooner.
I will be handing out business cards, that have all our info on the back, at every event I can manage to get these things to. Not just furry related, furries are like sleeper cells, we are everywhere. Wristbands are another thing I will be handing out, but exclusively at BLFC. So if you want one outside of that you will have to buy one. T-shirts, we will only be giving out a small number of them, otherwise you have to buy one.
Think that about covers everything that is public at this time. Ideas are always appreciated, so if you have a suggestion or thought please share it. Also,

Con status
Posted 10 years agoSo I submitted the application to form the corporation yesterday. A few hours later I received the acceptance email. As of 4:00 PM yesterday we are on the road to making this a reality. The Board has already been chosen. The first Board meeting will take place soon. All we need know business wise is a Employer ID number and a Business License.
Volunteers, we will be seeking volunteers in the months to come. Since the date of the con is set for 2017 we aren't in a rush to staff this event right now. We have to price it all out and raise the capital needed. Anyone who wishes to volunteer, well I thank you for your dedication and the time you are willing to give up and the energy you will expend. I will point you eager individuals towards our volunteer coordinators when we are ready for you to do your thing.
Couple links here, one is to a survey I put together. The other is a FB page. The website will be up next month.

Tri Cities Furmeet 3/15/15
Posted 10 years agoWe will be meeting at 1PM at Columbia Park Trail, at the Edison Street boat launch. Should it be a rainless day, in the event of rain we shall instead meet at the Shari's on Columbia Center. In the event of no rain, we shall hang out in the park and then head over for food after.
Plans for starting our own con
Posted 10 years agoPlans are in the works for a Tri City Fur Con. The Spokane group struggled and just hasn't managed to get it going in the right direction. So I took it on myself to see if this is something we could even pull off here. So, who all would attend if we held it in Pasco or Kennewick? Who is up for wanting to help staff? Most importantly, who is up for helping to fund the thing? It won't be cheap by any means, and while I have no problem paying for most of it, I just cant see myself paying for all of it.
We will have a meeting here in our local area to talk about all of this. It will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at our place around noon. What I like as far as the con name goes, Columbia Basin Fur Con. But we can talk about other ideas at the meeting. Nothing will be set in stone until it is determined that this is something viable. This is just an open discussion at this time.

Meet for 1/25/15
Posted 11 years agoIce Skating at the Toyota Arena in Kennewick. 3pm to 5pm, the cost is $6 per person plus $2 for skate rental. Be sure to spread the word, so that everyone knows about the event. Dinner at Shari's to follow at 5:30, unless anyone has a better suggestion for a place to eat. I work Sunday, but should be off in time for dinner.

Meet ideas for January
Posted 11 years agoLooking for ideas on something to do. So if you think of something, post it below and we can set up a time and date. Winter is harder for me to plan for, since the only indoor activity I can think of is bowling. We can do bowling, that's fine. But I just want some input every now and then. Maybe we could plan a day trip somewhere, or something.
Another thing, once summer rolls around we will be planning two camping trips. We talk about camping quite often so it is actually going to happen.
Last note here, RF is still a fair way off but I want to remind everyone that the earlier you get on top of things, travel, rooming, and reg, the better off you will be in the long run. We are working out something better for the group photo, something weather proof yet accommodating enough to fit us all. Plus deal with the issue of time, since panels, and events seem to conflict with getting everyone to the photo as well.
That's all I have for now, post comments below and someone will get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks for your time and participation.

Halloween Party
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone. Wulf here, wanting to discuss the Halloween party. So like it was said, Halloween night at Nao's house, the 31st, about 6:00pm is a good time to come on over. There should be a main food but it would definitely be awesome if people could bring their own thing. Someone can bring cookies, someone bring chips or something maybe, etc. Now, for activities and things. If anyone has Cards Against Humanity, feel free to bring them. Lol. We can do other stuff as well, can have card games and other things, whatever you guys would like to do. I'll look at music and things, have something good set up. You guys can try to wear some cool costumes, or your fursuits if you got one. I'm hoping to have my fursuit for the halloween party so you guys that make it there may get one the first looks at him in person. :3 So, yeah. Hope everyone can make it. If you got any questions feel free to ask. Thanks
November meets
Posted 11 years agoGreetings all, Bloode will be posting additional information for the Halloween party shortly. Figured I would jump in and get things rolling for next month. Cold is setting in, yeah I know, cold is bad, because furries belong out in nature. But alas, that is coming to an end. Which means, default indoor activities. Like *holds up a bowling ball*
So Nob Hill, for those Yakima dwelling fuzz butts. Second Saturday of the month, 1pm.
For those of us in the Tri City area, Spare Time lanes, third Saturday of the month, 1pm.
Shall I be so bold as to say those of us in the Pullman/Moscow area? What about Portland? Anyone from those regions present? Anyone from an area not listed let me know in the comments so I can work on getting regular meets planned. We are expanding our territory to Portland and Pullman.
Spokane is in an odd place as far as leadership goes. Not sure what the underlying issues are, now isn't the time for politics. So to our friends up that way I say, I hope things get on track and meet attendance gets back where it was. Because our fandom, our community, is about bringing us together, not tearing us apart. It would be a shame to lose that.
Also, posters, money has been tight so I will finally, finally, be getting that situation worked out within a month. So not only will they be printed properly, but I will be getting more than just two printed. Will let you know the price per poster once I get around to doing that.
Think that covers everything, questions or comments, post them below or message me

Atomic Con/Rave
Posted 11 years agoBecause it needs to be a thing, alright so *points at someone* You find the location, make it good because a Rave in a cramped basement is lame. Actually I could come up with a place, but it would be in Sunnyside and that is a bit of a trek to be honest. Especially given that the event will go late. Other suggestions?

Halloween party?
Posted 11 years agoHi everyone, it's Bloodewulf. I've had an idea about having a party on Halloween, and I want to know what you all think, about it and if anyone would wanna attend. My idea is to have a party at Nao's house (with his permission :P ) and there'd be food, music, and ya. People can dress up in costumes, or fursuits, or maybe both. Would you guys be interested in something like this? People can bring appetizers and things maybe, or whatever works best. Anyway... give me your thoughts :3 thanks

Rainfurrest 2014 time is ticking down
Posted 11 years agoIf you're going, quit procrastinating, get your rooming situation figured out now. Don't ask me, our room has been full for months and that isn't changing. So get your room figured out, get your ride up sorted out. Once again, our car is full already. Registration should be paid by the end of next month, I believe that is when they quit doing the online, discount rate. So save yourself some time and money and get it done ASAP.
As far as the group photo goes, same location as last year. Right out front of the Con center, which is down the Hanger, passed where the piano is and all those round tables. So right out there, in front of the big sign. We will do the photo on Friday, instead of Saturday. You only have the one chance to be in it, so once the time is established make sure everyone knows what the time is, and that they need to be there. Seattle weather is on the cold side, and we all have plans, plus controlling a group of our size is a challenge so the faster we can get out there and get it done, the better.
That's pretty much it really, get as much prep done now as you can because it sucks not having a ride or a room. Behavior never really seems to be an issue with our group. None of us drop acid and try to crash otter parties by scaling fences, only to have that high as can be individual slip and break their face. Hygiene, don't forget to shower, this will be stated at the con at the opening ceremony. If you skip a shower, we will know, we always know. Be sure to sleep, if you start tripping balls due to sleep deprivation things wont be as fun for you.
Also, don't scare the Mundanes, they do not understand our ways and will be strangers in our strange land. So be courteous to them. Do not give the fandom more of a bad name than we already have *coughs* CSI *coughs* Best paw forward, have fun, make sure you have your permission slips signed, board the bus single file and listen to the councilors at camp. Jokes aside, see you all there.

RainFurrest 2014
Posted 11 years agoIf you're needing a ride or looking for a room, you are running out of time. If you wait until the last minute you run the risk of sleeping under a bridge or not going at all. So make sure you take care of both of those, plus your reg. You save yourself a little money by doing pre reg, plus you get through the line a little faster. So be sure you get on that or you wont have that fun con experience.

Bunny con 2014 planning
Posted 11 years agoSo Gyro and I have talked some and it is time that we get to this. Which park should we hold this event at? The Tri Cities area has a good number of parks, Howard Amon is a nice park but it tends to fill up fast during the nice days that we have. Anyone know of a park that is nice, and doesn't get too crowded? Always nice when we can do our thing and not hit random people with a frisbee. This event is set for the last Saturday of May and is a potluck style event. We just need a good location to finish up the planning so local fuzzies give us a little help so we can get right into enjoying our meet.
