Gem and Paul
Posted 3 years agoSo I am upto page 180ish on toddlergirl found comic.
Since the start I have wondered if Paul the blue lion was based on her husband. She has mentioned that some of the characters hobbies and general personality are portrayed form Him. Although others such as his family make up are fictional.
In these latest comics Paul is going on a date that isn't going well, but has had to tell a few home truths to Gem as well now starting to work with Gem's Insecurities/weaknesses. This is from where Gem has been a more independent and strong willed woman.
IT does seems like a coming of age comic where Gem does seem to be taking a change of gears in her life. Things have been well and good for her. But nothing has changed, for the better or worse. And There wasn't any story of what goals she wanted to achieve other than to stay where she is now.
But that's a little moot point as I compare this to my own relationship. I presently have been with my partner since Feb 2018 I believe (I'm awful with dates, please don't kill me!)
When we started dating, there were a few things she had to overcome that I decided to support her in. But I wasn't interested in a romantic relationship at first. I just wanted to keep her out of harms way. This involved keeping her out of her house, and me feeding her.
With that time together she shared what she liked, all the pet play stuff and her friends. In Turn I decided to show the little side of things. There is a lot of cross over there. But I eventually found that I was just looking after her like she was a little.
To think of a specific example. I invited her to a Little event across the country, I'd drive her there, stay over and come back. I'd known her for a few days, and this was in the few weeks. So a lot of trust was put into me to look after her. She wanted to be little too at this event. But I guess I pulled it off in the end. Because she said yes to more events.

Resilience
Posted 3 years agoWe live in in an economical nightmare now. Prices growing at an alarming rate. Where more and more goes out of your bank each month and your income doesn't scratch it anymore. We are reaching to a point where a majority of people living in poverty. They are in poverty for no fault of their own. Just living at the wrong time.
On the radio a survey of teens were done on how they felt resilience. Teens with higher feelings of resilience where usually were eating at the dinner table with family.
Able to discuss their day to day feelings and generally everyone on the table able to offer help/advice. Generally, there was some trust/security within the family.
I have lived independently for many years. I've become more confident in doing things, and have generally managed my finances fairly well to not have that stress me out.
I think we all seem to these days to try and cover our own back, and still want to keep our independence. Not need to rely on anyone or anything. But that is incredibility difficult to do.
Looking back at family, you would pool all your resources, not just money or food. But time and support for whatever is the issue at hand that week. In that, people in family are more valuable than the sum of their parts.
I will need to get talking to my parents to see what is up. I know we are all having to cut back on things. But that doesn't mean they also have to suffer in silence in others.
Having a sit down dinner with my parents is a time old tool of culture on keeping resilience in the culture.

Why People Get Dogs
Posted 3 years agoFrom my previous post about Toddler Girls comic Found. I have been reading the comment section of each post to see what viewers are saying and importantly how she responds to questions on how she feels.
I came Across this post here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/65.....8#cid:47457550
" And most importantly, unconditional love. Babies are loved without any excuse, without any effort or work on their behalf. We love them, we protect and care for them because its genetically wired into us to do so."
The key being unconditional love. Why do people get Dogs? Because they love you unconditionally. It doesn't matter what you did that day, screwed up or having a good time. They are always there to curl up by your side and be a big softy to steal your love and attention. They are very needy animals! And that's why I love them.
In a way that is why I like being I Big. I feel I have a lot of love to give. And having a little is a way of giving that easily to some one who would receive such attention well.

Your Name
Posted 3 years agoI was reading Toddler Girls Found. And it brought up a lot of inner reflection of my own feelings and why I crave to be little again.
The Anime 'Your Name' is a story of where two characters that wake up one day changing bodies. It a freaky Friday style. But They don't know each other, where they are or how they got there. They just have to fumble though the predicament they are in. This is similar feeling I got from watching Gem wake up as her younger self.
But unlike Your Name where they try to find each other in the end. Gem seems to be going through some Trauma of her past. At least up to the 100 page or so I got up to.
So Far there is a few topics:
* Insecurity From past Time Bullying
* Loneliness from no Family
* Social Integration both Old and Young
In the early start, you felt she was robbed of something, just not sure what. That came in from the insecurity of being single and pushing people away. That has to come from some where. I haven't gotten the full story on this yet. But clearly she was neglected by her parents. But I haven't read to found out the what and why of that yet.
If you haven't read it. I strongly suggest you do. I would like to write more about the few feathers it rustled with me.
The remastered is a redraw of her original that started 10 years ago. She's not only drawing better, but I feel her general art directing has improved to better tell the story a bit better.
