Future Meet Planning
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone. Bloode Wulf here. I want to talk to you guys, get a conversation going here. I have some ideas I want to throw out there, and get your opinions on them, to plan for future meets. I also would like some ideas if anyone has good ideas about what we as a group can do. So my ideas are... 1) We meet up on a good day and hike Mt Badger, maybe enjoy the view up top etc lol. 2) If enough people are willing, we could buy dart guns, water guns, airsoft, paintball guns, etc, and play some games where we'd be allowed to, park or field somewhere. If we get the space to play, we could play a humans vs zombies game, free for all, etc. or any other ideas of games you guys might have. 4) We could on some nice day, go to a park or somewhere and have a picnic or a barbecue. We can play games like ultimate frisbee or soccer or something also, during that meet 5) We can go to Spare lanes for bowling, or maybe go play laser tag if there's still a place we could go to, or go to Get Air, the trampoline park in Kennewick.
Now, if anyone has any other ideas, feel free to comment below. I'd like to hear what people think about those above ideas or any good ideas for meets. I would like to know what people would enjoy doing, so we can hopefully get some more really enjoyable meets going and have more fun together as a group. Thanks :)

Kennewick 5/26/14 meet
Posted 11 years agoSame place as last time, Howard Amon park, 2pm. Not sure how long we will stick around so be sure to be on time in case the group migrates to find food. Bloode is working on planning another meet so keep an eye out for when he posts that.
Furmeet for April 12th
Posted 11 years agoWe are meeting at Howard Amon park in Richland located at 900 Amon Park Drive, Richland. Meeting near the tennis courts, note, near not at just in case people decide to play tennis that day. We will be in that area of the park though. Dress furry casual, so leave suits and ties at home. Badges, fursuits, tails, ears and the like are allowed, we are furries after all. Please note this is a meet in a public setting so do try and behave accordingly, I know I shouldn't have to say that but sadly I do. If everyone could help spread the word around that would be great.
As for the time we are starting at 14:00 promptly. Which of course means show up around that time, no one can say for sure how long the meet will last so if you show up at 18:00 and no one is there you cant really complain much. So there is the date, time, and place. The rest is up to you good folks to tell everyone who doesn't read these that there is a meet going on. Staff and general meeting
Posted 12 years agoSo since a new member has been added to our staff, and since we haven't had a meeting in a while we will be doing so. Nao has some things he wishes to address, mostly having to do with the website and getting general feedback from people. I know Draco mentioned using Meetup, but that is not a free service and there is no way to know for sure that it will help any. TC and Nao have a point, checking the website or skimming through journals on here is not the hardest thing in the world to do. So what do we do as staff to get members to be more active in that? The date of the meeting will be posted publicly and all are welcome to show up. We can do dinner afterwards as a group and it will give everyone a chance to share their thoughts to hopefully help the group survive. One last thing, Nao stepped back and is having Bloode plan local events from now on. He will be granted Mod permissions on the site as well as access here. Nao will be doing general things from this point on as well as assisting other branches of our group plan meets. Quick question from us staff members, how many people read these? Post a comment below so we can get a head count. When was the last time you used the site? How do you find out about meets?
Expanding our turf
Posted 12 years agoAs it stands our solidly controlled territory extends from Tri Town, up to Spokane, down into Oregon to the Hermiston area I believe, and over to Yakima. Portland Furries, you're now able to join our collective. We are Atomic Furs, your cultural and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile. Jokes aside, Portland is our new territory and any fur who wishes to defect from the leadership there to join us is more than welcome to do so. If there is enough interest I will add Portland to our Forum on the site and meets can be planned there. No drama, I am tired of drama, so please check that at the door, thank you very much.
I would like to keep our coverage zone along the lines of three hour travel time or shorter. Originally Atomic Furs was very much just for our little neck of the woods. Three hours seems ideal at this point, travel isn't too cumbersome and a back and forth trip in a day is doable. Not saying you have to go back that day, just that the option is there. Should we expand into Idaho? Not really sure where all we should expand to other than Portland. Feed back, the more you give the better off our group will be. Also if you know furries in Idaho, like right across the border, maybe Coeur D'Alene or Boise, get some input for me.
Not so much about having the largest group as it is about giving space to those who wish to plan meets and maybe see what our areas are up to as well. It's all about options, as well as giving people a place to look for meets that are near enough to them for regular attendance to be possible. Building bridges is the goal, not throwing up walls and telling people to keep out. Like I said, input is welcome on this subject. Another thing I'm hoping to do, since I have a job again, yay there, is to get our poster reprinted properly. Still owe Leetah the poster sized version for her contributions. I may also hand some out as well. Think that covers everything.

Kennewick meet schedule change and news
Posted 12 years agoJanuary 19th is the new date for this meet. The time is the same, starting at 1pm. The change is due to it falling on the same day as WFS, an event I barely keep track of, yeah I don't at all. Cant blame me on that one, I work full time, and I am writing a lot more.

Posted 12 years agoYeah it is kind of last minute, popcorn and movies at our place. Starting at noon and going until whenever. Sunday isn't the best day, but with my schedule it is really the only one that works for me. If you need to know how to get here message me at 
and I will get you that information, as long as I have met you before. No offense, just not wanting strange people showing up at my house, since it's where I live. Typically we do public meets, out in public places but it is freeze your balls cold out and with the holidays behind us, we're all broke, or even more so. So a cheap and easy meet is the best route to go this month. So if you want to come over and join the fun bring some popcorn and come on over.
Movies will be selected as a group, we have access to a ton of movies so we're covered there. Next month's meet will be more organized and have more advanced warning. That is all, thanks.

Kennewick furmeet for October
Posted 12 years agoWe will be meeting at Spare Time Lanes at 1pm on Sunday October 20th. So make note of that, this is all a bit last minute. Next month the meet for Tri Cities will be the 30th, so right at the very end of the month. Go to the forum on our website to throw out some ideas for what we can do for that meet. For Yakima, Nob Hill bowling alley on the 16th of November. So if Yakima furs could get the word spread around on that I would appreciate it a lot.
Any other areas wanting to have meets? Pullman will probably be added to our collective and we can work on getting meets planned for that area. Since there are a few furries in the Moscow/Pullman area.

August meets
Posted 12 years agoDraco has posted information for meets they have going on up in Spokane. For us here in the Tri-Cities area we are meeting at Columbia trail park, at the Edison Street boat launch, Sunday the 25th at 2PM. If you have any questions post them on the forum at the AF site or direct them to my personal FA account. Or you can text me, for those who have my cell number. Also registration for RF closes on the 22nd I believe, after that you cant register online and will have to do so at the door for an additional 10 dollars, so do your registration now. For those who will be going to next year's for sure, register for next year at the Con on the last day to save yourself an additional 10 dollars. Alright, that covers everything I have to say. Hope to see everyone at the coming meet and at our local Con.

This year will have an even larger turnout than last year did. I apologize for not organizing a meet for last month. Posted 12 years agoBetween the time Tully called to check availability and the time he went in to book a gazebo they all booked up. So we are going to be switching parks to Columbia Point Marine Park instead. Don't forget to RSVP so we can get a good headcount before hand. So far we have 9 people who said they will be there. Which is 21 shy of our goal for this meet. So spread the word, let everyone know, and make sure they go to the AF site and RSVP.

Our plan is for the 18th, exact location in the park is still being decided as well as time. I am re-posting over from the post i made in the forums about the plans.
ok so.. throwing this out there. i will list some basic things that we will need people to volunteer to bring. we wont be able to pull it off without everybody's help. :) please keep in mind our goal for this meet is 30 participants! :D

assorted chips
cups/plates/plastic-ware/napkins

maybe some desserts or other snack foods
condiments
and please feel free to bring your own creations as well. if you can leave a comment with what you plan to bring so we can prepare accordingly.

April Meet
Posted 12 years agoAlright, so for us Tri Cities area furries we have a meet planned for this month. Having a meet on the 27th. Starting at 2pm, Columbia Trail Park Edison Street boat launch. Those wishing to see a movie should contact Inu and get the movie and time sorted out. After the park we shall migrate in the search of food. March meet
Posted 12 years agoAlright fuzzies, we are having our March meet this coming Saturday, the 30th at 3PM. We are meeting at the Edison street boat launch at the Columbia Trail Park. The forecast isn't calling for rain, dress for the season though. Be ready for extreme wind just in case we get hit with it. We will hang out at the park and decide on where to do our dinner at. If you have my number, text me for details. If you don't have my cell number message me to get it. I check my FA daily, I check this one pretty regularly and I try to sign onto my messengers daily as well. So lots of ways to get in touch with me to get it. Or ask another furry that has it and get it from them. That way if you are running late you can find out if we are at the park still or heading to the dinner.
While at the meet feel free to suggest ideas for future meets. We have been doing more gaming meets as of late. Minecraft has been the big one so far. There is talk of doing D&D, and board game kind of things. Hope to see you all at the meet.

Posted 12 years agoBack fully now. Leetah made a neat little avatar for our FA page. I am still having issues uploading it. Has to do with the outdated technology this site is using to run probably. I wouldn't be surprised if the server was a commodore duct taped to a toaster and an old television set from the 70's. With how much it is down. Anyway, I shall focus now. Thanks Leetah, you do a lot and I appreciate it a lot.
Posters, I shall be getting them reprinted so they look right. I will be doing a test print for the 8x11 size. RainFurrest will have lots of them posted all over the Convention Center. T-shirts, will be handed out one dollar above the cost per unit. Once we get a design in for the back.
There is also talk of doing a nude calendar. Featuring all of your favorite AF members, literally. *nods* Oh yeah. Joking aside we have a BBQ meet coming up later this month. Risky I know, which way will the weather go. Worst comes to worst we stay indoors and do outside stuff next month, another gamble. Am I the only one wanting to get back outside? I really, really, really want to be outside again. So the Cities Three will wait on weather to determine outside or not. Plan on early afternoon for the 30th. Around 2-3 until the usual time we all decide to call it good.

Posters, I shall be getting them reprinted so they look right. I will be doing a test print for the 8x11 size. RainFurrest will have lots of them posted all over the Convention Center. T-shirts, will be handed out one dollar above the cost per unit. Once we get a design in for the back.
There is also talk of doing a nude calendar. Featuring all of your favorite AF members, literally. *nods* Oh yeah. Joking aside we have a BBQ meet coming up later this month. Risky I know, which way will the weather go. Worst comes to worst we stay indoors and do outside stuff next month, another gamble. Am I the only one wanting to get back outside? I really, really, really want to be outside again. So the Cities Three will wait on weather to determine outside or not. Plan on early afternoon for the 30th. Around 2-3 until the usual time we all decide to call it good.

Sorry for being MIA
Posted 12 years agoTis the Nao, sorry for being MIA for the past 3 weeks or so. I am back everyone. We are in the process of getting a lunch meet planned for this month. Tri Cities fuzzies, does Olive Garden sound good to everyone? Their soup, salad, and bread sticks deal is pretty reasonable. Uber, what is going on for Yakima?

Posted 13 years agoLeetah, winner by default, reigning champion of the 60+ day poster design challenge of 2012. Daemon, or Inu as I call him, submitted two sketches. Both of which I shall be uploading here shortly. Going to push for him to finish them out and submit them later on for something else.
On to prizes, fabulous prizes await. One of which is an 18x24 print to be personally handed to our winner. Here's hoping it turns out right *crosses fingers* It will look great, frame that and hang it over your fire place. Part two of said prize shall be payment for services rendered. The E-check will be in the digital mail here soon.
Last bit of business before I bring this to a close. T-shirt designs, the month of February is all about T-shirts. We have our mascots picked out. So just the hard part remains, coming up with something cool to throw on the back of a shirt. Our big themes include science, ranging from nuclear energy to atomic particles. Or something kind of desert related. If you can take the two themes and bring them together, awesome. You can play with just something science related, or just desert related. Last day of February they are all due. You may start them now, and you may turn them in early. But they must be in before March begins. So 11:59PM on February 28th is the last minute, after that you are late, shame shame for being late. Late submissions will be taken, just let me know ahead of time.

Poster due
Posted 13 years agoPoster designs are due on Saturday, must be email submitted to nao_shadowpaws[at]yahoo.com so they can be uploaded here and voting on them can begin. The winner, or winners will be printed out and shall serve as promotional tools or member wall hangings. To the artist who draws the winning design, or artists should there be a tie, they will receive a prize that our staff will determine shortly. I feel bad for having a contest with no real prize, so there will be a prize for this. With four days left, someone could start and finish a design in that time if they hustle. The prize will be announced next week, and another contest for T-shirt designs will begin. Details on that to be released next week.

Activities to follow dinner to be decided upon at a later time and will be announced at the meet. You have to RSVP if you are attending this meet. Red Robin does NOT take reservations and a staff member will need to go in a little before to inform them how many are showing up to ease the wait time once everyone arrives. Meeting
Posted 13 years agoDuring the meeting, Tully, TC, and myself, the Nao, went over well over a hundred topics. We talked about the past and the future of Atomic Furs. A space program, and securing a majority in the Senate. Yes, even the Presidency. Joking aside we focused on rules, regulations, and disciplinary actions. The way it stands as of right now, if you are kicked out of the group online, you shouldn't expect to remain in the group offline. Your actions on and offline can and will, get you kicked out.
We talked about a strike system, three strikes and your out. We settled on something kind of like that. So if you do something major, you are gone regardless of what you did or didn't do before. Tully will be getting some rules posted on the website soon. We haven't had enough issues yet to talk about banning someone, but things need to be in place so if it happens we have a format to follow.
Atomic Con, will be a day long event that will be held in early to mid April. It will be in a park, which one has yet to be determined. Probably one here in the Tri-Cities since we are kind of centralized for our area. It will be potluck style, fursuiting is welcome, artists can show up and draw. Really laid back and relaxed.
Staff changes are as follows. Gyro is now a Moderator, Lutra is a Moderator.
We decided together that we put out the information in enough ways and usually with enough time in advance that, we really shouldn't have to constantly say there is a meet going on. We put it out through Twitter, FA, and the AF site as well as in text message form in some cases. So there is plenty of time and opportunity for everyone to know what is going on. More or less, it is your responsibility to check and see what is going on, at what time, and where.
