i am terrible at movie reviews but just trust me on this, super 8 is a movie you want to see in theatres :D they play out some obvious jump moments but a movie hasn't had me like that since jurassic park! so effing good! i don't think i have ever been so satisfied with paying $12 to see a movie. i laughed, i got misty eyed, i peed a little... it was amazing.

this is a weird show... but it calls to my 80's family value disney channel programming side. i have a big urge to watch stuff like "the journey of natty gann" and "avonlea" now <3

so i go in to a trader joes the other day for a few quick groceries, you know, the basics: milk, bananas, meat and beer. so i'm over in the milk section and i'm looking for something quart sized (rode my bike there, can't get anything too heavy) and i find what looks just right. the milk had three different "flavors": strawberry, vanilla and plain, so i grabbed the plain and threw it in the basket. i thought it was a bit odd though since the plastic bottle was opaque and milk bottles are usually transparent. but then again opaque containers keep more vitamins in the milk... and this IS trader joes. (for those unfamiliar, trader joes is kinda like a health food store without being a health food store.)

so i get home and i'm all ready to have a snack of bananas and milk, so ready in fact that i take a giant swig of that milk from right out of the bottle... and that's when i discover the secret to the opaque plastic. i got CULTURED milk. NOT THE REFRESHING TASTE I WAS LOOKING FOR. cultured milk is essentially yogurt. yogurt has no business being sold in milk bottles! yeah this stuff was pourable, more pourable than that yoplait crap, but still... i felt dooped.

so now i have a quart of pourable yogurt and still no milk.

it's not that bad actually. once you get over the initial sourness it's alright with fruit. and it's healthy or something >_>

so i made one.

whenever i have to do something i don't want to do i come here and procrastinate and try to think of something to make a journal about so i have an excuse to be doing something else for an hour.

this doesn't change the fact that i STILL NEED TO DO MY TAXES! which i used to not mind at all when i got money back. oh, freelance work, your bittersweet poison hath robbed thine bank's bosom! seriously, i know i don't have the money. you can't get blood from a turnip, irs!

fucking shit.

also, dating websites pretty much suck.

i'm actually pretty relaxed about all this believe it or not. i think my typing style over exaggerates my emotions.

i'm gone for a week and i start having dreams about this place. well, more like dreams about people i have never met before from this place. that's kinda weird i think.

actually, i moved most of my stuff the day before the rains hit. waiting for it to clear up so i can get the rest of it and be done.

things have a way of working out perfectly for me right now. had two jobs, went down to one, started the move, finish up moving and then start back up with the other job again next week. possible third job happening but that will be decided in the weeks to come. things are finally starting to work out for me.

["don't ever give up" life story ahead...]
just six months ago i was flat broke living on food stamps and government aide, living in a less than healthy situation (some of you might remember that journal about my gross ex roommate) in a down and out part of town, struggling with the idea of paying back a metric shit ton of student loans. besides all that i had to deal with a death in the family, the death of my cat, being hit by a city bus, slum lords, and so very much more. i have survived what i hope is the most difficult part of my life. keeping a positive attitude has been a constant struggle for me in these last three years and in that time i have learned a lot about myself, and some of that i owe to the furry community.

i joined the furry community more than a year ago as a desperate attempt to find and answer to something i wasn't even sure how to ask. i'm not sure if my answer has come yet but through the community i have found inspiration, strength, feelings of happyness, the occasional friend and even came to terms with my sexuality. i feel like i haven't just moved on to another chapter in my life but another volume entirely. or maybe this is act two.

whatever it is i have never lost sight of my goals and now that the tide has broke i can finally realize my dreams and get on with the life i want to have. so i just want to say to everyone here: don't ever give up, don't lose sight of your goals and hopes and dreams, don't give in to the easiest solution if it means losing sight of what you really want in life. what goes up must come down and what goes down can always go a lot further than you think it can but things are never so down that there is no hope of getting back up.

i hope everyone who reads this (especially those who are a little down and out themselves) can take a little positive inspiration from my experiences as i have taken positive inspiration from others here.

i hate that i have to wait almost an entire year to have that christmasy feeling again. i think mostly it was the christmas tree coming down the day after christmas due to it being a fire hazard, but also there were a lot of little things missing. it was a casual christmas. not bad (it was actually very nice), but i think i am going to really do it up next year.
