The Grand Cabal
Posted 6 months agoA good friend of mine by the handle of Astroturf has recently completed a stellar book, The Grand Cabal. If you have ever wanted to see what a mages convention looked like, or if you've enjoyed any of my pieces in the Sterling City setting, you owe it to yourself to read this thing, it's phenomenal. Action, drama, and maybe just a little bit of TF, it'll keep you gripped for sure.

Just thanks!
Posted 3 years agoI just wanted to say real quick, even tho I no longer respond to faves or watches, I do truly appreciate everyone that ever reads, likes, shares, faves, or otherwise gives my work a chance. I know reading can feel like a real time investment, so you guys are all awesome for doing so.
Bonus points to you commenters out there~

Break time
Posted 4 years agoThis last story was much too big and I'm starting to approach burnout, so it's time for a break. I hope people have been enjoying this series, I'll get back to it before too long!
Hey all, wanted to let you know that a lot of my writing isn't getting reformatted and posted to FA or dA. Some of the shorter stuff I just leave sitting in a folder on Google Drive, while I send a notification out on Twitter. If you want to be sure you catch all my stories, you can follow me here: https://twitter.com/YakkabeFish
Do note that I occasionally get political on there, but most of those opinions should be pretty obvious stuff to folk around here.

Things are stable
Posted 6 years agoHey all, hope no one's been missing me too much, because my writing is going to be even more limited than usual. What am I down to, like two submissions a year?
I just got a stable, salaried job at the start of this month, and it looks like my temping days are finally over. Art time is down, career time is up, and most of my creative juices are going into managing a tabletop RPG these days. I'm sure I'll still get the itch to write gross pulp once in a while, but for the most part, I'm just going to continue lurking. Thank you to everyone who enjoys and supports the remaining work I do share, and an extra big thanks to the artists who continue to submit the kooky things that inspire me.
Peace!

News 07/27/14
Posted 11 years agoHey folks!
Got a lot of big news. First of all, I have finally bought my own place. Sometime in late August I'll be moving out, which means a little less free time as I have to actually take care of myself, but more importantly, it means I have privacy. No more distractions, no more irritations, no more sharing the internet. It is my hope that I can reopen negotiations with my muse.
Along those lines, holy CRAP do banks suck. 10K in closing costs on a 70K condo. Welcome to the world of mortgages, I suppose. I got so passionate after that meeting that it actually inspired me to write a ridiculous little TF story. It felt great, just like the old days, wrote the whole thing in two days. Expect it sometime from this evening to the next couple days after I'm satisfied editing.
With that all said, I do have some schleck to deal with around here, some very uncomfortable business that I will have to deal with on my own. Don't expect a sudden new splurge of content.
Panic Station is still being worked on, and it will be great. Stay tuned!

Remember
Posted 11 years agoI am a civilian.
I live with my parents. Last week I was in a car accident. My car might be totalled, and my plans for moving out and finally getting a little privacy have been quite severely screwed up as a result. Frankly, my whole life has seemed kind of a mess the past several days. But on a day like today, I realize just how petty my problems are.
To the veterans, those who still willingly put their lives on the line, those who gave their lives protecting our interests, and those who have returned home and still are not receiving the medical care they need or deserve because of the failings of our federal bureaucracy, my problems must seem laughable indeed.
Let’s not forget them. And let’s not forget that they are still struggling today: The active combatants, the families left behind, and the veterans dying here on our own soil because of a mismanaged and broken VA.

Holidays...
Posted 13 years agoJust wanted something to replace old journal - so I have been watching more streams lately, but with extra family around for the holidays this has been rather difficult. On nights like tonight when the brother is out of the house, I'm really trying to take advantage of it, but for the rest of the time my online presence will be sketchy.
I've gotten through most of my commissions and hope to move on to a few friend obligations soon.
Hope you guys had/have a good end of the year!

Borderlands
Posted 13 years agoIn anticipation of Borderlands 2 coming out this autumn, I am planning a brief series of TF stories set on Pandora. They aren't my usual type of transformations (that is: they are not inanimate), so if you are just a random passerby, I may need your comments most of all. =P
Now I don't normally do fan-fictions - I don't like messing with established characters. So to that end I am forgoing Roland, Mordecai, Lilith, and Brick and using some original characters instead. If by any strange coincidence, anyone has any Borderlands characters they would like to see me (ab)use, let me hear them and I may use them - otherwise I will just make some up.

Art Dump
Posted 13 years agoArt dump woo! Okay, so I'm not yet familiar with FA's submission system and not too fond of the lack of html support with literature, so just give me a heads-up if I horribly botched any of the story submissions.

Unpacking
Posted 15 years agoHey all, thanks to everyone for the welcome and any watches I haven't already thanked you for. :)
I'm still treating my dA account as my main one, so don't expect too many submissions over on this end, I'm mostly using it to view art I otherwise couldn't. (same account name over there)
