News: health/TLK Mufasa (SPOILERS!)
Posted 7 months agoI got the results of my blood test yesterday and it turned out I have pretty low levels of hemoglobin - it's 86 g/l when it's normally has to be around 120-140, which means I have anemia (close to severe degree according to wiki lol). No wonder I'm so sleepy and tired all the time (and have my daily headaches). The reason of it is yet to be found, but at least I know why I feel much like trash recently (actually my levels of hemoglobin were always lower than needed, but it has never been this bad)

I finally went to see TLK: Mufasa, and honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised. I expected it to be another weak movie (which is often a case with remakes), but it wasn't bad at all. It was delightful to see a story which is nicely interwined with the original film as well as even with fan stories. Needless to say, it was the first time to see an actual expansion of The Lion King universe (I don't count The Lion Guard here and I don't even consider it a part of this). It's touching and it adds a lot to the image of Scar/Taka, especially for those who never immersed further in the universe than the original story and never read fanfiction :D (I suppose the part with Sarabi being in a love triangle was initially suggested in The Chronicles of Prideland?). Though it makes you empathize with Taka a lot, the story is itself a little naive and not as intense: it definitely asks for more serious justification in some moments when main characters do their moral choice.
Despite that, the film brings a lot of strong impressions and makes you live it through: I especially loved the moment with the formation of the Pride Rock (it was epic!). I definitely enjoyed to see new minor characters presented (each with their given name: a big difference from TLK I-II, isn't it?): Taka and Mufasa's parents, Outlanders, other members of the pride. And - to my great joy - Sarafina appeared too :D (in a couple of frames... poor girl, will she ever be given enough screen time?).
I must admit I've loved the film, even though I haven't seen the remake of 2019 - it seemed impossible to me then to show emotions on the CGI realistic lion faces as well as make their individualistic features quite distinguishable. In Mufasa, however, we can clearly tell the difference between the lions and even recognize in them the original characters' traits. I recommend you watch the film if you're a long-term fan of TLK (just as I am) to see the story take on new turns and characters, and rediscover for yourself the teenage years of Taka and Mufasa in Disney's vision.
Happy birthday to me! ππ₯π°

I can't believe it, but I'm already 27.
I don't know if I've accomplished much a person of my age should, but I'm glad I made my way into drawing and I appreciate each of my follower π
Thank you so much! β€οΈ
I'll try not to be so upset about the numbers lol I hope I can do better art for you in the future in terms of both quality and quantity <3

Also recently I've been thinking of setting up my own Discord server, but I'm not sure it's a good idea π I'm not as popular anyway to have one, and I'm also pretty silent most of the time XD I just thought it might be fun to chat once in a while maybe? I'll have to think it through and look into activities that are usually done there. What usually makes you wanna join?

p.s. Today I also had to go through some medical scanning (a computed tomography), which I was anxious af about (coz I'd never done that before) and I couldn't sleep well. In fact it only took me a couple of minutes and it turned out my brain is alright lol (what a relief) I'd had plans for today to go out to see the movie, but I went home right after the hospital, so no party. I've treated myself to sushi tho π£

Terms of Service
Posted 2 years agoBy commissioning me, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
I DRAW
- equines (feral form only);
- humanoids (basically anything that looks fairly close to real human beings and is connected to your equines, e.g. riders, groomers. Note that I do not draw art featuring only humanoids, I'm an equine artist in the first place);
- moderate NSFW (very limited, so you better ask me beforehand).
I DO NOT DRAW
- anthro;
- fetishes;
- gore;
- hardcore NSFW.
If your idea involves anything not listed above, you are free to ask. I reserve the right to refuse any commission at my sole discretion without any further explanation.
You can commission me via Furaffinity, Deviantart, Instagram, or Discord.
By claiming a slot, you agree to note me within 48 hours with the details of your commission. Payment must be done within 48 hours after we agree on the details unless stated otherwise or a payment plan is arranged.
If you request me with:
you must provide a reference of your character and at least a general idea of what you want the outcome to be. You are welcome to send images with desirable poses, colors, environment, mood, etc.
In this case the process of work will include the following steps:
1. Sketch: a pose and a composition are decided;
2. Coloring: a pose or a composition will not be changed at this stage, however, you are allowed to ask for color corrections and some minor changes concerning background, accessories, etc.;
3. Rendering: details and color effects are made. At this stage I will not make any free-of-charge changes unless they concern my own errors, e.g. eye color, marks, etc. I will not make any changes concerning perspective, lightning, coloring, or any other component of the artwork that is limited by my skill level. No quality complaints are accepted at this part, so check out the examples of my artworks before commissioning and make sure my artistic skill meets your needs.
I will not proceed to the next stage unless approved by the Commissioner. This being said, I will not charge additional fee for changes made within the corresponding stages of work. In any other case the fee shall be discussed.
I reserve the right to use any declined pieces of art for my own purposes including commerce, i.e. to use them for a future YCH or commission as long as they do not reflect individual features of your character.
If you do not have any clear ideas you may as well commission me with artistic freedom. In this case I will not make any changes to the artwork at your request (it does not apply to errors or omissions on my part regarding features of your character). I also reserve the right not to provide WIPs if commissioned with artistic freedom.
you must provide a reference of your character. In this case WIPs are provided on request, but constant asking for updates will not be tolerated.
Note that by bidding on an auction, you agree to pay the amount stated in your bid, should you win. The final price may be increased depending on the complexity of your character. Revoking bids is not allowed and will result in being blacklisted.
The Commissioner has the right to publish the commissioned artwork on any online platforms and to use it in any non-commercial way unless stated otherwise. Linking back to my account when reuploading my artwork is highly appreciated. Editing my watermark is strictly prohibited.
I reserve the full rights to my artwork, i.e. to publish, to alter in any way and to use it for advertising. It also applies to publishing WIPs on any online platform or streaming the artistic process unless previously arranged. If you want to keep it private or be posted with a delay, you must inform me beforehand.
The Commissioner may cancel the commission at any stage and get a partial refund depending on the amount of work already done, or
I may cancel the commission myself at any stage if itβs not really working out or you are being disrespectful. This will lead to a complete refund.
The artwork is usually completed within a month after payment is done. However, the turnaround time may vary depending on the amount and complexity of artworks being commissioned as well as my daily business. If it takes longer than 1 month, I will let you know. Please be patient, I do not work under strict deadlines, and if I feel pressure and I'm being rushed, it may result in worse quality of the artwork. It's not for the lack of commitment but rather depends on my mental state at the moment and having inspiration. Nonetheless, I always finish commissioned art as soon as possible and do my best before I send you a completed artwork, so let's respect each other.

Buymeacoffee problem
Posted 3 years agoDo you have any problems with Buymeacoffee recently? My commissioner tried to pay me (she's from Canada), but it keeps saying "payment method declined". It's my first time to get paid on Buymeacoffee, am I doing anything wrong? Just wondering if you faced any problems recently paying for your commissions to Russian artists via Buymeacoffee. Do you use this method at all? I'm pretty sure the problem is not on my side as I connected it to Payoneer and it must be functioning correctly. Idk what to do... I'll have to pay an yearly fee on Payoneer soon if I don't have any transactions there, and I can do that only with BMC ;_;
Possible alternatives to Paypal
Posted 3 years agoThis information will be useful to Russian artists as well as their foreign commissioners. I've found some alternatives to Paypal that is temporarily suspended in my country, and at the moment there are 3 of them:
1) Buymeacoffee
https://www.buymeacoffee.com/
Seems like the best option for the most Russian artists. Many of them has already made an account there (here is mine, so this is probably gonna be the most common payment method.
Pros:
+ friendly interface
+ analogous to Ko-fi or Patreon
+ looks credible enough
+ you can save dollars on your account
+ you don't have to register to pay (only e-mail and the card number needed)
+ payout to your bank account
+ payout fee is only 5%
Cons:
- min withdrawal amount: 20$
- commissioner can pay only with their credit card or via Apple Pay/Google Pay
- commissioner may not want to enter their credit card number
- payout takes up to 5-10 days
2) Boosty
https://boosty.to/
This service is easier to use for commissioners, but not as good for artists as Buymeacoffee.
Pros:
+ popular and credible service for Russian creators
+ analogous to Patreon
+ you can pay with Paypal or credit card
+ money are sent to your bank account automatically
Cons:
- you need an account to pay (but you can easily log in with your Google account)
- you'll have to pay in rubles, which means you'll need to know currency rate
- conversion fee? I don't know how much Paypal charges to convert your dollars to rubles, and who pays it. I found the number of 2,5-4% fee for conversion, but I have to find out whether a commissioner or an artist is charged.
- payout fee 10%
3) Paysend
https://paysend.com
The last one in the list because I like it less, but many people successfully use it, including artists.
Pros:
+ zero fee for payout to your bank account (till April the 1st)
+ zero fee for payments in USD
+ payments are received quickly
Cons:
- registration needed
- you can't save money in dollars in your Paysend account as they go directly to your local bank account
- the artist have to share their card number with the commissioner who has to enter it
- some users report problems with receiving payments from the USA
- 5-8% of negative reviews where people complain that Paysend froze the transaction and took their money
- poor support
On the whole I don't recommend this service, though some people work with and and we'll need some time to see if it's credible enough.
This is not the full list of all possible options. Maybe I'll find something else that would be more convenient for both artists and commissioners. What do you think is the most important option for you in payment services?
p.s. I've seen some sources in the internet which say that Russia will completely disconnect from the global internet in March, 11. I'm so scared. I hope it's a fake...

PayPal is suspended in Russia
Posted 3 years agoPaypal shuts down its services in Russia. I don't know what to do because we don't really have any other alternatives here. Payoneer, Wise, Skrill are blocked here as well. I don't know about Paysera and Paysend, I'll check it out but I'm not sure they'll work. Patreon and Twitch have suspended their services in Russia too.
The only one alternative which I can think of is Fiverr. It has crazy fee of 20% though. Have you heard of this service? And how do you pay to Ukrainian artists? Paypal has been suspended there since 2014 too, so most of them work via Russian agents.
I don't know what to do, this news broke me. I have to make a living to buy food and medicine and I depend on this money
At the moment I can't even download the website lmao I was too stressed so I made a mistake when typing a password, and it said I need to reset my password, but it doesn't work. I have like $900~ in my pp account and this money was my savings for a rainy day and I didn't want to withdraw them because the ruble is going to be cheaper and cheaper every day

Russian goverment is to ban furry culture
Posted 4 years agoI'm so tired of these news lmao Every morning you wake up and see another bunch of news that are going either to make you laugh or to piss you off. Today I woke up to this: "Russian goverment plans to recognize LGBT, furry culture, radical feminism and child-free as extremist ideologies, and consequently ban them.
They say they try to keep children safe from 'destructive content', but why adults should suffer from such prohibitions? I know that there is a lot of furry content 18+, so why don't you just make an age restrictions for such website, god.
I don't understand either why LGBT and child-free are seen as something negative, let just these people be themselves unless they invade your personal space or something. This is my problem too...
Meanwhile there's a lot, I mean A LOT of CP gifs left by bots in comments in the most popular social network in Russia "VKontakte", and they just don't care lmao

CIS TikTok trend warning
Posted 4 years agoI really want to share it here coz the same problem have been bothering me lately. I can never understand how people change their dignity for money. The whole idea of making art only because you get paid is disgusting. But some artists even draw what they hate (nsfw, fetishes, etc.) just because they're paid a lot for this. They make fun of their commissioners calling them perverted bags of money. I'll never ever forgive such attitude and such people. They don't even have a right to be called an artist. It's quite alright not to draw what you don't like, why would you do this horrible thing? I don't understand. I feel quite ashamed for the artist community in my own country. That's why I don't really want people to know I live in Russia, coz the things are getting even worse.
Beware of the wave of low-skilled CIS artists craving for millions, please read this.

New graphic tablet
Posted 4 years agoI got a new graphic tablet yesterday, and for some reason it's so hard for me to get used to... It's so different from my old tablet. 1024 pressure levels vs 8192, A6 vs A5, the surface is more rough, the pen is lighter, even the keys. The proccess of drawing is so different now. I'm overwhelmed. I still have commissions to do, and I feel like I have to re-learn drawing... I'm so sorry for making you wait. I hope I can get used to it eventually, but now it's just too stressful for me

Why The Lion Guard is so frustrating for me
Posted 4 years agoThese days I'm ill and prefer to stay in bed, that's why I decided to check out "The Lion Guard" that I delayed from 2015. I must mention here that I was a big fan of TLK in the past, constantly engaging myself in various role play games, trying to figure out the genealogy, drawing characters and so on and so forth. When I got to know about the new series coming up, I was a little surprised, still that didn't seem to me a good idea to revive a really old Disney cartoon. That's why I delayed watching The Lion Guard series for so many years.
So far I have watched only 23 episodes, but it was enough to frustrate me. I'm sorry in advance for lovers of The Lion Guard, I do not intend to hurt anyone's feelings here. This is just my subjective opinion.
1) The songs. I watch the series in Russian, and the vocals are so bad there. I mean, they ARE bad. The translators of the series didn't want to spend extra money to hire some professional singers for the songs, so they're performed by the same voice actors. To compare, in old TLK movies there were two voice actors for Simba, Nala, etc. And they got really nice vocals when singing.
2) The shading. To be presice, the LACK of it. I mean why didn't you even bother to shade the main heroes? I see a little of it, but it is really of low quality. Not to speak of backround - they just didn't care to shade zebras, antilopes, giraffes, etc. Everything is absolutely flat.
3) The stories. They aren't that bad, but they would work for children under 10. To compare with the old TLK movies, those were good enough for adults, teaching wise things. And these are just some silly stories that teach you nothing but make you constantly face-palm about the main heroes being so childish and naive (especially Bunga). Maybe I want too much from a kids' show, idk.
WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT THE LION GUARD:
1) A lot of characters. I really love it. Most of the second plan characters have their names and constantly reappear. So they are not just a nameless crocodile for you.
2) Animals can speak. WOW. We didn't have it in TLK 1&2. However, I don't really understand why some of them are given the ability to speak (zebras, crocodiles, bulls) and some are not (impalas, damans). I guess those who are meant to be eaten cannot speak.
3) The voices and the dubbing. It was a great surprise for me to hear Pumba and Timon voices again XD Those two can never be changed. Also I guess there are same voices for Simba, Nala, Kiara and Rafiki. I'm not sure about it. I didn't expect it because many years have passed and those old voice actors could probably drop their job or die or idk. It is amazing.
I'm sorry again if something that I wrote here is too negative, I just wanted to express my thoughts about it. Also the fever makes me really sick, my brain got overheated XD
