Since i happened to have been interested in him and hitting on him before this anyways I've gladly taken him up on this offer. Its so great to have someone again let alone someone so loving and adorable (hes gonna kill me for that X3) Anyways, Just thought i would make a cute journal to gloat cause I'm so freaking happy right now ^^ *snuggle huggles* ^^

This year's plans
General | Posted 14 years agoSo guys let me lay out my thoughts and plans this year for cons and other things.
As you all know i have a nice job now and am able to afford things a a little more readily. Because of this, my #1 priority is to save up for a suit commission this year and hopefully have enough by nov-dec.
I'm I've reassessed my con schedule.
I've decided to cancel plans for Oklacon out right. I've been disappointed with that con the last 2 years I've gone and don't see a point in trying to fight for time of in one of the busiest times at work.
I've also decided I might cancel Wild Nights (I don't want to but I can only do one in April) in favor of going to FCN again. This is not a for sure thing and is still only something I'm considering. For this to happen I would have to find a ballin good price for plane tickets and also a VERY cheap hotel room spot.
I'll be attending Anthrocon for the first time this year, It will be part of a two part trip to Pennsylvania.
Part one, go to AC Wednesday to Monday. Part two travel to Philly and visit my Grandma (my father passed away last month, and It will be nice to see his family)
For the final con of the year I'm going to try and pull off MFF Its too far out to know how it will work out yet. the good news is its in a dead time at work, I'd only be missing 2 days of work if I go Wed to Mon.
Now your all up to date on my plans, If you have rooms or travel (rides to and from airports ect) you can help with, Please let me know ^^

My father died suddenly today with no warning at age 56. just dropped dead. I got the phone call from my mom as I walked in the door from work... Thank you all for the well wishes I've allready recieved, without such awesome friends i don't know what i would do.

My last paycheck of the season should be enough to cover all my bills through jan and pay for Furry fiesta. So if i get any cash for Christmas like i usually do It would go towards this... Or the beginnings of saving for a fursuit.

Also finally got Harness trained at work this past Friday and went up on my spot tower for the first times sat and Sunday. going to have a trial by fire this Sunday because one of the only 2 people on the team (other then me and the other newbie) had a death in the family and wont be there. The other one is running a camera so its us newbies running the show Sunday D: Wish me luck!
Also if any of you guys (meaning people i know well offline) want to ever go visit Seaworld let me know I have some discount tickets :)

Oklacon 2011 Con report

Wednesday,
Me and Christoper left on Amtrak early in the morning on our way up to Dallas to meet with Draklor, trip was uneventful except that i later found out that Ebony Tigress was on the same train (lol)
Anyways we got picked up and taken to Draklors house in McKinney where we crashed for the night.
Thursday,
After a late start we were finally underway around noon, again the trip was uneventful and we arived at the con around 5pm.
Once we got all our stuff unloaded me and Chris went to go check in at reg, all went fine for me but chris didnt know he couldnt use his school ID. Thank the gods Blue Otter helped him out and we just had to go get some stuff faxed from town so he could reg in the morning. I spent most of Thursday just hanging around and meeting people then i went and played werewolf for awhile.
Friday,
got up fairly early and hung around until i met up with Wolf and Jared Fox and offered to help with A/V since i had worked with Draconis and Rhubarb before and Togo wasn't there and I knew his rig from TFF (mostly). I spent about 2 hours helping before opening ceremonies then went back after with
kodiwolfe to finish set up.
All went fairly well we got everything set up, I put in some extra cables I brought and an extra mic and then headed back to camp until the dances. Hung around and Bs'ed with several friends i hadn't seen in a long time then headed back to the dances. Togo arrived and checked things over and we discovered that part of his crossover died and we both worked on how to bypass the dead section, with that fixed we did sound check got the lights finished (I really just watched at this point) and then opened the doors for the dances to begin.
Jared fox was up first and he ripped up the decks, it was one of the best dances ive ever seen, and it turns out it was a good thing I brought the extra mic and cables because everything I brought got used, next up was Wolf with some tunes that were also pretty awesome but he cranked it so loud I got a headache and left for the night, right about then
kyofoxtrot showed up so we hung out for awhile and I hitched a ride back to camp with him and then went to go play some werewolf. After that I bumped into 
zephyrpanthur and Daxter and stayed up till suuuper late hanging out with them.
Saturday,
Woke up and walked around at random hanging with
corsi and friends around the campfire for awhile until I was able to get a ride to the lodge so i could see how the setup for Julie bunny was going. Hung out with Kodi while he got ready for the show, It went great and i cant wait to see them again! Next up was the variety show. Again my mic got used and many lolz were had. It was bye far the highlight of the con for me, I must thank corsi kodiwolfe and Draconis for all that they did. Wouldn't have been the same without any of you <3
Now we come to the part where I talk about why I will not be djing at Oklacon again and potentially will not help with a/v again.
I was not thanked once for the help I provieded with Julie Bunny or the Variety show (aside from by Draconis and Ruhbarb) nor was I thanked for setting up the audio gear or for the gear I provided. To add insult to injury I was asked to DJ Saturday night only to have somone take over my set without a word 5 mins in.
Here's how that went,
Right after the variety show I talked with Jared fox and he said I was going to have a 30 min slot right after Horses Ghost and I was happy because for a second I thought I would get to play something other then the same damned music that everyone else was. Of course before that though even finished Wolf comes by and tells be that they don't want any of the "Techno trance bullshit" and that it needs to be basically top 40 club music. Anyways, HG went and did his set and then it came to my turn on the decks, I got through 2 songs and called for requests, I got one that was for a slower song and played it knowing it was about time that some of the suiters would want to cool off after dancing for like 70 mins, I also got a request for a "disco song" because Matsi wanted to have a disco duel with Ruhbarb. So i got that cued up while Jared was chewing on my ear about people leaving, I explained that they proably wanted to cool off and he went back to danceing, i cued up another harder song since he was complaining and pushed back Matsi's request then he came back and said Wolf wants to talk to me. So I go over and wolf says "Ive been hearing that you aren't playing what people want and aren't listening to people" I ask him what hes talking about and he sites an example of me playing music before the dances when he came over and told me he doesn't what that type of shit played because it might scare away the dancers (it was jump style) The thing is i Changed it to something else the minute he said that. When i explained that to him he said that I "screwed up my face at him when he said it" And i said of course i did but i still did what you asked. At this point i turned around because the track changed and saw that Jared had taken over my set without a word to me. So I picked up my stuff packed it up and left.
I do not fault Jared Fox for This. I feel that it was presure from higher up that got to him. I would like to think he would not pull this kind of thing without said presure since I enjoyed working with him so much.
Anyways enough of the Drama.
I had a freaking blast at the con this year, I feel that Oklacon greatly improved from last year. Security was how they should be and I had lots of fun at werewolf and helping rubarb with Julie Bunny as well as the amazing Variety show and seeing so many awesome friends again.

Me and Christoper left on Amtrak early in the morning on our way up to Dallas to meet with Draklor, trip was uneventful except that i later found out that Ebony Tigress was on the same train (lol)
Anyways we got picked up and taken to Draklors house in McKinney where we crashed for the night.
Thursday,
After a late start we were finally underway around noon, again the trip was uneventful and we arived at the con around 5pm.
Once we got all our stuff unloaded me and Chris went to go check in at reg, all went fine for me but chris didnt know he couldnt use his school ID. Thank the gods Blue Otter helped him out and we just had to go get some stuff faxed from town so he could reg in the morning. I spent most of Thursday just hanging around and meeting people then i went and played werewolf for awhile.
Friday,
got up fairly early and hung around until i met up with Wolf and Jared Fox and offered to help with A/V since i had worked with Draconis and Rhubarb before and Togo wasn't there and I knew his rig from TFF (mostly). I spent about 2 hours helping before opening ceremonies then went back after with
kodiwolfe to finish set up. All went fairly well we got everything set up, I put in some extra cables I brought and an extra mic and then headed back to camp until the dances. Hung around and Bs'ed with several friends i hadn't seen in a long time then headed back to the dances. Togo arrived and checked things over and we discovered that part of his crossover died and we both worked on how to bypass the dead section, with that fixed we did sound check got the lights finished (I really just watched at this point) and then opened the doors for the dances to begin.

One of those moments that make your jaw drop
General | Posted 14 years agoSo today i was at the train museum working on the model trains like many other days, there was 2 years where i hadn't been there but before that i had been an active member of this club for about 7 years, now its been almost 9. Now ive known this kid in the club since he and his dad joined in 2005 (hes about the same age as me maybe a year or 2 younger), he was there all day on Saturdays and Sundays just like me ever since, even after i left. Now today we were talking, i was talking about some of the conventions ive worked at and stuff in the last 2 years and he asks me what kind of conventions. I respond with the usual "anthropomorphics" response and he looks at me funny for a second and asks, "a furry convention?" i say yes and he asks me "so your a furry?" i nod "well that's interesting.... I kind of am too"]
So yeah, wasn't expecting that in a million years but kind of cool for sure! Now i just need to find out what his fur name is because i was so surprised i forgot to ask XD

An update!
General | Posted 14 years agoToday was my second interview for another job in the entertainment industry, Since i lost my job at six flags 3 weeks ago i had been trying to find one and this one called me in for my first interview the day after my last at six flags. I think that my second interview today went well but im up against several people for the spot so its anybody's guess if ill get it.
The good news is even if i don't get it I have several things to look forward to.
1. My folks have decided to pay for me to go to Oklacon next month!
2. My folks want to try and get me into a college by their house for some courses in technical theater
3. The train museum that i used to work at called me by surprise this past Sunday because they had a massive failure of the system that controls the 100' by 12' model train layout and I am one of the 2 people who wired it 3 years ago. I am being brought back into the club and put in charge of the electrical wiring and maintenance, a position ive wanted since that project 3 years ago. I might add that after two full days of repairing shotty work done by others since i left the club a about 2 years ago the layout Is back to being fully operational :3
Now the bad news,
If i don't get the job ill have to move back to my parents house and ill have next to no money for a long time whole im in college so that means no MFF or FC.
All in all it could be alot worse and I'm really crossing my fingers that my life is FINALY going to settle down for awhile.
