Out of Hibernation

Some of you might already have heard about our idea of doing a “slumber party.”
Since we had a lot of positive feedback on this idea, we decided to work it out further.
The plan is to organize a fun and cosy evening (with overnight stay), watching movies, wearing Kigurumis, eating pizza, doing art, etc. And all this in a nice and quiet location in Profondeville, close to Namen/Namur.
The date for this event will be Saturday the 20th of may and Sunday the 21st of may.
At about 17h we’ll get started, but you can drop by whenever you like (e.g. people who have to work on a Saturday) The next day, after a good breakfast meal, we have to leave at 10h at the latest. However, the plan is to use the rest of the day for an activity we decide on the spot, depending on the weather and how everyone feels. Some of the options are: Hiking in the forest, minigolf, enjoying a drink on a terrace next to the Meuse, etc. After that, this event will end on time so everyone can be home at a decent hour, especially the people who have to work on Monday.
Interested? Read along and get yourself registered. But don’t wait too long, because we only have 22 spots!
The registration process is similar to all our other meets, but with a few additions.
If you like to join, just leave a comment below as usual and we put you on the list.
We will then send you a note with payment information. Payment is due within one week after we put you on the list. Note that only when your registration fee is payed, we can confirm your status. Your confirmation mail will contain all remaining info, including the address of the location and guidelines on how to get there.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. When all spots are occupied, we’ll put you on the waiting list. If spots become free again due to circumstances, these spots will be given to the waiting list, again on a first come, first serve basis.
The registration fee is €38 and includes:
- Overnight stay
- Breakfast
- Use of the polyvalent room where we will actually do the slumber party
- Pizza’s
- Pancakes
- Basic supply of soft drinks and snacks
Bed linen are not included, so you have to bring them yourself. You have, however, the option to order them for an additional €5. Just ask for it during the registration.
While we provide some basics like soft drinks (Cola, Fanta, Sprite, etc.) and snacks (chips, etc.) we encourage you to bring some stuff of your own, like some kind of “pot luck.” Also, alcoholic beverages like beer and liquors are allowed, but you have to bring them yourself.
The location is in Profondeville, close to Namur and it’s situated in a green and quiet neighborhood. We’ll send the exact address and driving guidelines when you’re registered. For people coming by train, there is a train station in Lustin (gare de Lustin) with a direct connetion to Brussels. Once you’re there, we can pick you up.
The building consists of 4 rooms of 4 occupants and one room of 6 occupants, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a breakfast room a polyvalent room and a big garden. There’s sufficient parking space in front. Click here to get a first impression of the place.
Also, once you’re registered, you will be added to a dedicated Telegram chatgroup where we can discuss things like which movies we’re going to watch, carpooling to the location, etc.
Since spring will be well advanced at the time of this event, we decided to do a “spring/out of hibernation-theme,” hence the name of this journal.
If you have have a kigurumi, do bring it along! Same for pillows, blankets, etc. Things like that add to the cosyness factor! Fursuits are of course also very welcome.

In a few weeks, on Saturday the 15th of April, there’s a cosplay festival in the “Japanse tuin” in Hasselt. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet up and have fun in a unique environment, especially for the fursuiters amongst us. With a bit of luck, we can even see some blossoms!
The garden is open from 10:00 a.m. We will be there around noon, but everyone is of course free to drop by whenever they want. The garden is small enough, so it should be pretty easy to spot our group.
Fursuiters and cosplayers enter for free, everyone else need to pay a small entrance fee of €5.
There is parking space nearby at the PXL campus or at the Koning Boudewijnlaan.
It’s also a short walk from the Kolonel Dusartplein for the people coming by public transport. From the train station, take the city bus H3 (direction “Trichterheide”) or line 45 (direction “Maaseik”). Get off at stop “Koning Boudewijnlaan.” Cross the street, take the stairs down and follow the bicycle path to the entrance of the garden.
At 18:00h we will then go to Hasselt, which is a short walk, where we can have dinner at "het Borrelhuis" and have a drink. This is with an open end, everyone is free to leave whenever they want.
If you like to join us for dinner, please subscribe by leaving a comment below, so we can reserve places for the right amount of people. (Max. 20 spots) Due to this, we do expect you to come if you subscribe.

We would like to give an update considering the Carnaval meet tomorrow.
As you might have noticed the weather is not really on our side this weekend.
Current weather reports state there will be a 10-15% chance of rain at the time of our walk in Mechelen.
During the morning a heavier downpour is predicted (40%) so it would be safe to assume the streets might be wet during the walk.
Because of this we would like to ask the suiters to take precautions.
(For example, bring along some rain gear that you can easily carry yourself or that is lightweight/foldable so our spotters may carry it. That way we got a first line of defense in case the weather turns bad during the walk.
If you really worry about your feetpaws getting wet, a partial suit might be a good solution.)
In case the weather gods really, really hate us we will vote for a different activity.
Current suggestions are an afternoon of bar hopping or a visit to Technopolis.
Dinner will still go as planned either way!
For now the weather still seems reasonable enough and everything should still go as earlier mentioned. We did however wanted to give everyone a heads up!

Carnival parade 19/03/2017

On sunday the 19th of march we are going to do something special. Thanks to fauho, we have the opportunity to join the official carnival parade in Mechelen! It's a fun parade through the centre of Mechelen with a lot of spectators.
Unfortunately, because it's an official parade, there are some restrictions:
Only fursuiters can participate on the parade itself. Everyone else is of course very much welcome to watch the parade and, as usual, to join us for dinner and drinks afterwards.
Make sure your suit is well maintained, clean and the fur neatly brushed.
We kindly ask partial suiters to have a nice and fitting outfit, and to make sure no skin is showing.
We hold the right to deny suiters which we believe don't follow these rules and thus are not suitable for this parade. You can always note us if you are not sure wheter your suit is suitable or not.
Lots of people are going to watch the parade, so we want to look at our best and leave a good impression. (We don't want to scare people away. )
Also, expect to be walking around in fursuit for a long time and quite a distance with no breaks in between. Once the parade starts, we can't go back. Keep in mind you have to be physically fit enough to do this. Do not underestimate this. There will be, of course, spotters to accompany us, carrying bottles of water for the suiters.
Practical:
We meet at parking Zandpoortvest at 14h at the latest! Preferably even 15 minutes earlier. (People coming by train, station "Mechelen" is just a 5min walk from there. )
From there, the non suiters can move on to a spot near the parcours where they can wach the parade.
The suiters will go to the St. Romboutscollege where they can get dressed and join the parade.
At 15h11 sharp, the parade will start.
At 18h, when the parade is finished and the suiters have their normal clothes back on, we'll have dinner in restaurant "d' afspraak."
Due to practical reasons, only 20 spots are available for dinner.
Also due to practical reasons, we are asked to limit our menu choices to these four:
- Vol au vent
- Steak with sauce of choice
- Spaghetti
- Salad with goat cheese (Veggie option)
Let us know in a comment below if you want to join for dinner, so we can reserve a spot for you. Also let us know which menu choice you like and wheter you are a fursuiter or not.

Sunday January 22 is the birthday of our favorite Fristi-dragon Kzarren, and he wants to throw a little birthday-meet!
The plan is to go to the Antwerp zoo and have dinner at Amadeus. (and maybe get a drink afterwards.)
At 12:00h we will gather in front of the entrance of the Antwerp zoo. The entrance fee for the zoo is €24 (students €22). If we have a group of 15+ persons, the entrance fee is €21 (students €19).
When the zoo closes, we’ll head to the Amadeus, a famous spare ribs restaurant, for dinner. This will be around 17:30h. The menu can be found here.

Here to announce a quick update for our second MFL meetup this Sunday in Mechelen.
The initial plan of meeting up at Zandpoortvest 1 has changed! This for the better as we can announce a place to change into and out of our fursuits. We will meet up at Parking Grote Markt (Vinci Park Services Belgium, Grote Markt 39/Z, 2800 Mechelen) and we will move in group to restaurant “De Met” where we can change. We also made reservations for 15 furs who want to join for dinner here. So be quick about making reservations!
To summarize:
-The event will take place on sunday 18 december in Mechelen
-Our initial meeting spot will not be at Zandpoortvest 1, but at Vinci Park Services Belgium, Grote Markt 39/Z at 13:00h
-We have the opportunity to change at restaurant “De Met” Grote Markt 29, 2800 Mechelen
-15 spots have been reserved for us to eat at “De Met”. We will eat at 18:00h. Be quick about getting a spot! Leave a comment below.
For the fursuiters; please make sure your suit is well maintained and in top condition. We want to be at our best when collecting money for the good cause!

Here to announce a quick update for our second MFL meetup this Sunday in Mechelen.
The initial plan of meeting up at Zandpoortvest 1 has changed! This for the better as we can announce a place to change into and out of our fursuits. We will meet up at Parking Grote Markt (Vinci Park Services Belgium, Grote Markt 39/Z, 2800 Mechelen) and we will move in group to restaurant “De Met” where we can change. We also made reservations for 15 furs who want to join for dinner here. So be quick about making reservations!
To summarize:
-The event will take place on sunday 18 december in Mechelen
-Our initial meeting spot will not be at Zandpoortvest 1, but at Vinci Park Services Belgium, Grote Markt 39/Z at 13:00h
-We have the opportunity to change at restaurant “De Met” Grote Markt 29, 2800 Mechelen
-15 spots have been reserved for us to eat at “De Met”. We will eat at 18:00h. Be quick about getting a spot! Leave a comment below.
For the fursuiters; please make sure your suit is well maintained and in top condition. We want to be at our best when collecting money for the good cause!

Hey everyone,
Last saturday we collected a beautiful amount of 580,53 Euro's, thanks to you all!
Hopefully we can achieve the same (or even better!) next weekend.
Next weekend, sunday 18/12, we will do this again but this time in Mechelen.
At 13:00h we will gather at the parking on Zandpoortvest 1, Mechelen. This is right across "De Kruidtuin" and there is a bus stop named "Mechelen Zandpoortvest." It's also a 10 minute walk from the train station. If the GPS can't find the right place, try giving in "raghenoplein 21 Mechelen," this should take you to the right spot.
From there, when the suiters are ready, we will go to the city centre and the Christmas fair to do what we do best: fursuiting and collecting money.
At about 17:00h we will return to the zandpoortvest to change again.
Afterwards, we'll have dinner, but the restaurant still has to be be confirmed. This last detail will be updated ASAP!
For the fursuiters; please make sure your suit is well maintained and in top condition. We want to be at our best when collecting money for the good cause!
For the non-suiters; We are in need of spotters. Do you have what it takes to be a spotter? Let us know!

We now have acquired all the necessary permits for our Music for Life meets, which means we can finally go ahead and share the last details.
Next week, saturday 10 december, will be the first Music for Life meet, which will take place in Hasselt instead of Genk as mentioned earlier. This is because Genk denied our request to suit there.
We will gather at 13:00h at the "Kolonel Dusartplein" right in front of the library. There, the fursuiters can get dressed. (We have arranged a place where the suiters can get dressed and where you can store your belongings safely.)
When everyone is ready, we will go out to the city center and do our thing, walking around in fursuit and collecting money for charity!
At about 17:00h to 17:30h we will return to the Kolonel Dusartplein to change again, and at 18:00h we'll have dinner at "het Borrelhuis." Be aware, only 20 spots are available! If you want to join us for dinner, just leave a note below. Click here to view the menu. We kindly ask to bring enough cash to make our job a bit easier.
The best way to get to the Dusartplein is either by car or by train. There is a car park under the Kolonel Dusartplein and from the train station there is a shuttle bus every 10 minutes (de boulevard-pendel).
For the suiters; make sure your suit is neatly brushed, well maintained and in decent condition. We want people to come close and give us money, not to keep their distance.
For the non-suiters; we are in need of spotters. If you want to volunteer, please do let us know.

We are currently looking into getting suiting permits for Genk (10/12) and Mechelen (18/12). (These locations are not yet confirmed so they might change. Please keep this in mind!)

As some of you may already know, we are going to participate with StuBru’s Music for Life again this year. We will do this on saturday 10/12 and sunday 18/12.
The details about how, when and where we are going to organise these meets will be announced soon, but first it’s time to decide which good cause we want to support this year.
To make things easy, we already picked a few good causes of which we believe deserve some extra support. We made a poll where you can choose your good cause of choice. Just follow the link below.

Oufti/Befurs Planckendael Zoo meet

Ouftimeet and 
Befurs are working together to organize a meet at Planckendael Zoo on Saturday 15/10!
We will be spending a full day at the park and afterwards we will head towards a Chinese restaurant in Mechelen.
So please join us if you like exotic animals, good company and a tasty meal. : D

• 10h30 : Meeting up at the zoo entrance.
• 11h00 : We enter the zoo. Be sure to be on time!
• We will be having a lunch break at 12h00 and a little snack stop at 16h00.
• We will leave the zoo around 18h00-19h00.

- Budget /Tickets-
• Zoo tickets for students (18-25 years) are 24 euro. You will need to show a student card.

Posted 9 years agoA while back we’ve made a Telegram chatgroup. This group is meant for all Belgian furries, but of course everyone is free to join. It’s perfect for friendly chatter and to meet new people.

However, to make sure this group is fun for everyone (and stays that way) we’ve set some rules. Nothing special, just some basic stuff. Use the chatgroup with common sense and you’ll be fine.
- The main language is English. That way, everyone can join and understand the conversations.
- This is a general chatgroup, so anything NSFW (including pornographic, obscene or gory content) is not allowed. Other chatgroups exist for that purpose.
- Racism, sexism, discrimination or generally offensive content will not be tolerated.
- Be respectfull, don’t be rude and don’t harass other people. Respect other people’s opinions, even if you don’t agree. Keep it civilized.
- Having another opinion is not the same as a personal attack, keep that in mind when having a discussion. Sometimes you disagree, and that’s fine. Simply “agree to disagree,” and hop on to the next topic. Lots of drama can be avoided by not taking everything personal.
- While it’s perfectly fine (and even encouraged) to show your artwork or fursuit pictures, spamming is not appreciated. Choose two or three or even four of your best images, but don’t start flooding the channel by posting ten or more of them. If you really want to show more, drop a link to your online gallery instead.
- The same counts for GIF’s and stickers. They are fun to use, but don’t overdo it. Don’t start spamming/flooding the channel.
- While everyone is of course free to think and believe what he/she wants, some topics are best to be avoided as they are prone to huge arguments. Including but not limited to: religion, politics, …
- So called “back seat moderators” are not appreciated. It’s fine to notify a mod of a problem, but not to “act” as a mod yourself.
- And last but not least, use common sense!
We have a moderator team that will keep an eye out and intervene when needed.
If you have a problem with something or someone, please contact one of the moderators, rather than starting drama in the group.
Violating the rules or troublesome behaviour in general will result in a warning or, in case of a serious violation, a ban. Failing to comply the rules after multiple warnings will result in a ban as well. In an argument or a conflict, the moderator will always have the last word.
At this point our moderator team consists of dicebordercollie and vinniefox. More people can be added in the future if needed.
This set of rules can be modified/updated at all times. Everyone will be notified through Telegram with every new update. This journal is always the latest and actual version of the rules.

Music For Life 2016 - Save the Date!

Just like every year in December, Studio Brussel organizes “Music For Life” where they ask the citizens of Belgium to collect money for a good cause of choice.
As this is the perfect opportunity for us furries to go out fursuiting while doing some good, we cannot let this event pass by unnoticed!
Like previous year, we will also do our part to raise money for charity, with the same recipe as last year: Fursuiting while collecting money, and dinner afterwards. (and this two times!)
Last year we collected a grand total of €1004,64. This year our ambition is to collect an even higher amount, and to do so we need your help!
We can already say that our events will be on Saturday 10/12 and Sunday 18/12, so save the date!

We will be holding a lasershoot meet on the 5th of June at Sint Job in't Goor.
Two games will be played and for dinner you can make your own pizza!
Afterwards those who wish can join us for a drink.
The lasershoot place only allows 20 players at a time so slots will be limited.

We will start getting together around 15:00 and the game will commence at 15:50.
Be sure to be on time, especially if you wish to suit up.
Both games and the pizza making will last for about two and a half hours.

Furmeet Japanse tuin Hasselt 16/04/2016

In a few weeks, on Saturday the 16th of April, there’s a cosplay festival in the “Japanse tuin” in Hasselt. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet up and have fun in a unique environment, especially for the fursuiters amongst us. With a bit of luck, we can even see some blossoms!
The garden is open from 10:00 a.m. We will be there around noon, but everyone is of course free to drop by whenever they want. The garden is small enough, so it should be pretty easy to spot our group.
Fursuiters and cosplayers enter for free, everyone else need to pay a small entrance fee of €5.
There is parking space nearby at the PXL campus or at the Koning Boudewijnlaan.
It’s also a short walk from the Kolonel Dusartplein for the people coming by public transport. From the train station, take the city bus H3 (direction “Trichterheide”) or line 45 (direction “Maaseik”). Get off at stop “Koning Boudewijnlaan.” Cross the street, take the stairs down and follow the bicycle path to the entrance of the garden.
At 18:00h we will then go to Hasselt, which is a short walk, where we can eat pancakes or have a drink. This is with an open end, everyone is free to leave whenever they want.
If you like to join us for pancakes, please subscribe by leaving a comment below, so we can reserve places for the right amount of people. (Max. 20 spots) Due to this, we do expect you to come if you subscribe.

It will start at 19:40h and is in the original language with French and Dutch subtitles. To make sure we have enough time to buy our tickets and find good seats, we'll meet at 19:00h at the ticket desk.

Zootropolis movie meet update
Posted 9 years agoHey all! BEfurs here with an update for the Zootropolis movie meet.
Zootopia will premiere next week. On saturday 13/02 we will go see it! As the timetable is not yet given, we will keep you up to date when we go see the movie. Now, we speculate that the movie will play at 19:30 or 20:00. Please note that we expect that tickets will be bought individually.
We won’t make reservations for dinner since we still have no exact hour when the movie starts and it might be difficult to be on time for the movie, but there are some great restaurants close by:

Zootopia movie meet

As you all know, Disney is going to release another movie that just screams furry. Of course as you all may know already, we are talking about Zootopia (or Zootropolis). This event just asks for us to make a furmeet out of it.
This movie will play in theatres in March and we’ll try to make an event out of it. At this time we don’t know which theatre we’ll attend. The plan: Go to the movie and enjoy our time together with a dinner, movie and drink afterwards.
Exact dates are not being announced right now, but expect this meet to be at the premier showing of Zootopia or a bit later.
We hope you guys feel up for an evening of movies and fun!

Music for Life 2.0

Last weekend we collected €282,87, thanks to you guys! You all did an awesome job.
We will add some pictures in the following days, so stay tuned.
Next weekend, saturday 19/12, we will do this again but this time in Mechelen.
At 13:00h we will gather at the parking on Zandpoortvest 1, Mechelen. This is right across "De Kruidtuin" and there is a bus stop named "Mechelen Zandpoortvest." It's also a 10 minute walk from the train station. If the GPS can't find the right place, try giving in "raghenoplein 21 Mechelen," this should take you to the right spot.
We have a cooled van we can use as a place to change and drop our stuff!
Then we go through the kruidtuin to the city centre and christmas fair to suit and collect money.
At about 17:00u we then return to the parking and change again.
At 18:00 we'll go to restaurant De Cirque at the vismarkt, with everyone interested.
We only have 15 spots, so if you want to join us for dinner, please give us a shout in the comments below. If there is a great interest however, there is a possibility to add more people to the dinner-list.
If you're a fursuiter, let us also know, so we have a good view on who's coming.
Spread the word, and let other furries know about our charity meet, so we can gather as many fursuiters as possible. It's for the good cause after all!

We are happy to announce that we finally got the permission for our Music for Life meet in Ghent this weekend (12/12). This means that the previous journal is discarded! This is the last and FINAL update for this meet!
At 13:00h we meet up at parking Zuid in Ghent. This is at Woodrow Wilsonplein/Koning Albertpark. People coming by train can take following busses en trams from train station Gent St. Pieters: 58, 70, 72, 73, 76, 78 and tram 22
Here the fursuiters can dress up.
From here we go to the christmas fair to walk around and collect money from the people there.
At about 17:00h to 17:30h we return to the parking to change again.
At 18:00h we'll go to the Amadeus, a famous all you can eat spare-rib restaurant with reasonable prices, to end the day. (€15 for all you can eat spare ribs, drinks at €1,85/€2,00)
Maybe we can go for a drink afterwards, but that's to be decided on the spot.
As usual, we will keep a list of everyone who's coming. So please reply if you want to come and tell us if you want to join for dinner and if you're a fursuiter. People who already answered in the previous post, are already in the list.
Please respond ASAP and also let other people know about this charity-meet.
We made reservations for 20 people at Amadeus. Keep in mind that it's a very busy restaurant!
We can't guarantee you a spot if you comment after all 20 spots have been filled.

As you all probably know, we still don't have a permission for the music for life meet in Ghent this weekend (12/12).
Our request passed the city administration, the police office and is now at the mayor's desk. We're still hoping that we get the permission in time. (for more information, we refer to our last journal) It's not in our habit to release all info when we don't have a permission, but in order to provide all neccesary information in time, we show here the two options we have for this saturday:
Option one (aka the original plan):
We meet up at 13:00h at parking Zuid in Ghent where the fursuiters can get dressed. When the fursuiters are all dressed up, we then go to the city center and the Christmas fair and stroll around while collecting money from the people there. At about 17:00 to 17:30h we return to the parking to change again.
At 18:00h we'll go to the Amadeus, a famous all you can eat spare-rib restaurant with reasonable prices, to end the day. Maybe we can go for a drink afterwards, but that's to be decided on the spot.
Option two (aka plan B):
In this option we don't have a permission to wear fursuits in public, so the whole money-collecting-and-fursuiting part is ruled out.
We meet up at 15:00h, also at parking Zuid in Ghent just to keep things simple and clear. From there we go to the Christmas fair and stroll around. We can still have a good time and for the new ones, it's a perfect opportunity to get to know each other. At 18:00h we also go to the amadeus, and maybe have a drink afterwards. (see above)
If it's option one or two, it all depends on wether we get the permission in time or not.
To summarize:
We gather at 13:00h or 15:00h at parking zuid in Ghent
We go walk around on the christmass fair, it depends if it's with or without fursuit
At 18:00h we go to the all you can eat spare rib restaurant Amadeus
